After writing more than a hundred chapters, I thought about leaving another review of what to expect. 1. The prologue chapters. I see readers complaining about why the mc did what he did and some even drop the novel because of it. All I have to say to that is wait for an explanation. It's tied into the plot of the first volume so it would be mediocre storytelling if I mentioned telling you what it is in the beginning. There will be bits and pieces of clues scattered about while leading up to the reveal, but that's not the immediate focus for the first chapters of the volume. 2. The overall theme of the volume. Character development, a lot of it, with tension caused by the foreshadowing of mysterious future events. It's not your typical Cultivation novel where the main character acts weak and avoids conflicts only to have arrogant young masters pop up to fight him, no, it's much more realistic than that. There will be 3d side characters with a backstory of their own, people who'll have real human interactions with the mc. Some readers might, or rather, will be put off by that if they don't like nontraditional Chinese novels, and for those readers I'll just say go out and try something new, maybe you'll like it. 3. Character behaviour. Li Xi Shen is not perfect, and neither is he an old monster who knows everything. He does think himself to know everything, hence the shameless Mc tag, but as the reader, you'll come to realize certain flaws would seep through the cracks of his self claimed perfect persona. His character is a literal onion dealing with trauma from his past, and his struggle to find the right direction in his new life. That's most of what I can gather about the first hundred chaps off of the top of my head. Oh, and I should mention the plot is rather stable, it's neither fast nor slow, just moving at a stable pace where readers can enjoy some action here, character development there, and some agonizing foreshadowing as well. Don't drop this book because of the misconception I created at the beginning, where you think this will be another common, boring cultivation novel. I build on that familiar trope in order to create something unique. Read my novel, you won't regret it.

I bet the author is Gay who thinks being straight is too cliche. And Do you think you are George rr Martin or something? Do you believe that a newbie writer would have such trust from the reader that they would read every single chapter to look for the reason instead of dropping it right away? The first chapters are very crucial for world-building and character-building. cuz first chapters are read without skipping a single word. You can't just keep such infromation hidden as plot hanger? if you dont know what plot hanger is its hiding something that would keep the readers hanging throughout the book. plot hanger isn't something that you can easily pick. and depriving readers of such a useful info like the reason of the mc transfering his talents is just the worst type of plot hanger you can find

And for the love of Christ, stop looking for an explanation for what happened in the PROLOGUE chapters... between the period of those events and where chapter one starts it's FOURTEEN God dang years, you don't know what happens during those years so read to find out...

A LOT, unfortunately... for some reason readers kept saying, "I don't get why the mc blessed the guy who tried to kill him when he was a baby"...like the amount wrong in that question hurts my brain...
