Erin watched by the corner of his office window, as Marc's car left the parking lot.
He heard the light creek on the door, and he knew exactly who came in to visit.
"Are you planning to avoid him for the rest of the project?"
"We both know that's not possible," he admitted to himself. "As long as the project goes on, there's still a possibility that he'd use that as an excuse to ask for me,"
"What do you plan to do then?"
He shrugged at the thought he had in mind.
"I know this might sound very unprofessional, But I would like to be taken off the project."
"If that's what you want, I won't force you anymore. Leave all the files to me, and I'll go talk to the boss about this. I'm sure she'll understand."
"Thank you," he genuinely uttered.
If this choice makes him look like he's trying to run from everything again. He'd rather be called a coward than hurt his own family.
