The fever had subsided somewhat, but not enough to ease his concerns. Sighing, he slipped into bed beside his son, feeling an odd disconnect as he settled into the sheets. Lying beside his son, inhabiting a body that wasn't truly his, the sensation was both surreal and disconcerting.
