The moment he enters the wizarding world every wizard seems to be carrying a couple 100.000 punds worth of Galleons in their pocket. with a population of approximately 3000 he somehow manages to steal 15.000.000 G in one day, not from gringotts from Passerby. even if he increased the wizard population to 100.000 in this novel in britain, each and every one of them would need to carry 150G in their pockert and his system would have to steal money everytime to make it. The mc stays in the leaky couldron for a couple months for 10 G just to give you an idea of a Galleons buying power. Sickles are clearly the main currency.
