"No." Chen Yiran replied without mercy to Tianxin.
"When did you become so merciless?" Tianxin was instantly displeased.
"I've always been like this." Chen Yiran squinted his eyes at her, "I always keep my distance from those I don't like, not giving anyone the chance to get close."
"Oh..." Tianxin blinked her dewy eyes at Chen Yiran for a moment before suddenly switching topics: "So when I was clinging to you all the time, though you verbally rejected me but kept coming closer, was it to prove you liked me from the start?"
"..." Tianxin's question left Chen Yiran momentarily speechless.
"Actually... are you a man of contrary words and feelings?" Unwilling to let it go, Tianxin continued to ask.
"Bedtime!" Chen Yiran grabbed the blanket, laid Tianxin down and turned off the light without a word. He turned his head to the other side.
With her mouth covered by the blanket, Tianxin burst into quiet laughter.
When she woke up the next day, Chen Yiran had already gone to work.
