Madripoor

" What's happened to this city? Has Tyger fallen? The last time I was here she had this city under some sort of rule." But this is just anarchy." Nathan stated as he and the others looked out over the smoking city.

" Madripoor was never a city of angels. But at least then there were rules." Gambit replied.

" Survival has no rules." Laura stated.

" Sometimes it does. Everyone needs a code." Nathan said to the woman.

" A code implies restraint." Laura replied.

" Sometimes, Laura, that's what defines you." Nathan responded.

" What do you think petite?" Gambit asked the girl.

" I think it is time to hunt." Laura replied as she popped her claws.

Nathan nodded and the three jumped from their building, landing in the crowded streets and started searching for their target. Daken Akihiro. The son of Wolverine.

" Ooph, my bones." Gambit complained.

" Are you hurt?" Laura asked.

" I jus think I'm a couple of young kids with a healing factor." Gambit joked.

" Instead you're just old." Laura joked back.

" Wait? Was that a joke?" Gambit asked as he and Nathan both looked at the girl in shock. " Be still my heart." Gambit joked as he clutched his chest.

Suddenly one of the many men amongst the riot grabbed Laura's arm. " Boys, look what I got for us! Something sweet." The man exclaimed. " Gonna pass you around like a prize." The man said to Laura as he pulled on her arm.

Nathan slammed his palm into the side of the man's head and knocked him out. " No you are not."

" Nathan, Gambit." Laura called out to the two men as she caught Daken's scent.

" Go, love. We'll catch up." Nathan said to the woman. He then stood beside Gambit ready for the coming crowd. " So, how violent are we talking here?" Nathan.

" As violent as you can get without killing them. We'll let the police handle the rest." Gambit replied.

" Okay. Wanna see who can take more down?" Nathan proposed a challenge to the man.

Gambit looked at the man and smirked. " You're on." Gambit grabbed three of his cards and threw them into the crowd. Nathan in turn jumped into the crowd and jumped spinning around in a circle as he kicked, knocking out three men in the process.

Gambit and Nathan made quick work of the men and in the end.

" I got ten." Nathan said to Gambit.

" Blast, it's a tie. I got ten too." Gambit replied.

" Come on old man, let's go find Laura." Nathan said and Gambit nodded. The two men ran through the streets until they heard a man screaming inside of an opened van.

" Laur... Oh." Nathan spoke as he saw Laura straddling a dead man.

" I could not restrain myself." Laura said to the two men.

" it's okay, love. What happened?" Nathan asked the girl.

" They tried to steal a boy." Laura explained to the men. " I interrogated one of them. They work for Colcord. He directed them to take advantage of the chaos to kidnap children. He did not give them a reason, nor did the man know where his lab is." Laura explained.

" What about Daken?" Nathan asked.

" We will keep looking-- After we take this boy someplace safe." Laura replied as she carried the unconscious boy out of the van.

" I know someone who can help us. But I don't think she'd be very happy to see me." Nathan explained to the two.

" If it is the same person I'm thinking of I don't see why not. What wit the chaos in Madripoor. I thought her hands would be tied, but she's good people." Gambit replied.

" You missed out on my tenure as strife. The last time I was in Madripoor. I kind of blew up a lot of their main operations. The crime families here put a bounty on my head. But hey, maybe she won't be mad about it. After all I did save her life." Nathan explained to the man.

" Oh, boy. Something tells me this gon be a long ride." Gambit groaned as he followed Laura and Nathan through the streets.

After dropping the boy off to the police Gambit, Nathan and Laura bidded their time until their target finally showed up.

" Somehow." Tyger said sadly as she rounded the corner.

" Chere." Gambit called out to the woman

Tyger lifted her head and was surprised to see who was standing in front of her. " Remy?"

" Surprise, Chere." Gambit said to the woman.

Tyger walked up to Remy and placed her hand on his cheek. " It's good to see you. Really good." Tyger said as she hugged the man. Shen then looked over his shoulder and broke the hug. " Er hello?"

" What? Don't recognize me Tyger?" Nathan asked the woman. Tyger shook her head and Nathan laughed. " Well, i don't blame. I believe the last time we met." Nathan explained to the woman as his voice started to change. He reached into his long coat and pulled out his old mask and placed it on his face as he pulled his hood up. " I looked a little something like this." Nathan said to the woman in his old strife voice.

" Strife.... You son of a bitch!" Tyger yelled.

" Easy tyger. I didn't come here to cause trouble. We actually came to you both to help and for help." Nathan explained to the woman.

" Please Chere? For old times sake?" Gambit asked the woman.

" Ugh! Fine. But don't pull another stunt like last time or else." Tyger warned. " Now follow me."

Gambit nodded to the others and followed Tyger to her car. Once inside the three began their drive back to Tyger's main office.

" Don't worry those nuns will find the boy's parents. In the meantime, he'll be safe with them." Tyger explained to Laura.

" Looked to me as though they were taking care of a lot of lost kids." Gambit said to the woman.

" Most of those children were lost before the chaos." Tyger explained.

" They smelled sick." Laura said to the woman.

" They were experimented on." Tyger explained. " i was ready to launch an investigation until everything went to hell. Now my resources are stretched so thin, I've got nothing left to spare. Not even for hurt kids. I've got an entire city to bring back under control." Tyger explained.

" What happened here Tyger. Madripoor wasn't like this six months ago. Who did this to you of all people?" Nathan asked

" Daken Akihiro. He played me." Tyger responded. " He also murdered my friends."

" Tyger, I'm so sorry. I really am. For everything. Can I assume Daken's threatened you with the city to keep you working for him?" Nathan asked the woman.

" Yes, he knows I love this city. He's got me hamstrung. I just can't stand by and let it become a no-man's-land like before." Tyger explained to the group.

" We ain gon let that happen chere." Gambit told the woman.

" We know who is hurting those children. His name is Malcolm Colcord. He wants to create a new weapon X program. I believe Daken knows where he is." Laura explained to the woman.

" And you want Daken I suppose." Tyger asked. " I can help you with that." Tyger stated. " How good are your acting skills, Laura?" Tyger asked the woman mischievously.

A short drive later and ditching Nathan because he was too recently known in Madripoor. Laura and Gambit followed Tyger into her personal Hq while Nathan watched from above. After the fake meeting Nathan trailed Gambit and Laura from the roof tops, observing them while they waited for Daken to take the bait.

' And there he goes.' Nathan thought to himself as he watched Laura and Daken start fighting. Nathan watched as Daken extended a hand of kinship to Laura. But Laura rejected it and walked away. Nathan followed after Daken from the roof tops in a bid to keep his scent hidden from the man. And eventually he found what they had come to look for. Malcolm Colcord.

Nathan watched as Laura and Gambit confronted the men, but things did not go as planned as Malcolm managed to inject Laura with a serum to knock her out. Gambit turned to help her, but Daken used the moment to knock Gambit out as well.

Nathan prepared to leap down into the battlefield but before he could, he was confronted by an old friend of his from Madripoor.

" Well well well look what I found. Little strife all grown up." Masters joked as he looked on his old student.

" Taskmaster. I'm not surprised to find you in this city. As much as I'd love a reunion I don't have time for these games." Nathan said to the man as Laura was loaded into Colcord's car. ' Damn it Laura, I shouldn't have let you confront him alone.' Nathan thought to himself.

" Worried about the girl? You should be. You know the hard on Colcord has for that woman? He paid me double the usual rates just to keep you distracted." taskmaster explained to Nathan. " And now he has her."

" Like I said. I don't have time for this." Nathan placed his hands on the roof of the building and shook it violently causing it to crumble and explode. Nathan then turned and rushed after the car carrying Laura. ' Damn it Laura, you wouldn't make a mistake like this.... Unless you knew what you were doing.' Nathan thought to himself. " This is your chance to get to Malcolms facility. And you know that... Don't you Laura?" Nathan asked.
