These check in novels are everywhere. At least put some spin on it. What if relationship checkmarks / benchmarks = 1 check in? That would allow the author to focus more on story and can be a convient scapgoat when people ask why a certain thing happens. Or if you want to go really meta, have a reincarnation back in time, where they can only “sign in” when a plot point from their memories reoccurs, and it’s stronger the closer to their old memories that point is. The Protag has to balance using their powers while trying to mitigate the butterfly effect. I don’t know. Just looking for something new in the inevitable sign in genre that trial reads has become.

giốngEh. At least then they have a reason to push the plot along. Too many times it becomes just signing in to get more broken things, without any goal or plot development. It’s like being the strongest player in a game no one plays. Strength growth is an important part in most novels, but there needs to be a reason to USE the strength, so we can SEE the abilities in action.
Adolf:Sounds a bit dumb tbh but A for effort
Ooo. That sounds interesting. Got any decent novels that are translated? I tried reading raws but my inner grammar nerd pulls a reverse uno card everytime.
Astolfo_My_Waifu:2nd idea sounds like those korean novels where the stronger/closer they become to their fate the more abilities they gain
