Future Plans

I mumbled in confusion. "I feel pain in the afterlife? No, no in the first place is this even afterlife? I have to find out!"

I instantly stood up from the bed, and stared at the younger version of my wife, to be specific a teenager version, then I raised my hand.

When she saw that I raised my hand, she immediately put up a defensive posture and exclaimed. "You're gonna hit me?! You're going to hit back aren't you?!"

Despite her shout, I didn't listen and moved my hands toward her face, probably scared by my action, Tsubaki closed her eyes, as I pinched her cheeks.

"It's soft….no this is...no way..! Impossible!" I immediately thought of something absurd. 'If what I thought had really happened...no but it's impossible...but what if!'

I was having self-doubt, while I forgot that I was still pinching Tsubaki, she was glaring at me but I was too focused on what happened to me.

Then, I suddenly thought of what I should do next.

"Let's...see….ah yes that's right if what I thought of really happened, my appearance should have changed! I need a mirror..! Mirror…" I stopped pinching Tsubaki and went to find a mirror.

Tsubaki glared at me, but at the same time, she was truly confused by my actions. She wondered what he ate last night to act like this.

She thought. 'Should I consider calling the hospital?'

After a few moments of looking for mirrors, I finally found a mini mirror, and I immediately looked at myself only to see my younger face.

If I remember correctly, this was my appearance back when I was still in junior high, and with this my guesses from before were right.

"Although it's unbelievable and sounds absurd, I may have traveled from the past after I died! I have plenty of questions on my mind right now like, how is this even possible? But If this is my younger still...I have to act natural or else, someone I know might send me directly to the hospital...I rather not risk it." I stopped looking at the mini mirror and looked at Tsubaki with a confused expression.

"U-uh huh? Tsubaki? What are you doing in my room?! Wait, how'd you even get inside here?! Who permitted you to go?"

'Is this how my teenager self acts? No idea, but let's see if this works.' I thought to myself.

Hearing that, she panicked a little, knowing that it's illegal to go to someone else's property without a person, but she had a reason why went inside Kousei's.

She was worried, yesterday they agreed that they should go to school together, but it's already past 6 AM! It's already 7 in the morning!

At this rate, they will be late and this is Kousei's fault!

"I-it doesn't matter if I go inside or not! We're close enough for me to do this kind of thing! Aside from that! You quickly change! It's already so late! Hurry! Hurry!" She managed to quickly change the subject.

My acting worked, that was a close one, now I need to prepare for school, then I thought. 'School huh? I never thought-'

When I thought about school, my thoughts went blank that. If this was the past, that means that there is a possibility that she's alive right?

Thinking of that made my heartbeat in excitement, if this was really before she died, then I had a chance to save her!

"Hey, Tsubaki, just a question, what year are we right now?"

"Huh? Are you still half-asleep? It's our 3rd year of junior high!" She gave Kousei a suspicious look.

"Oh, so you do remember good, you're not half-asleep!" I smiled at her.

"Wh- you're kidding right?" She looked at him weirdly.

"Nope, also can you stop dragging my shirt? Want to come with me in the bathroom?" I said it like it was no big deal.

"Wh-what?! Who says I'm going in with you?! Go! Go in by yourself!" She pushed me straight to the bathroom and closed the door.

Back in the past, they used to take a bath often, and naturally, they did it inside the bathroom bIG deal, but then again this was still the past. Tsubaki and I aren't in a relationship, I'm single and probably at this time, she hasn't realized her feelings for me.

Since she did talk about it with me in the future, then my expression became serious.

"3rd year junior high, I don't even have a year left to cure her... I can't get a doctor's license within a few months, much less getting a medical degree... but I can't get enough money for her surgery, since the medicine that is needed for this treatment is very expensive. A lottery is an easy way but I don't know the exact number nor I can buy a ticket due to my young age.. but I do know a more efficient way of making money...stocks! I May not remember the lottery that much, but surely I know the stock's future movement this is going to be easy." I grinned at the mirror in front of the mirror.

Though there are plenty of ways for me to earn money through the internet, the stock was the fastest way for me to get a huge amount of money in a short time. At the current timeline, the internet security was kind of weak, compared to the future, almost flawless.

Making a fake adult I.D on the internet is very easy for me, who would have thought that learning programming came in handy, I only learned it because I'm bored.

I finished taking a bath, and I found that there was already a towel and my uniform inside the bathroom, surely it wasn't there before, it was obvious that Tsubaki put them inside.

"How sweet of her, it's like we're a husband and wife, technically it's not wrong but we aren't on this timeline…"

After wearing the uniform, I went outside my house to look for Tsubaki, then I saw her waiting for me, I smiled and approached her.

"Let's go, Tsubaki."

".... We're late... seriously we can't make it on time! This is your fault." She glared at me.

I lifted glasses with my fingers and said. "Allow me to take responsibility."

"Eh? What do you mean?

"Let's go take a bus instead of walking!"

"But, I don't have any-"

"I'll pay since I'm responsible." Without wasting any time, I held her hand while running toward the nearest bus stop.

Tsubaki wasn't able to react, but after being dragged by me, she was looking at my back and mumbled.

"He... changed..? Kousei wouldn't normally do this kind of thing because he's a coward. I don't know what happened yesterday but, this change isn't so bad... " Tsubaki smiled behind my back, and I wasn't aware of this.

Somehow we managed to go to our school without being late, we separated after we got into the school building, and we're in a different section after all.

Honestly, I have a strong urge to follow her right now, because if I remember correctly she's in the same class with Kaori, and I can't wait to see her again.

But I was able to hold it, so I went to my classroom, and after I got inside I was greeted by a handsome hunk.

"Hey, you're finally here Kousei I thought you were going to be late for sure!" Ryōta grinned and covered my neck with his arm.

Looking at this guy, who would have thought that in the future, he would become an international football player.

While this guy was more popular than me in the future, it's not the same for our assets. There's a big difference while his assets could make a common man droll, my assets could make a middle-class family droll.

After all, I used to be the CEO of the No. 1 private hospital in Japan in the future.

"Just overslept a little...yawn~" I acted sleepy in front of him.

"I get that feeling! Oh, the school bell rang, talk to you later." Ryōta left and went back to his table.

I went to my table, even though it was already a long time, I still remember where I sat, sitting at this table again a wave of nostalgia came to him.

"To think, I will have a chance to sit at this table again.. life is full of surprises." Then their class started.

I paid extra attention to every subject because it's been a long time since I studied. Having a high IQ has some perks. Just listening to the subject makes him understand it immediately.

It's just too bad his IQ is limited by understanding and not memorizing.
