Resilience Unleashed Part 2

Yukiko stood tall, her chest heaving with exertion.

"Don't you get close to him!" she warned, her voice low and deadly.

Toru's eyes narrowed, his brow furrowed in confusion. "How is she moving?" he asked, his gaze fixed on Yukiko's battered form.

"Those injuries on her body... they're severe." 

"How is she still standing?!"

Misuki's eyes dropped, her face contorting in anguish.

" How is she still standing?!" she exclaimed, her voice barely above a whisper.

"To protect Kaito... She's..." Her words trailed off, her eyes welling up with tears.

Misuki's hands clenched into impotent fists, her body trembling with frustration.

"Why am I useless?!" she muttered, her voice cracking with despair.

"He's always protecting me,"

"And I can't do anything to help him..." Her words dissolved into a sob, her body shaking with sobs.

'Why am I useless?!" she repeated, her voice rising in desperation.

"Why am I...?" Her words trailed off, lost in her anguish.

Yukiko fell on one knee,

"Yukiko!" Mizuki yelled, 

'She's weak... She doesn't have the energy...' She thought 

"With those injuries..." Hatoshi 

Hatoshi sneered, "But you can't stop me!"

Yukiko gasped, 

"You're in my way!" Hatoshi said in amusement, he swung his hand sending smoke bullets downwards toward then

Yukiko clenched her teeth and was about to stand, but she fell again 

" Razor Surge," Mizuki's voice filled the air, and then water crystalline razors began swirling around her in a dazzling display.

The razors shimmered and pulsed with a soft, blue light

She launched the razors toward Hatoshi, its crystal-clear edge slicing through the smoke. The razors dissolved into mist as the water slash passed through.

The water slash continued its path, dashing through the air with a razor-sharp edge that seemed to gleam in the light.

It struck Hatoshi's cheek with a cut. Then, it zoomed off into the wall, leaving a trail of smoke in its wake.

Hatoshi's eyes widened in shock, "What?!"

Misuki's eyes blazed, 'Kaito has been protecting me always!' She thought,

' I have to protect him this time!' She raised her hands, shaping sharp water icicles that glimmered in the light.

"Icicle Strike!" she cried, hurling the icicles at Hatoshi.

It hit Hatoshi's leg, and it turned into smoke but it made him fall,

'Water?!' Hatoshi thought, his voice laced with disbelief.

'It dissolved me!'

'Her water is dissolving my smoke?' he thought.

Misuki's eyes blazed, "I won't let you hurt him!" she exclaimed, her voice ringing through the air.

"You're going down!" She hurled thirty more icicles at Hatoshi, their frozen tips glinting like a thousand tiny knives.

Hatoshi leaped, jumping over his smoke cloud. He dodged five icicles with ease, then landed on the cloud and moved to the right, avoiding ten more with a fluid motion.

'There are too many!' he thought, his mind racing with frustration.

One icicle grazed his ear, cutting through his smoke form and sending a plume of mist into the air. Hatoshi grunted, his eyes flashing with pain, and waved his arm.

His entire being dissolved into smoke, allowing him to move up into the air with an ethereal grace.

As he hovered above the ground, his eyes fixed on Misuki with a growing resentment.

'She's annoying, but not too hard to handle' he thought.

'The issue is her...' His gaze shifted to Yukiko, who stood panting heavily, her eyes blazing with a fierce intensity. 

Hatoshi's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with caution. 'I can sense it!' he thought.

'She has a power I shouldn't mess with... '

The cave began to shudder and tremble. Dust and debris started to fall from the ceiling.

He snarled, 'Ok then, I'll just take my partner and leave!'

You can't stop me anyways, so....'

As he spoke, the walls began to crumble, the ground shaking beneath their feet.

Toru's eyes widened in horror, "This place is collapsing!" he shouted, his voice barely audible over the din of falling rocks.

"The battle must have weakened it!" 

" We're going to be caved in!" 

"Let's get out of here!"

Yukiko's gaze darted around the disintegrating cave, her hand instinctively covering Kaito's battered form.

But before she could move, a smoke hand descended from above, grasping Kenshiro's unconscious body and pulling him up to the smoke cloud.

Hatoshi's voice dripped with triumph as he pulled out a silver gem, "At least... we have what we've been looking for."

But Yukiko stood firm, her teeth clenched in defiance. "You aren't getting away..." she growled, her eyes blazing.

She was about to leap into the air when Mizuki's desperate scream cut through the chaos. "Yukiko, grab Kaito! "

"He needs medical treatment, please!"

Yukiko's eyes flicked between Hatoshi and Kaito, then she scooped up Kaito's unconscious form and ran toward Mizuki and Toru.

The ceiling groaned, chunks of rock falling to the ground. Mizuki's eyes were wide with fear, "How will we get out of here!?"

Toru carried Hana on his back, while Mizuki carried Riasa. Yukiko carried Kaito, her eyes fixed on the crumbling ceiling.

Toru called out, "Riasa!"

"A little help!"

"Please!'

Riasa's voice was weak, "The mirror in my pocket..."

"Carry it"

Toru quickly retrieved the mirror from Riasa's pocket.

"Hit it on the floor, " She continued

"And we'll fall into my mirror dimension!".

He slammed the mirror onto the ground. The world around them shattered, and they fell into a dark, mysterious realm continuing their descent through a seemingly endless expanse of silvered glass.

Toru's voice echoes through the void, "Whoa!"

Yukiko's cry follows, "We're falling!"

Misuki's face set in a determined expression, her eyes fixed on Kaito's battered form, "...I won't let him die."

The cave disintegrates above them, its ruins crashing to the forest floor.

A lone mirror on a tree trunk shatters, and they tumble out, crashing into the underbrush.

Toru grunts, "Ugh!" Hana and Riasa cough, struggling to stand.

Misuki's hands move with a desperate urgency, encasing Kaito in a water bubble.

"He isn't dying on me!" she whispers, her eyes pleading.

"Kaito!"

"Please don't die!" The water glows with a soft blue light, cleansing Kaito's blood. Misuki's voice cracks and the light stops glowing,

"That's all I can do!"

"Please, it should work!"

All eyes fixed on Kaito who stayed quiet for a moment, Mizuki's eyes began to water, Yukiko's eyes widened, and Squad Beta was worried

Immediately he gasped for air, his chest heaving. "F..." he whispers, his voice barely audible.

Everybody sighed in relief, and "F..." Kaito whispered

Yukiko leans in, "Huh... What's he saying?!"

Misuki's face sets in a mix of relief and worry, "Kaito..."

Kaito's voice grows stronger, "Food..."

"I'm starving"

The group stares, dumbfounded. "You can't be serious" they echo in unison.

Mizuki shook her head, a relieved smile spreading, "He's such a dummy!"

Yukiko hugged him tightly, "Reckless!"

Mika burst into tears, "Thank Goodness!"

Hana smiles, "So how are these Squad Omega guys?"

Toru looks at Kaito, Misuki, and Yukiko, a warm smile spreading, "I guess they're all right!"
