Chasing

Lillian Grey stood in a trance, her body paralyzed, as her brain indulged into the world of questions as she went far away from reality. On the other end, Shane Ricardo noticed Giselle leaving seeing her tears pouring down the moment she turned away from Lillian. Shane saw her figure vanishing as she left his place.

He then turned back to face Lillian who's on the verge of becoming a statue forever as he noticed her controlled movements. It looked as if she wanted to move, but her body restricted it.

"Lillian"

"Lillian!"

"Lillian!!"

Shane kept repeating until he could see her senses back to presence. Lillian's body gave up, and she fell on the floor.

Her strength vanished into the air as she kept gasping out loud. She looked like a drowned person who came back to life; striving to catch her breath.

When she returned to her usual self, her eyes flickered and brows squinting, glancing at her surroundings. She noticed Shane but couldn't hear what he was saying. Her mind still in a stupor unable to operate. She felt like being deaf.

While trying to bring herself out of the memory lane, she remembered Giselle's face again. Her eyes quickly tracked to the spot where she saw the woman, who resembled like the future version of her Giselle.

...

There's none at present.

She panicked, her heart rushing imagining all kinds of possible answers.

'Maybe it was an illusion?'

'Or was it real?'

'She's not here?'

'I don't see her now?'

'Is it real or not?'

'Was that Giselle?'

'If so, then where did she go?'

Lillian's eyes moved as fast as it could, browsing the entire room looking out for a grown woman.

"'Lillian, snap out of it!!!" Shane's voice cried.

Lillian noticed it but didn't respond to his words. Instead, she kept gazing around the room trying to find the person.

Quickly, she stood up. She forced her legs to move as she pushed out Shane and ran outside to follow her woman, Giselle.

Lillian dashed outside running towards the main gate. She saw Bobby, the security guard.

"Bobby! Did you see a woman leaving?" Lillian asked, her abnormal breathing made her stammer.

Bobby informed that Giselle had crossed the road and pointed out the direction she went.

Lillian's hazel brown orbs tracked the path to find the woman's presence. She noticed Giselle walking. As seconds go by, Giselle moves farther away from Lillian, and she didn't like it.

It was no time to follow traffic rules and regulations. Lillian rushed out onto the road, not on a zebra cross or following the signal. She jumped on the road and puzzled her way to cross the street. Her life in danger as the non-busy street is known for the over-speeding zone where a lot of sports car takes over.

She kept her eyes focused on Giselle as she crossed the road.

Suddenly, she heard the tires screeching noise, and when she turned back to look, it was a sports car which raced in a high speed had brought down to halt seeing this crazy woman on the road.

The time when Lillian turned back to look and the car came to a halt was the same. It made Lillian trip down as she landed on her butt brutally. Her face frightened, looking at the car that could have killed her in a second if the driver didn't notice.

"Are you fool, lady? Watch where you going?" the driver yelled out bringing Lillian back on her feet and sense.

She apologized while walking away. A few bruises on her legs as her landing on the ground was harsh. Her jeans torn out with cuts as it started to reveal the blood stain from her injury. Lillian couldn't care about it as she kept pursuing Giselle.

Finally, when she completed crossing the road, the driver restarted his engine and went straight while his eyes glared at Lillian's pathetic state.

As soon as she reached the other side of the road, her eyes once again traced the path to Giselle who is now turning away to another direction. Lillian thanked god for 'Giselle had not crossed another road.' Because, god knows, Lillian would be putting herself in danger once again.

Lillian sighed and exhaled.

She rested for a second and then sprinted towards Giselle. She moved so fast making the people in the neighborhood look at her weirdly. Her blood stains darkened each minute slowly causing her dizziness. She didn't mind it either.

Their distance grew shorter as Lillian kept pushing herself towards Giselle. When she saw the corner and took a hard left, her body twisted giving her sprains on various places. She didn't bother about it too.

Right now, her body had developed a lot of bruises. Some with blood stains, some without blood, sprain on her knees, her right ankle, on her side ribs, her neck pain which killed her the minute she stood back on her feet after the car incident and finally her dizziness which slowly spreading all over her body.

None of that mattered to her except Giselle. She kept running with all her might.

Soon, her vision filled with Giselle's nearby presence as she overtook the lead, turned around, spinning her body back to facing Giselle.

She stopped, catching on her breathing. Her hands on her knees which only aggravated her pain level, she inhaled and exhaled loudly.

Her face down, looking on the ground, she lifted her head a little to see Giselle's feet. All of her sweats dripping down on the floor like the drizzle before the actual rain.

The sense of relief that she felt overthrew the pain emanating from all over her body.

With her figure facing downward, catching a breath, dripping sweat from all over her body, Lillian's eyes flickered, she felt thankful as her decision to chase this woman is worth more than her own life.
