CH 59: Might of the Swordsouls

"W-wait!" Chancellor Sheppard tried to stop them, but they simply rushed to stand in front of Alistair. Everybody was dumbfounded. The teachers, except Dr Crowler, suddenly just grew angry out of nowhere and decided to agree to the duel. It was like they were suddenly mind controlled or something.

Well, not mind control, just their emotions being manipulated a bit. Alistair had quite a few reasons to love his Spellcasters, and this was one of them. Made provoking people into dueling oh so much easier. After all, with his fame, who would dare easily duel him?

That was just asking to be embarrassed and humiliated. So to ensure he would be able to duel easily, he would ask for the assistance of his dear monsters. And boy oh boy were they always glad to be of help.

"I'm sorry to act rude, but I'm simply not someone who would miss a chance like this to earn money!" This time, when he changed his deck, he placed a certain one that morally, just shouldn't be played in this era. "Let's start this show!" With a shout, the duel began.

"And I'll go first! Don't worry though, I won't go out of my way to traumatize you as an apology." He drew a card. Looking at his hand, remembering the nostalgia, he couldn't help but chuckle. Especially seeing Infinite Impermanence and Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring. Sure as hell didn't bring any joy when played as far as he remembered.

"Perfect. First, I'll summon Swordsoul of Taia on attack position!" With a flash of light, a swordsman holding a glowing blue blade, with long red hair and a long tail, protected by his white armor, appeared on the field.

The duel has just begun and his side of the field was already filled with two monsters and three tokens. Although the teachers were mad, they also paid great attention. And with how nobody knew about the cards he was playing right now, they couldn't afford to lose focus.

Smiling from how stupid he sounded, he brought upon the monsters that gave him so much nostalgia. Seriously, the cringe running down his spine was just funny. He was actually blushing, but for these legends, he needed to show off. Especially Baronne de Fleur. That hoe was everywhere but in her own deck.

"And that's it for my turn. See, I told you I would go easy on ya." He ended his turn. "If that's called going easy, I don't even wanna think about what getting serious means!" Syrus shivered. Everybody else nodded. Except Chazz, he still had a stick up his ass.

Alexis :"Oh, no! If that happens, Alistair will be left wide open!"

Bastion :"Yet he's still smirking?"

Zane, smirking :"I think it's about time you figured that Al really isn't a fan of leaving his monsters defenseless."

"Sorry to break it to ya, teach." The noiret smirked :"But I'll have to stop you from doing that! I activate Baronne de Fleur's effect! Once per turn, I can negate the activation of an effect you've activated and destroy that card!"

"What?!"

"And that's not all! I also chain that with Swordsoul Sinister Sovereign's effect! Once per turn, when you activate a spell or trap card, I can banish it, and deal you 1,200 points of damage!"

"Wait, what?! Oh no!"

Snapping his whip sword, Swordsoul Sinister Sovereign slashed it towards the opponents, cutting through the spell card and through the teachers, causing them to groan in pain.

"And that other monster makes the situation even worse!"

As the teachers grew nervous, Jaden grew clueless :"Huh? Wait a minute, why did he use the Baronne monster's effect too when that Swordsoul Sinister Sovereign could already solve that Dark Hole? Wasn't that just a waste of her ability?"

Zane :"I think it's because Baronne de Fleur just banishes the card, but doesn't negate it."

Bastion :"Yes, I think so too. Although the card will take effect if it's a normal spell or trap, the player will still take a stinging 1,200 points of damage."

Jaden :"Ohh, so Al activated both effects so that not only would he deal damage, but also get rid of that Dark Hole!"

Syrus :"That's a brilliant move! I would have totally missed that part if it was me. I seriously should remember that detail."

Chumley :"So lischus!"

Alexis :"Jaden, Syrus, hadn't they taught that in class? Did you two seriously sleep through it all?"

Jaden/Syrus laughed awkwardly. On the field, the teacher clicked his teeth :"Damn it, then I'll summon Marauding Captain in defense mode! And when Marauding Captain is normal summoned, I can special summon another Lv 4 or lower monsters from my hand! And I choose to summon another Marauding Captain, also in defense mode!"

"Sorry, but I won't let you do that either!" As if on cue, Alistair answered :"My Swordsoul Sinister Sovereign's second effect activates!"

"Another one?!"

"Seriously?!"

Alistair :"Yeah, and it's one hell of an effect! When you special summon a monster, I can banish it, and deal you another 1,200 points of damage!"
