The next day, Hirvan went to the company as usual, continuing his role as an intern. But something was off. Hirvan could feel it, an unspoken tension from Yestin, the team leader. The man's gaze had turned sharp and unkind, a shift that was impossible to ignore. Worst of all, the tasks he assigned to Hirvan became trivial, meaningless errands that hinted disdain. At first, he did not think much of it but as the days passed, he was sure that the man was doing it on purpose.
Hirvan's first thought was to confront Yestin, and demand to know why he was being treated this way. But he held back. His purpose in joining the team was not to gain a foothold in the department but rather to have access to the site, the Absard land. Exploring it alone would have drawn too much attention. Being part of the team was the safest way to conduct his investigation.
