In "Thor: Ragnarok," Thor and the Hulk had a fight in the Colosseum on Sakaar. Thor managed to slightly defeat the Hulk with physical strength alone, but only just.
Thor has three times the strength of the Hulk and is more strategic in combat than the Hulk, who fights recklessly. Therefore, Thor can suppress the Hulk with his physical power.
However, Thor's complete form requires Mjolnir, his hammer. With Mjolnir, his strength increases more than tenfold. Anyone unable to lift the hammer would be helpless against him, not to mention his additional powers of thunder and lightning.
I recently gained the recognition of Mjolnir, so I understand its various attack methods. Even if I can't win in a direct confrontation, I can still resist and dodge it. Given this advantage, I might have a chance to defeat Thor.
Thor, naturally skeptical, straightened his back, his eyes flashing like lightning, and said, "Alex, you don't understand. The true strength of a god is far beyond what Earthlings can imagine..."
Before he could finish, Jane suddenly slapped him on the head. "Stop! Are you two done yet? If you keep this up, I'll send you both to the hospital to check if your brains are damaged from fighting!"
Seeing Jane's angry and worried look, Thor relented. "Jane, don't worry. We're just talking. It's rare to meet someone who understands."
"Really?"
Jane looked at them suspiciously, wondering if this was just how men bonded.
Jane is an astrophysicist dedicated to scientific research. She knows little about such interactions.
Remembering how she and her best friend used to role-play and talk, it seemed plausible that Thor and Alex, being men, might be similarly inclined.
"Alex," Thor leaned closer and whispered, "I know where Mjolnir is. Do you want to go see it?"
Jane put her hand on her forehead in exasperation. "Oh my god... are you two ever going to stop?"
With that, he walked out of the bar, and Jane and Alex had no choice but to follow.
Ron, still kneeling, was left behind, unsure whether to continue.
Thor asked, "Jane, do you know where I can find a horse?"
"What do you need a horse for?"
"I want to reclaim what's mine. In Asgard, we perform major ceremonies on horseback."
Jane was exasperated. "You know there are cars, right?"
In the original story, Thor seems clueless about Earth, but as the heir of Asgard who has lived for over 1500 years and traveled through the nine realms, he's seen high technology and wouldn't act like a country bumpkin. He might just find comfort in some retro rituals in his depressed state.
While they were looking around, Alex brought two horses.
Thor laughed heartily and gave Alex a bear hug. "Alex, you truly understand me."
The two rode off towards Mjolnir, chatting and laughing, while Jane, left behind, fumed. What were these two grown men doing?
Jane decided to call Daisy and her colleague Eric. When they returned, Alex and Thor were already far ahead.
Fifty kilometers away, a large tent had been erected around Mjolnir, with people busy inside.
The two of them hid on a hillside, observing.
"Alex, I can sense the hammer inside. I'll be right back."
"Need my help?"
"No, I need to earn Mjolnir's recognition alone."
"Alright," Alex said, chewing a blade of grass.
In the original plot, Thor was captured by SHIELD and failed to retrieve Mjolnir. With his current situation, this might not change.
Thor tried to sneak in, but SHIELD's defenses were tight, and he was discovered before he could get far. Many guards blocked his way, but Thor, even without his powers, was strong and fought his way towards Mjolnir.
Suddenly, a shadow on the tower drew a bow and aimed at Thor. Just as the arrow was about to hit, it was knocked down by a pebble. The shadow, Hawkeye, quickly realized it was Alex who had intervened.
Hawkeye shot three arrows, blocking Alex's possible escape routes. Alex easily caught the arrows, but noticed one was an explosive. He clasped his hands around it just before it exploded, reducing it to black ash.
Hawkeye, realizing he was outmatched, drew another arrow. Alex appeared behind him, saying, "Did Natasha ever mention me to you?"
Hawkeye, surprised, asked, "Who are you?"
"My name is Alex, and I am Natasha's husband."
"Wha... what husband?" Hawkeye was shocked.
"I caught a man named Hawkeye," Alex said into his phone.
Natasha's anxious voice came from the other end. "How is he? You didn't beat him to death, did you?"
Hawkeye was speechless. Was he really that easy to beat?
--
Alex said deliberately, "Why do you care about him so much? Moreover, you also concealed from him that you have a husband. What is your relationship?"
Natasha's rapid breathing came over the phone. "Alex, He's a good friend of mine."
"Good friend? He's not your other husband, is he?"
"No... no, he... he's just a colleague of mine. We had a fake marriage, but... that was required by the mission, and nothing happened between us."
Alex said, "We also had a fake marriage at the beginning, but everything that was supposed to happen did happen."
"This... this... we... we..."
Natasha was so anxious that she didn't know how to answer.
The lying skills she usually train for assassinating targets have never prepared her for dealing with such a complicated relationship between men and women.
But when she married Alex, S did everything she was supposed to do.
If she pretended to be married to Clint and said nothing happened, who would believe it? Being in such a different place, even she didn't believe what she was saying.
This "husband" of mine was very petty when he joined S.H.I.E.L.D. and prohibited me from using my "seduction" skills.
If she don't explain clearly, Clint's life may be in real danger, and Alex might dismantle S.H.I.E.L.D.
However, the more anxious you are, the more your brain freezes.
"Alex, listen to me... Clint has a wife and children..."
"Oh..., do you want me to eradicate them? I will only kill him, not women or children."
"No, no... that's not what I meant... don't do anything yet... let me think..."
Clint was a little dumbfounded. Is this still the Natasha he know?
Regardless of whether the "husband" in front of him is real or fake, Natasha, the more you explain it, the more people will misunderstand.
It wasn't life-threatening at first, but you "explained" it until it was.
Clint had never seen Natasha so distraught.
During normal missions and in life-and-death situations, she might be calmer than himself, and the two of them escaped many times relying on her calmness.
He still has a wife and children, so when it comes to life and death, he will be somewhat concerned and not calm enough, but she never is.
Now she was talking to the man in front of him on the phone, and she was at a loss, afraid that he might misunderstand her. Could it be that he was really her husband?
Why have I never heard of it?
Seeing the naughty smile on Alex's face, Clint immediately realized that he was deliberately teasing Natasha.
"Oops..." Clint suddenly screamed and shouted into the phone, "Natasha, if you don't explain clearly, you'll have to take care of my wife and children."
"Alex... don't do anything. Clint... Clint's child recognizes me as the godmother, and you as the godfather. Don't hurt the child's father."
After a lot of anxious thinking, Natasha finally found such a reason.
"Oh... oh... oh..." Clint kept screaming.
The more Natasha listened, the more something was wrong. The cry was too fake, and she finally realized, "Are you two colluding to tease me? Just wait. Barton, I will complain to your children about you."
"Hahahahahahahaha..." Alex and Clint laughed in unison.
Natasha, on the other side of the phone, was so angry that she gritted her teeth. However, she finally let go of her worries. At least she didn't have to worry about Clint being in danger.
When she wanted to ask them how they met, she found that the phone had been hung up.
Natasha stood blankly on the spot, holding the phone, not knowing whether to cry or laugh.
It should be a joy for your best friend to become friends with your husband.
But when she thought that she was the victim of the two people's prank, she couldn't be happy.
Alex stretched out his hand and said, "Alex, Natasha's husband."
Clint reached out and shook it. "Clint Barton, nicknamed Hawkeye, Natasha's friend."
Compared to Alex's understanding of them, Clint had countless questions in his mind. Just as he was about to speak, there was a sudden roar from the other side of the tent.
"No...Father, why? Why..."
Thor looked up to the sky and roared, full of disappointment.
Having never experienced setbacks, he thought he could become the God of Thunder once he found the hammer.
Who would have thought that after passing through many levels and finally holding the hammer, there would be no reaction at all.
This devastated Thor, indicating that he was not worthy of possessing the hammer now.
At this time, it started raining heavily.
Thor knelt in the mud, motionless, letting the rain and mud splash onto him.
In the original plot, Coulson sent his men to kidnap Thor back to the interrogation room, but with Alex's warning, he politely invited Thor into the room and handed him a towel and hot coffee.
"Hey man, where are you from?" Coulson asked.
Thor looked lonely and did not answer.
"Are you the owner of this hammer?"
Thor shook his head and whispered, as if in reply, but also as if he was talking to himself, "I am not worthy to be its master now. But I don't know what I did wrong, and why?"
After questioning for a while, Coulson had no choice but to leave when Thor just lowered his head and remained silent.
Because Alex was waiting outside.
Hawkeye followed. He didn't have time to ask about Natasha's affairs for the time being. He would deal with the matter at hand first.
In the monitoring room, Alex, Coulson, and Hawkeye looked at the surveillance screen.
Coulson said, "Mr. Alex, is he the hammer's owner you mentioned?"
"Correct!"
"Who is he?"
"A hammer is who he is."
"Uh..." Coulson was speechless.
This riddle is really driving people crazy, but they dare not ask further.
The Eastern man in front of them put more pressure on them than the director.
If he doesn't tell, who dares to ask?!
Since Coulson can't find out that the hammer is Thor's, Alex doesn't want to expose Thor's identity for the time being, so as not to cause any complications.
It's just that Coulson and Hawkeye are depressed.
However, Coulson remembered one thing. "Barton, how did you come in with Mr. Alex?"
Hawkeye said, "I had a fight with him just now..."
"Hiss..." Coulson gasped. "You are still alive? Are you that strong?"
Hawkeye was speechless. But remembering Alex's feat of catching an arrow with his hand, he had no choice but to say, "Mr. Alex, he recognized me."
"Oh..." Coulson suddenly realized. "Natasha must have told him."
Then he added, "Since you have met Mr. Alex, go back and apply to the director to check Mr. Alex's information."
"Shh..."
Alex suddenly touched his lips with his index finger, signaling for silence.
On the monitoring screen, Thor stood up and kept talking to the air.
Coulson and Hawkeye looked at each other. Could it be that the so-called master of the hammer had a mental breakdown and had hallucinations?
But Alex knew that Loki, the god of mischief, should have appeared at this time.
Loki is proficient in illusions, and invisibility is just a small skill.
But the cold and mysterious energy characteristic of him is very obvious.
Although it is very weak, barely present, Alex, with his heightened senses, could barely detect it.
As soon as Loki appeared, he brought shocking news to Thor. "Father is dead."
"How is that possible? He was still fine when I left."
"father's end of life has actually come long ago. In order to rescue us from Jotunheim this time, he used too much divine power. After returning to Asgard, he fell into a coma. He died peaceful."
Thor's eyes were wet. "I want to go back and attend father's funeral."
Loki shook his head. "Exiling you is the condition of the truce with Jotunheim. Mother forbids you to go back. I succeeded as king, and I can't take you back at the risk of a war between the two worlds. I'm just here to inform you."
Upon hearing this, Thor twitched and cried, his tall body curled up, as helpless as a child.
Not only was he unqualified to be the God of Thunder, his father died because of his willfulness, and he almost triggered a war between the two worlds.
Thor felt deeply guilty for his naivety and impulsiveness.
He was even unable to attend his father's last funeral, which made him extremely sad.
However, Thor never expected that all of this was false!
He never thought, nor dared to think, that his brother Loki would use this to lie!
First of all, Odin is not dead at all now; he is just unconscious and recuperating in the medical cabin.
Secondly, the Queen of Asgard did not prohibit Thor from returning. All of this was a lie told by Loki for the sake of a huge conspiracy.
Although Alex couldn't hear Loki's voice, he was familiar with the situation and Thor's reactions, which allowed him to roughly guess what Loki had said.
After a while, Alex sensed a cold energy and decided to leave Thor's room, stepping outside.
He soon arrived at the spot where Mjolnir was resting and observed Loki attempting to lift the hammer. However, Loki quickly realized that his efforts were futile.
Unexpectedly, Loki seemed to sense a hint of ridicule, and his eyes immediately turned in Alex's direction with a sinister gaze.
Alex quickly closed his eyes. The sight of Loki struggling to lift Mjolnir had amused him, as it was unlikely Loki could ever lift it given his character.
But it was surprising that Loki could detect such a faint mental fluctuation.
They say the eyes are the windows to the soul.
As soon as Alex closed his eyes, Loki's senses were thrown off.
Alex wasn't afraid of Loki. Loki's strengths lay in deception and illusions, but his actual combat abilities were not particularly formidable.
In the original story, during the Battle of New York, the Hulk had easily overpowered Loki. Later, when they encountered each other on Sakaar, Loki was so terrified of the Hulk that he wanted to flee at the mere sight of him.
One could only imagine the psychological impact the Hulk had left on him.
With three times the strength of the Hulk and a calm mind, Alex had little reason to fear Loki's illusions. But now wasn't the time for a confrontation.
Of course, if Loki had decided to approach him, things might have turned out differently.
Fortunately, Loki quickly retreated, seemingly uninterested in causing further trouble, and the potential conflict was avoided.
Alex's strange behavior had unnerved Phil Coulson.
Seeing Alex so cautious and silent gave Coulson the impression that they were dealing with a formidable opponent.
If even someone as powerful as Alex had to be careful, any confrontation could be disastrous, especially for the ordinary people present.
The agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. were willing to face danger, but that didn't mean they were eager to face an opponent of this caliber.
Instinctively, Coulson drew his pistol and scanned the surroundings, alert for any threat.
After a moment, Alex spoke: "He's gone. You can put the gun away."
Coulson hesitated, then asked, "Who was that?"
Alex gave Coulson a strange look, remembering that in another timeline, Coulson had died at Loki's hands.
"The person who just left is the one you'll be killed by in the future," Alex said, his tone laced with an eerie certainty.
