Marc went to check on Lorenz in his room. He found Rinei rested beside her son. And was sleeping soundly as the latter.
He stared at the kid for a while before kissing his forehead.
He had always been fond of the kid the moment he was born. Maybe because he reminded him much about his missing uncle, who left without knowing his niece existed at the time.
"What's the problem?" He remembered Reese asking him that while Lowen and Erin left for the restroom.
"Dad came here with Rinei and Lorenz,"
Tennesey can't help but whistle in shock.
"So, you went out in a rush to come to look for us, is that it?"
"I don't want Erin bumping into him yet,"
"You know you can't protect Erin forever,"
"No," he agreed. "But I can delay the inevitable for as long as I need to," he let out a deep sigh. "Erin isn't ready yet. And like I said, I can't lose him again this time."
"How long are you planning to drag this on?"
