Players pick 5 numbers from 1 to 70 and one number from 1 to 25. Guessing all numbers correctly would win you the jackpot.

Theoretically, picking numbers based on a pattern, such as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, gives you just as high odds to win as picking random numbers. However, it's actually one of the worst things you could do.

If you somehow lucked out to an insane degree and actually won the jackpot, you'll be sharing your winnings with a large amount of... similar minded people. You would thus earn much less. This would in turn drastically reduce your risk reward ratio making the lottery an even dumber thing to attempt.
