Immortal Glutton (Read Authors note when done with chapter)

* Early Next Morning

Today was the day I'd finally awaken my authority. Checking the time on my clock it said 9:30AM so I quickly got dressed and made my way towards the kitchen for breakfast. The first thing I noticed as I entered the kitchen was food flying in the air while being directed towards the 3 plates on the table we eat at, I guess this was one of the ways technology here had advanced more than earth. Unbothered by the phenomenon happening before my eyes I sat at the table waiting for my parents to arrive..... Not to long after I sat down my parents arrived in the kitchen with sleeping gowns and sat at the table, both revealing a smile as they looked at me.

"Mom, Dad, are you both okay? you guys seem a lot more happy than usual" - Derrick

"Don't you know what day it is today, it's the day you get your authority awakened and also the day you start your journey towards reaching the top." - Earl

"I'm going to become the strongest and most influential person on Exertia, I promise" - Derrick

" I'm glad you have such a great goal in mind but if you don't work hard enough you can forget about achieving anything great. Tomorrow I'll assign you test on multiple subjects and history of this world to see if you're really ready for what's to come next." -Earl

"What's coming? Is it something big" -Derrick

"If you pass the test then I'll tell you but for now just finish your food and wait outside so we can take you to your Authority testing." - Earl

"Alright"-Derrick

After that conversation between us ended I finished my breakfas and made my way outside. I couldn't help but think to myself about what exactly my authority would be, I hadn't asked for an increase in my potential or anything like that as I felt it would be boring but now I'm starting to wish I would've because now I'm worried my authority will be little in power. But I was born into a family with great power so my authority couldn't be that bad.... could it? Before I could dwell deeper into the matter any further I felt a hand being placed on my shoulder, I turned around to see my father standing behind me.

"Don't worry about what authority you'll get Derrick, regardless of what it is we'll still love you but it'll be up to you whether you let your power bring you down or not. I believe in you son and your potential so don't think about it to much, anyway let's go your mother is about to come out soon." -Earl

My mother came out right after me and my dad's conversation so we were able to leave pretty quickly. When we reached our destination a large building which was able to hold countless people and due to my ability I could learn everything about this building as well as everything within it. If I hadn't known beforehand that their was countless people inside then I'm sure I would've been momentarily stunned, all of the people here consisted of those of the new generation and their guardians who were here just like my parents to see what power their child's authority would bring. The number of people here was within the tens of thousands, different races could be seen here and even though every thing seemed calm between them everyone knew that after the test was over this temporary time of peace would be over.

This wasn't just a time for the new generation of kids to test their authority but also a time for scouts to pick children who they want to attend their academy. Their was also a ranking system on the power of an authorities power based on the aura it emitted once revealed, this was also the way these scouts were able to determine a child's potential and future power and helping them make the correct decision. I hadn't mentioned it before but when I was reading in the library about this world's history I also read about the ranking system of authority in the same book. The ranking went like this:

*Green Aura(Lowest)

*Red Aura(Average)

*Blue Aura( Above Average)

* Yellow Aura( Special )

*Purple Aura (Gifted)

*Dark Purple Aura(Blessed)

*Black Aura(Demon)

The reason the black aura was classified as Demon level talent and was because Demons were said to have the most talent out of everyone throughout the races. If demons didn't have to follow such a dangerous training system that takes many years in order to control the power within them then no doubt they would be the most formidable species on the planet. The last time someone ever showcased a demon level talent was none other than Arthur Armstrong, the man known as the most powerful human to ever live as well as the creator of the tournament that every race participates in.

Time passed and as time passed so did many people's authority testing, the only one that caught the eye of some people was from a girl with a stone cold face that was revealed to have a Blue Aura Authority. This may seem mediocre or pitiful almost, but a talent like this was rarely seen and even though it wasn't the highest she could still be someone with a good enough power in this world if trained properly. Eventually it was my turn to get my authority tested and just like the others I walked up the steps only to see a completely black orb that had a hand print on it indicating for the person to place their hand their. I quickly used my ability to see what this orb was and information was quickly sent to me, informing me that this was a high class authority tester. It showed me who made it as well as how it was made and where.

I placed my hand on the orb and susdenly felt a huge surge of power come into my body, before I could even adapt to what was happening inside my body right now I then received some sort of alert that said "Authority is being unlocked!!"

I quickly came to my senses and awaited for my talent to then be shown to the world. Suddenly a black aura surrounded my body, my body released such a huge amount of power at once that it caused everyone here in the room to fall to their knees which caused everyone to be in a state of disbelief. As quickly as that power came it left just as fast and without thinking I immediately checked my status to see if anything changed, and like I expected the place where my authority was supposed to be was there and it's named was..... "Immortal Gluttony"
