#### Marvel Universe 199999
At the Stark mansion, Tony Stark watched the video on the big screen with fascination.
"So, this is Professor X's ability? His mind-reading?" Tony mused, nodding in approval. Even someone as experienced as Tony couldn't help but be impressed.
The video had shown Professor X and Magneto working together to send Wolverine back in time, hinting at Professor X's mind-reading capabilities. Tony initially thought mind-reading simply meant knowing what others were thinking. But he hadn't expected it to reach such an extent, where Professor X could not only read memories but also traverse time through them.
Tony was perplexed. How could Professor X interact with his future self through Wolverine's memories? After all, the future version of himself was just a memory, not a real entity. It seemed absurd to think that the future Professor X could detect his younger self's mind-reading through such a vast time gap.
Due to the fragmented nature of the video and Wolverine's unchanged appearance, the viewers mistakenly believed that Kitty Pryde had physically sent Wolverine back in time. In reality, only Wolverine's consciousness was sent back, existing simultaneously in two different timelines. This allowed the two versions of Professor X to connect through Wolverine's mind.
However, the true nature of this process wasn't clearly shown in the video, leading to misunderstandings. After pondering, Tony concluded that the scene of the older Professor X guiding the younger one was just a manifestation of Charles's inner struggle. It was merely a representation of Charles's internal journey and had nothing to do with the future Professor X.
Nonetheless, the fact that Professor X could read memories was beyond doubt.
#### Amazon Rainforest
Deep in the Amazon, an unexpected community thrived in a corner of the lush rainforest. Wooden houses stood among the trees, and the courtyard was bustling with activity. This unlikely settlement was under the control of Druig, an Eternal with psychic abilities.
Druig sat casually on a wooden stump, observing a floating screen that played the video of Professor X reading Wolverine's memories. Although he didn't show it outwardly, Druig was internally dismissive.
To Druig, Professor X's abilities were rudimentary. Unlike Professor X, who needed to touch a person's head to read their mind, Druig could do so remotely. He could control an entire city's populace or potentially the whole world with his full power. In his eyes, Professor X's skills were child's play compared to his own.
#### X-Men Universe
Charles Xavier felt a wave of discomfort and unease as he sensed the gazes of Quicksilver and Wolverine. The big screen had brutally exposed his vulnerabilities to his teammates, akin to a public humiliation.
This revelation mirrored Charles's current state—his mind plagued by his powers and the emotional turmoil they caused. He had sought refuge in alcohol to numb the pain and had long given up on reclaiming his former strength. The video highlighted his inner struggles and explained why he had become so despondent.
Quicksilver broke the silence with a teasing remark, "So, this is why you can't use your powers? I thought I was the only useless one."
"Shut up," Charles snapped, glaring at Quicksilver before turning his attention back to the screen, using the video to mask his embarrassment.
As the video continued, Charles saw his future self connecting with him through Wolverine's memories. This revelation shocked him—could it really be so simple to overcome his psychological barriers? Just by reading Logan's memories?
Technically, this was entirely feasible for Charles. However, the real question was whether he was willing to face his fears and make a change. Charles himself was uncertain.
But as the older Charles's words began to resonate from the screen, they struck Charles deeply, like a wake-up call. It wasn't a matter of technique but of inner resolve and courage.
Realizing this, Charles felt a stirring within. The path to reclaiming his powers was clear; all that remained was for him to take the first step.
