Character 99: Grooming Beta Father

Seiya didn't have words for what his innocent father was doing all this time.

The day when he was in the park, Shido, Seiya's father, was reported by someone for stalking and the woman was none other than angel's terminator mother Yaeko Nishimiya.

Shido also revealed that they used to date in past but because of his mother suddenly coming into Shido's life, Yaeko left him without giving him a chance to explain. His mother pressurized Shido into marrying him. Yaeko misunderstood that Shido had been cheating on her and left him.

So for a couple of months, he had been trying to talk to Yaeko, now that Seiya was in good health but every time Shido approached Yaeko, she only gave him a cold shoulder.

And that all led to the current situation.

Seiya heard all of this sitting on the table along with the other two.

"…What could possibly be you want to talk to her?" Seiya asked.

"I-I… just wanted to clear misunderstanding with her… I want to help her with her family but she again misunderstands me…"

On that statement, both Aisu and Seiya frowned.

"Then why don't you ask her for dinner first. The least you can do is to ask her out first?"

"Why would I do that?"

"So you can marry her!"

"I don't want to marry her! I-I mean I do want but don't…"

Seiya was confused.

Aisu already left because of how dense Shido is.

"Why?!"

"Because… because you still miss your mother…"

Seiya was speechless.

"Why? Do you think I care for her? What gives you the impression that I am still longing for her ?"

"You sang that song for your mother, right?"

Is he talking about 'See you again' that Seiya sang for his friend of his previous life?

"What? No! I didn't sing for her!" Seiya had no idea how dense his father is.

Shido must be the harem protagonist seeing how dense he is. Looking back, he first dated Eriri's mother Sayuri Sawamura, then hook up with Shoko's mother Yaeko Nishimiya, and finally marrying to his rich mother.

"Why do you think I have decided to go independent?"

"…Because you want… you know your girlfriend…"

And he was actually blushing. This guy is too innocent.

"Because I want you to get married and live a life of your choice. I knew you were seeing a woman so to give you space and since I had money, I moved out."

Seiya took a deep breath and sighed. Though his father was at fault, Yaeko must also need to understand this situation.

As someone who had seen the movie and also read a little bit of manga, only Seiya knows what Yaeko went through in her life.

In the manga, her piece of shit like husband and his family demanded Yaeko a divorce for 'deceiving' them and giving birth to a 'defected' child.

And at the time of divorce, Yaeko was pregnant too. It was all thanks to Ito that they get to live somehow since her husband didn't also provide for child support money.

Seiya didn't think if his father was unaware of these events but his method of approaching Yaeko was wrong.

He had to groom his father.

He slammed the table and stood. He put his hand in the pocket and using Inventory, he pulled a box of golden needles.

"Pops, I have decided. I am going to make you a man."

"…Look Seiya, I think your heart isn't in right place. We both hate that kind of- wait!!!"

And before Shido could utter more words, Seiya dragged him away in his room. He now has to use his acupuncture technique and massage skills to make his dad a true Alpha, no, a Sigma male.

"So calm…" Miyako took a deep breath of fresh air.

It was Saturday and she didn't have any appointments. Her heart was at ease since her son looks a little more energetic and thanks to a certain narcissist, Shoya wasn't showing any danger signs.

"I can't believe my brother can be this handsome…" Aisu's words escaped as she stared down at her no longer dense-looking big brother.

"Way to go father-in-law!" Utaha made thumbs up.

"Haha, it is to be least expected since he is my father~." Seiya also flipped his hair.

Right in front of them, was a man standing in his early 30s with silky shot hair, eyes without a shed of wrinkles, and skin that could even shame young women of his age.

His attire was consisting of a simple shirt and light-colored cotton tight pants.

No wonder Seiya's mother went for this guy. Shido might be dense and simple-minded but he has the looks of a model. He looked like the CEO of some kind of model agency.

"Hehe…" Shido blushed and scratched his hair.

He was not used to these kinds of things.

"Now, your training starts. First I will show you how to ask for a date."

He got to show his father some methods to hook girls.

Since it was Saturday and Utaha was with him, he decided to demonstrate.

He winked at Utah who also winked and walked towards him.

He then brought her in his arms and spoke, looking directly in her eyes, "Hey girl, wanna go on date?"

"Yes but first, let's make some babies."

"Booya."

And they were about to kiss when Aisu came and smacked their heads.

"Are you guys serious?!" She couldn't believe they were going to kiss in front of Shido who was already hiding his face while looking between fingers like a shy girl.

Though she was also mad at Seiya for not demonstrating with her instead.

"Sigh* I can't do this…" Shido sighed and spoke. He was too shy to ask for a date at his age. He was also afraid of making Yaeko angry.

"Look pops…" Seiya stood while rubbing his head and looked at his father. "If you won't do this, I will do that."

"What do you mean?"

"I will go for that woman."

"Hurray, okyadon!" Utaha cheered despite having a big bump on her head.

It was then the aura around Shido changed. He removed his glasses and looked at Seiya.

"Look son, there is a limit to how far you can go," Shido spoke in a completely different tone. His expression was firm and the air around him felt domineering.

Seiya smiled and lowered his head, "I am sorry, father."

It was a success.

"Of course, there is no one in this world who can claim my woman from my eyes."

Yaeko Nishimiya came out of a hospital in her regular clothes.

It was another tiring day for her but she was used to it. Go home, eat, sleep just to wake up again for work and repeat.

She will die like that.

She didn't mind dying right now but she had to look after her daughters. They were the only reason for this single mother to be alive.

She didn't have any meaning to live besides for them.

Just as she made her way towards the parking lot, she noticed a man leaning on a car opposite to hers.

"You… Shido?" It was the man she met yesterday and thanks to him, she got involved with the police. Though, she looked a little different… handsome.

What is she thinking?!

"So you can call me informally?" The man spoke as he turned around with a smile.

Yaeko widened her eyes a little as the man looked very different from the man she met yesterday. He looked way young and attractive now.

"What do you want?" Yaeko spoke with her regular monotone but a slight redness could be seen on her cheeks.

"I want to invite you to dinner," Shido spoke and opened the door of his car. "Don't worry. I have already informed Ito-san."

"You! How dare you-"

"Yaeko. I promise it will just be dinner. Now I am not that big of a sinner that I can't even ask just for a night, right?"

Yaeko was pissed but Shido was not wrong. What happened 18 years ago was also her fault as she didn't give him a chance to explain and broke up with him. Still, she didn't want to be associated with him.

For now, she decided to go with him so that he won't bother her in the future.

Silently, she walked towards his big car, which was the latest model of Toyota compared to her 90s second-hand car that looks like a small can in front of Shido's car, and sat down.

Shido smiled and went to his seat.

From the side of the street, three pairs of eyes were looking at them.

"How does my father look? He will be your father soon." Seiya raised his brows, asked the shot tomboy.

"How can you ask such an embarrassing question like that?! He has to go through me first!" Yuzuru retorted.

"Does that mean we can become a family?" Seiya smirked.

"Argg!" Yuzuru was frustrated but deep down she was also a little happy and nervous that the person she admired will be going to her father soon. Though it depends on her mother whether she could melt her heart or not for Seiya's father. She then noticed a dark-haired girl dozing on a bench near them. "Who is she?"

"She is my girlfriend, Utaha Kasumigaoka." Seiya also noticed Utaha sleeping.

"You have a girlfriend?!"

"Shouldn't I"

"No… I mean…"

"Come and sit in the car. I will drop you off." Seiya said as he lifted his girlfriend and walked towards his car. It was Aisu's car.

Yuzuru nodded absentmindedly and walked into his car. She didn't know what Seiya's father do to afford two cars.

Shido then drove to a restaurant where he had already reserved a table and sat down with Yaeko.

Yaeko was confused. She thought he wanted to get back at her now that his wife his dead and she is also a divorcee.

But to her surprise, he didn't utter a word on his way. It was then he opened his lips to speak.

"So how was your day?"

"…Normal." She didn't expect him to start such a casual conversation.

The dinner arrived and to her surprise, it was spicy wagyu beef curry. It was her one of the most favorite food but it was very expensive. Just one pound costs at least her month's salary.

Looking back, it was also the dish that Shido brought on their first date. It was Shido's whole annual salary at the time of their university days.

'Huh?'

Yaeko noticed that her eyes were teary. She was confused but her anxiety to be seen by Shido was overcome but…

"Hmm, the beef's juicy but the dish Seiya made was better! Chomp*"

Shido was in his own world-devouring food while praising his son's culinary skills.

Yaeko sighed with a slight smile and rubbed her eyes.

Unknown to her, Shido already noticed the flow of emotions emerging on her face but he decided not to face her for now.

Soon they finished lunch and Shido brought her to her house.

"I will give you a lift for work so don't worry about your car."

"That's not what I am looking for." Yaeko snapped and turned to her grumpy expression, "What do you want to talk about?"

"I have never said I wanted to talk about something. I just wanted to take you out for the night." Shido smiled and extended his arm.

Yaeko flinched as she saw Shiro bringing his arm towards her but to her relief, Shido was only trying to unlock the car door.

"I am ready when 'we' will talk." Shido smiled.

Yaeko didn't say anything and walked out of the car. But just as she was about to enter her house, she heard Shido's call.

"Yaeko?"

She turned around and saw Shido with his glasses removed, carrying a kind smile.

"Take care of yourself. Goodbye."

Yaeko blushed, "…Y-yes. Bye…" She then unlocked the door and leaped inside.

She didn't know why her heart was beating so fast. She must check her blood pressure first.

It was a tiring day but not so much.

"What?" Yaeko asked as she saw her eldest daughter Shoko standing in her pajama with a smug face.

"Yo bushing~!"

"…Go to your room."

"Yesh!" With a smiling face, Shoko ran towards her room.

Yaeko massaged her face and took a deep breath.

"What is happening with my life?" She turned her head above, "Can I trust a man again?"
