- I agree with you, Though he's quite intelligent. currently he's betting on Silky for most of things. Those high tech things are out of his reach for now. It's mentioned in chaps just to make his character more compelling. As some things like gene editing, etc are more like future projects. - a magical pouch gifted by a Dwarf. - Silly looks like a infrared thermometer.
