Chapter 15- Excalibur

"you seem to have able to defeat Lancelot. That is no ordinary feat." a voice suddenly said. After that, a lady in white robes and with a really long blonde hair emerged. This lady really looks so enticing. You can see her really long eyelashes that emphasize her ocean blue eyes. Her skin is white but not so white that she looks pale. Her red lips are even more alluring because of how white she is .

"Are you perhaps seeking for the Excalibur?" She asked as she floats above the lake.

I stepped up and answered her.

"Yes my lady, it is indeed the Legendary Sword of the King of the Knights, the Excalibur, that's we are seeking for." I can sense that this Lady is no small matter, so I needed to talk to her with utmost respect.

The Lady smiled.

"Well then, are you the one who's gonna use it?" She asked me.

"No my lady. We know of the tale about only a descendant of King Arthur Pendragon can wield the sword, but you must know that his kin has long perished." I smiled back as I answer.

"Then so, why are you still seeking for it?"

"My friend here" I paused and gestured my hand to point at Arthur. "Is a relative of the Pendragons. She's a Pendalton, which is a really close branch family of sorts with Pendragon." I have read about the Pendragons in the books from the library. Not a lot knows of this fact. The Pendaltons had to deny any connections they had with the Pendragons for survival.

"A Pendalton? Aren't they the traitors who only think of the their own?" She asked, not breaking her smile.

"Yes my lady, it is as you said. But I must say, if not for their own selfishness, the bloodline of the Pendragons would've ended at the Great War. Also, the sins of their ancestors should not be held to the descendants for they were not there when it happened. If you look closely to my friend, you can see what I'm talking about."

The Lady nodded and looked at Arthur again. A small trace of shock appeared on her face.

"This... what's your name?" she asked Arthur.

"I... I am called Arthur my lady. Arturia Huriel Pendalton." Arthur answered.

The Lady dazed for a second before talking again.

"Like how the Wyverns still have the Dragons' bloodline, the Pendragon's blood still runs on you, a Pendalton. Very well then, I must take you to the Sword." She the scanned our group.

"Unfortunately, I can only take four people with me, including my Knight Lancelot, that leaves you three. The rest of you must leave or just stay here." The lady said.

I looked at Heist and Azure.

"Brother." I muttered.

"It's alright brother. This is your quest. You three should go. I'll stay here in the dungeon for a while with my team to train before leaving. This experience alone is enough merit to test the waters of our abilities." Azure said, smiling. Dorothy and Fifth just nodded. Fifth seems to be okay with it, I thought he'd be the one to argue against it.

"It's the same with us Azrael. You have nothing to worry about, especially with us. We are just going to take the opportunity to train here before training for real for the upcoming event." Heist said, smiling. Romeo and Juliet just nodded along in unison.

I sighed a deep breath and smiled.

"I guess I'll see you in the event then." I said.

They just nodded. Light suddenly enveloped my vision and a strange sensation run through my veins. Spatial Magic huh.

The light faded out and the scene that welcomed us is entirely different.

We were floating atop a cliff. With me are the Lady and Alice. Arthur on the other hand is on the land. In front of him are twenty four knights, including Sir Lancelot. If I remembered correctly, these are the Knights of the Round Table formed by King Arthur. They are Sir Lancelot, Sir Galahad, Sir Gawain, Sir Percival, Sir Lionel, Sir Tristan de Lyones, Sir Gareth, Sir Bedivere, Sir Bleoberis, Sir Lacotemale Taile, Sir Lucan, Sir Palomedes, Sir Lamorak, Sir Bors de Ganis, Sir Safer, Sir Pelleas, Sir Kay, Sir Ector de Maris, Sir Dagonet, Sir Degore, Sir Brunor le Noir, Sir Lebius Desconneu, Sir Alymere, and Sir Mordred. These knights are one of the greatest strength of King Arthur. It seems like when he left the sword in the Stone, he left his Knights with it.

"Before getting the Sword, you must first face these knights to see if you're worthy of such treasure. These is also the condition King Arthur left." The Lady of the Lake announced to Arthur

"But my lady, we even have a hard time dealing with Sir Lancelot earlier. Facing twenty four knights with strength the same, if not stronger than him, seems like an impossible task. " Arthur exclaimed, but making sure that she doesn't sound demanding and/or disrespectful.

"You need not to worry. This is your test to see if you are worthy to lead these knights. You'll only be tested with your swordsmanship and tactics in fight." the Lady explained. "Ah wait, I just remembered... There is this one condition that the late King Arthur set."

The face of Arthur brightened.

"What is it? What is it?" She excitedly asked.

"I believe it is to choose among these knight to fight against. This time, you need to defeat him though."

"That- well, I guess it that much is better thab facing them all at once." Arthur mumbled.

"Don't worry. You and the chosen knight will only spar through swordmanship. No sword energy and other external abilities will be involved. If you you manage to make the knight use one, it is considered your victory. Obviously, that also applies to you. Once you use sword energy, you are no longer qualified to be the owner of the sword." the Lady explained further.

"I understand. Just give me a minute to choose my opponent." Arthur said.

The Lady said nothing and just smiled at Arthur. After that, the Lady looked at me and Alice. She seemed like assessing us.

"Hmm. You two, come with me." she said.

"Where to?" I asked.

"You are qualified to test out a legacy even Merlin can't pass. I can sense that you surpass his understanding with magic. That's a rare occurrence considering Merlin is known to be on top when it comes to Magic. Although, it is also known that Merlin is a dedicated elementalist and was unable to fully grasp other types of magic." she said. I just nodded. To be told that I somewhat surpassed Merlin is an honor. This legacy might help me become stronger.

"You little girl, are qualified to enter Rednow Land." The lady said.

"Rednow Land?" Alice wondered.

"Ah yes. it's another dimension that also runs a different time." the Lady replied as she keeps looking around. It seems like we are already on a different plane. Arthur and the knights are no longer within our sight.

"Ah there he is." The Lady exclaimed. A rabbit then came.

"Hello Lady Nimueh, I sensed an aura here that certainly belongs to Rednow land. " the rabbit spoke.

"Yes Mr. Bunny. I was just about to call you, Lady Alice here might be the one you are looking for." the Lady replied.

"Lady Alice huh?" the rabbit, Mr. Bunny, then looked at Alice. "Cheshire Cat!" he exclaimed. "Lady Alice, you might really be the chosen one. Please follow me to the rabbit hole and I'll explain everything to you after that." Alice looked at me, I just nodded at her. She then followed Mr. Bunny.

"Now Mr. Gideon, it's time for you to get the legacy."
