CHAPTER EIGHTY NINE

Logan kisses me as we strolled arm in arm into the ruined mansion!

With his arm still around me, Logan led me to where his grandmother sat, on her throne with her head in her hands, shaking it, while mom stood in front of her, unaffected by her mother in law's grief and whatever happened earlier.

Logan and I walked up to her, and he kneels in front of her, "grandmother" he calls softly her head jerked up.

"Logie" she cried, wrapping her arms around his neck pulling him towards her. "My sweet boy, I've missed you so much" she continues crying, clinging to him.

To an outsider like me, it appears that Logan loves his grandmother, just as I loved mines.

With one hand wrapped around her frail shoulder, still gripping mines with the other. I slowly tried to extract my hand from his, but he tightens his grip, turning to glare at me.

"LOGAN!" screams Jessica, who runs towards Logan and his grandmother, throwing an arm around Mrs. Daniels shoulder and another over Logan's, resting her chin on his head. My fingers dug into the palm of his hand.

Logan stands slowly, removing his hand from around his grandmother, while Jessica stands up still clinging to him.

"Logan, dad needs your help here" Logan's father called for his attention and he nod.

"Excuse me Jessica" he moves away, taking me with him.

Logan joined his father and grandfather, who were speaking to cops, who held abstracts that they were showing to the three Daniels.

The elder Mrs. Daniels lifted his eyes to meet mines and the cold hatred I saw before leaving this mansion is still evident in his eyes.

"Excuse me miss" he addresses me his eyes icy cold, "this is a family matter" he turns to the cops for their input, expecting agreement from them.

I wrapped my two hands around Logan's arm, observing the non-family members also present.

Logan tightens his hold on me and lifted his eyes to meet his father, who lifting his eyebrows, silently gives us permission to leave.

Mom, walks ahead and out the door, causing dad to chuckle softly.

"I'm sorry, but I'll be in touch" Logan extends his free hand to the cop, whose in charge. "I'll just get my wife home" Logan smiles leading me out, but I didn't miss the surprise look that passed between the cops present.

"Logie" Mr. Daniels, calls, "I need you here! Your grandmother and I need you here " he shouts to our retreating backs.

Dad's remaining so Justin choose to remain behind with two other guys, while mom, Cameron, Jer and I left for the cabin.

I didn't realized Jessica followed us until I heard my name, "Jamie," I stopped and met Logan's now cold expression before, turning around to make eye contact with my baby sister.

My expressionless eyes, moisten at the sight of her but at the same time, the coldness returned, as I remember, being pushed into the lake.

With a sad smile, I nod at her and walked towards dad's vehicle which was parked behind Logan's.

"JAMIE!" Jessica shout but I continue walking with tears, brimming my eye lids, when Jer came up to me.

"She doesn't deserve it. She doesn't deserve us!" he growls, opening the back door of dad's SUV for me with Cameron helping mom on the other side, before joining Logan in the front.

Sitting in the middle of Jer, my buff brother was not a comfortable ride but I adjusted myself, shoving his leg more than once. attracting Logan's attention.

Lifting his head to observe me in the rearview mirror, "you okay?" he asked but his eyes went beyond me, tilting his head, alerting Cameron to focus on his side mirror.

"Call it" he instructed Cameron, whose phone was already in his hand typing briskly, his jaws clenched tightly

Moving to turn, "don't Jamie." Logan's abrupt tone stopped me, but I met his eyes in the mirror, "we're being followed and we need to keep our position secured so I am going for a detour." he turn to Cameron, "where are we going?"

Tilting his neck with an annoying cracking sound, "breakfast" he starts punching the location on the vehicle's GPS.

Chuckling, "I hope you guys are hungry, I know my baby is." Logan says pulling into a driveway of the Tarven that caters early morning breakfast, where my family and I visited on many occasions.

"Jamie is always hungry," Jer comments dryly, opening his door, stretching his legs and his arm, revealing for the first time, a gun?

Staring motionlessly, at the gun, "you have a gun," I whispered softly, lifting my eyes to look at him, then around the small carpark, where there were only four visible vehicles and one was ours.

Mom touches my arm, "we have to go in" she tells me and I stare into her blue eyes, full of worry.

"Are we going to eat" I ask even though I am not hungry, yet!

Laughing loudly, "told you, she's always hungry" Jer laughs, keeping the door open for me. I came of and slapped his shoulders as Logan came out drawing me closer to him, kissing me.

"Logan," I whispered against his lip, but he used that opportunity to deepen our kiss and open PDA is something I have never been comfortable with. Drawing me closer, Logan bent his head while I tiptoed to meet him.

I felt something being pushed into the front of my pants waist. Logan watched me with a sad smile that scared me.

"Are we in trouble?" I looked at mom and Cameron. Mom stretches out her hand.

"Come and don't look back, don't matter what." she kept a hand in her handbag and one outstretch to me.

"Go with mom, I'm just going to lock up the vehicle." Logan says, head bent, staring sideways, "go Jamie, now." he pleads with his eyes but fear kept me rooted in one spot. "Now" he growled softly, giving me a slight push towards mom as Cameron comes beside him.

Mom and I walked into the Tarven, when mom started walking towards the back entrance, "aren't we ordering breakfast?" I ask looking back at the cashier and further back, out into the car park where Logan was driving off leaving mom and I.

"Quickly Jamie." mom whisper shouts, glaring at me. We bolted through the back entrance straight into a police car.
