The Door to Redemption
Hirvan remained in Elian's office until dark, watching the city lights flicker on as the day melted into darkness. Tonight, he had a plan. He would use Elian as a cover, slipping away from the building unnoticed and sneaking into his apartment in the city. Except for Lu Hanbing, no one knew about this place. He had purchased it in his own name, not as Ren Lian. This little apartment was his escape, a retreat from the burdens that came with his complicated life.
A heavy sigh escaped him as he remembered how even this secret had come to be shared. Lu Hanbing, that possessive and jealous man, had discovered it after weeks of carefully following his every move. Hirvan's lips twitched into a small. For all of Lu Hanbing's jealousy, there was something comforting about it, something grounding.
Hirvan's phone buzzed, snapping him out of his thoughts.
'It was time to go.'
