" Are you sure this is working soundwave?"

Julian asked as the New X-men.

" Yes, I'm sure Hellion. I've been practicing like hell these past few weeks. You have no idea, what I can do now."

Nathan said to the boy with a grin on his face.

" Don't get cocky Sound."

Laura said to the boy.

" Yes, Laura."

Nathan responded.

" Okay, it's here."

Nathan said as he looked down at the church in front of the group.

" Laura?"

Noriko asked.

" Yeah, I can smell the guns. And the anti-telepathy implants. They are here."

Laura confirmed.

" Why didn't we do that from the beginning?"

Julian asked.

" Because there are a lot of churches in this city."

Nathan replied.

" Allright anole, once we get in, I want you to find out what you can about the baby, we'll run interference. Laura, what do you see?"

Noriko asked.

" Seven purifiers on the outside perimeter, all armed with anti-mutants weaponry. Two guards on the upper level, no weapons, the side entrance is the one we want. It's the most heavily guarded."

Laura stated.

" Hang on a sec."

Nathan said as he looked over the church.

" Nate what are you doing?"

Noriko asked.

Nathan placed his fist to his lips and let out a small, sharp screech.

" Mhm!"

Laura grunted as her ears were the only ones sharp enough to hear the noise.

The sound wave traveled towards the church. Nathan himself closed his eyes to focus more on the sound traveling between him and the building. Once the wave hit all of the floors, the guards, all of it became visible to his eyes.

" Laura's right, the side entrance is the one we want. But it is not the most heavily guarded. There's something else here. Or more like someone else. And a massive number of guards are surrounding them. But I don't hear fighting. So, they must be allies. Maybe a high-ranking member of the purifiers, or maybe someone contracted to work for them. Either way, we've got our work cut out for us."

Nathan explained to the group.

" How do you..."

Victor was asking.

" Echolocation. Add that on with being able to hear for hundreds of yards and there's just about no way you can hide from me. Sound travels through everything Victor. Remember that."

Nathan explained with a grin on his face.

" How about it Laura? Up for that date now?"

Nathan asked the girl.

His response was two claws in his face.

" All right, rain check. For now, let's go."

Nathan said as he leapt from the building, his teammates close behind him.

" All right, before we attack."

Nathan stopped the group and snapped his fingers. Suddenly a large wave shot out from the group.

" What did you do?"

Julian asked.

" I just turned our sound off."

Nathan explained.

" You did what?"

Noriko asked.

" I influenced the way sound moves around us. Now, we can hear each other. But no one else can hear us. Like this."

Nathan said as he nonchalantly walked up behind one of the churches guards. He placed his hands on the man's neck and snapped it, instantly killing him.

The group looked on in terror as the man's body dropped to the floor.

" Nathan, you just killed that man."

Megan said to the boy.

" Yeah, he would have killed us just as easily if he could."

Nathan replied.

" That doesn't bother you? Don't you think that was a little much?"

Julian asked. As even though he was a hard ass, he didn't like the thought of killing someone.

" Julian, I've had to fight to survive my entire life. I've always had the deck stacked against me, now it's their turn to see how that feels. If they can be redeemed fine. But I have no sympathy for the wicked. We came here to do a job. I'm going to do it properly. If any of you want to go back, now's the chance."

Nathan explained to the group as he walked towards the entrance to the church.

" He's right, let's go."

Noriko said to her team.

The group walked through the side entrance after killing the remaining guards silently thanks in part to Nathan's ability to manipulate sound.

" All right Anole, you know your job get to it."

Noriko said to the green lizard boy.

Anole nodded and climbed through a nearby airduct to his destination.

" Can they hear him?"

Noriko asked.

" Yes, I can only manipulate the sound around for so much distance. But if we do our job right, they won't even notice him. Now, I believe you guys wanted a loud distraction, right?"

Nathan asked.

" Maximum destruction."

Laura said to the boy.

" All right."

Nathan said as he walked to the door in front of him. On the other side were hundreds of armed guards.

" I've been wanting to try this out for a while."

Nathan pulled his hand back and punched the door.

" Uh nothing happened."

Julian said to the boy.

" Crack*"

Suddenly the air around the door cracked, the door was shattered instantly, and a wave of destruction rushed out from where his fist was.

" All right, you Purifying PRICKS! The New X-Men Have come knocking!"

Nathan yelled as he stepped into the room.

" Intruders!"

One of the guards yelled

" Not bad."

Laura smirked at the boy.

" Thanks, gorgeous. Now let's get to work."

Nathan stated.

The New X-men attacked the Purifiers taking them down in waves

' Got to be careful with how I use my powers here. Don't want to bring the building down on us.'

Nathan thought as he dodged bullet fire from the purifiers.

" Fry you bastard!"

Noriko yelled as she electrocuted one of the purifiers. The man's body convulsed violently as Noriko's electricity flowed through his veins.

" Surge! Ease up!"

Julian yelled as he stopped the woman from killing the man.

" Back off Hellion!"

Noriko demanded.

" No, don't do this! You don't want to be like..."

Julian was explaining.

Seeing that the two were distracted A purifier snuck up on them.

" Move!"

Nathan yelled as he knocked the two out of the way from the man's attack.

" Nice try bastard. But no one hurts my friends!"

Nathan yelled at the man as he punched him into a nearby wall.

" He was at the mansion."

Julian yelled in anger.

" Yes. I've been there many times young man. On my first visit I sent that busload of your friends to hell. And today we will send the rest of you back to satan!"

The man declared.

Nathan slammed his hand on the man's chest and shouted.

" You bastard! The only one going to hell today is you!"

Nathan declared. He dug his palm into the man's chest and hit him point blank with a shockwave.

The purifier's body exploded under the pressure.

" It's over!"

Nathan declared.

As Nathan stood up a pair of sharp fingers pierced through his flesh and impaled him.

" NATHAN!'

Laura and Noriko yelled.

" Yes, it is over... For you that is."

Lady deathstrike said as she lifted the boy's body off of the floor.

" Come to me children. Come to deathstrike."

The woman declared.

" You bitch, You burn for that."

Noriko declared.

" Grrrrr!"

Laura growled at the woman.

Deathstrike smiled at the two girls. Ready for them to attack.

" Reavers be sever with them."

Deathstrike ordered her troops.

" Hahahaha!"

Nathan laughed much to the woman's shock. He raised his hand to her chest and blasted her point blank with a shockwave, sending her flying into a nearby wall.

" Nate?! You're all right man."

Julian asked.

" Yeah. But girls I appreciate the concern."

Nathan smiled at the girls.

" Of course, I was concerned. You're one of the closes friends I've got."

Noriko stated having calmed down.

" Hmph."

Laura grunted making Nathan laugh a little.

" How? I stabbed through your heart and other organs. How are you alive?"

Deathstrike asked.

" I could hear you coming. That's all you're getting out of me. Now, pixie I think it's time we got out of here."

Nathan said to the girl.

" Reavers kill them!"

Deathstrike ordered.

' Hm, I've got an idea.'

Nathan thought wickedly.

He held his hands and bent the sound around them. Making the sound waves turn into visible blades. He and the rest of The New X-men started fighting the reavers and deathstrike respectively.

" Get us out of here!"

Rockslide yelled as he punched away members of the reavers.

" I'm... I can't!"

Megan yelled.

" Watch out!"

Nathan yelled as he cut one of the reavers trying to attack the girl in half.

" Pixie! Close your eyes. Shut it out and focus. You have to get us out of here. I can't use my powers to full effect here."

Nathan explained to the scared girl.

" Don't worry. I'll keep you safe."

Nathan declared.

Megan nodded and closed her eyes.

" Sihal Novarum Chinoth... Sihal Novarum Chin..."

Pixie chanted and teleported the group away. However, it didn't go the way she had wanted, and the group was split up.

" FUUUCK!"

Nathan yelled as he and Laura were teleported thousands of miles above the city.

' Fuck! Fuck! I don't know how to fly. Is this where I die?'

Nathan thought as he and the girl plummeted towards the ground.

' No, Beast said I could use sound to fly, or at the very least glide off the ground. But I haven't been able to do that yet. I've tried, but I've failed every time. Fuck!'

Nathan thought in terror. He looked over to see the same fear in the eyes of Laura.

' She's terrified. Can she survive this? Fuck Nathan! It's do or die time.'

Nathan thought.

" Laura! Grab on!"

Nathan screamed to the girl.

Laura quickly grabbed onto his shirt.

' Feel it Nathan, feel the soundwaves moving around your body. Twist it, bend it. You.'

Nathan thought as he continued his plummet towards death.

' Control it. Control it. CONTROL IT!'

Nathan strained and pushed himself as hard as he could.

' It's not working. Fuck!'

Nathan cursed to himself.

' I have to at least try to slow us down.'

Nathan thought.

Nathan took a deep breath and yelled as loud as he could.

" HAAAAAARRRRH!"

Nathan yelled producing a wave of sound towards the ground.

The two started falling slower and slower, but they were still heading towards the ground.

" Laura hold on tight."

Nathan said to the girl.

' We're not stopping, but at least at this speed. I can survive the crash.'

Nathan thought.

" Nathan, I'm scared!"

Laura yelled.

' Scared?! That doesn't sound like Laura at all.'

Nathan thought.

" I got you, just brace yourself!"

Nathan declared.

Nathan wrapped the girl up in his arms and turned his back towards the ground and landed in a garbage can.

The impact shook the nearby buildings.

" Ugh! Nathan?"

Laura groaned.

Laura looked up to see the boy was badly injured.

" Oh, damn it, Nathan! You're hurt bad."

Laura exclaimed as her injuries healed.

" It's fine, as long as you're okay. That's all that matters."

Nathan stated.

" But why me? Why are you so interested in me? I thought you and Noriko were a thing. You two are always together."

Laura asked.

" I don't know why. I just am."

Nathan laughed.

" It's funny."

Nathan stated.

" What is?"

Laura asked.

" A year ago, I was struggling just to make it day to day. Derrick was the only friend I had. Never did I imagine I'd be here today."

Nathan explained.

" I... know how that feels."

Laura replied.

" Yeah, I think we all can in our messed-up way. That school is cornucopia of life trauma. Hahahaha!"

Nathan laughed.

" Hm! You're not wrong you know."

Laura said as she joined him i his laughter.

" Nathan, look. I'm still new to all of this. This everything. I don't know much about my feelings and..."

Laura was explaining.

" I understand... Hell I'm new to it too. But that's the great thing about living that I discovered. As long as we're alive we have the chance to learn and grow and experience those things we never could."

Nathan explained.

" Maybe not today. Hell, maybe not tomorrow. But I'll win your heart someday. Just you watch me."

Nathan declared to the woman.

" I hate to break up such an interesting heart to heart moment. But we really need to get a move on. You two alright!"

Iceman said as he arrived with the rest of the New X-men.

The two looked up at them with their eyebrows raised in confusion.

" Ugh!"

Nathan grunted in pain as he got to his feet.

" Fuck! I forgot the broken bones."

Nathan grunted.

" Are you going to be okay?"

Cessily asked.

" Got no choice. Now then, fill us in on situation."

Nathan said to the others.

" The mansion is under attack from sentinels. The others are in trouble and we're all around in a shit storm. So, answer me this kids. Are you all ready for the big leagues?"

Iceman asked.

" HAhaha! Time for a little white noise! You ready to kick some more ass, Laura?"

Nathan asked the girl.

She smirked and popped her claws.

" All right! Let's go. Hold on X-men backups on the way.

The team flew as fast as they could back towards the X-mansion, to back the others up. They arrived at a scene out of a horror movie the multiple Sentinels were destroying the school with ease, and the X-men were barely holding on.

" Hold on tight!"

iceman said to the others as he drove the jet straight through one of the sentinels' heads.

" Awesome! He's gonna topple!"

Rockslide said as he watched the sentinel fall.

" He might but hang on kids. That hit took out our forward thrusters. It's going to be a tough landing."

Iceman explained

" Who said anything about landing?"

Nathan asked.

He and Laura walked towards the exit of the jet and opened it.

' What are you guys going to do? Nathan you're still injured."

Cessily stated.

" We're low enough to the ground for the fall not to hurt me. And Laura can heal from this. You ready Laura?"

Nathan asked.

" Hm!"

Laura nodded

The two of the jumped from the ship.

Nathan dropped directly on top of one of the sentinels and slammed his hand on the top of its head, sending out a shockwave that destroyed the robot with ease.

Laura followed suit diving into the head of another sentinel with her claws. Tearing through it effortlessly.

" All right! Cavalries arrived. Dust see what you can do."

Scott said to the sooraya.

" Yes, sir!"

Dust replied.

" Nathan? You're injured are you all, right?"

Scott asked as he looked at the boy spit up blood.

" Does it really matter? If I don't fight, we die. Either way no one's walking away from this unscathed."

Nathan explained.

" Why is he talking like he's been through this before. You're still green kid."

Bishop said to the boy.

" The giant killer robots, ninjas, definitely new to that. But as far as fighting for my life goes. I did that every day for seventeen years."

Nathan replied back.

" All right, X-men take them down."

Cyclops yelled to his troops!

" Terminate All mutants!"

The sentinels said as they fired on the X-Men.

" Not likely!"

Nathan yelled.

He pulled his fist back and punched towards the sentinels in front of him. The air cracked and the wave of destruction stopped the blasts from moving closer to the group.

" UWAAAAAAH!"

Nathan yelled as he pushed back against the sentinels.

" That's it keep pushing Nathan! Everyone else open fire!"

Cyclops ordered.

Iceman rushed forward and froze one of the sentinel's heads with his ice.

" Nice going Ice! Now move!"

Bishop yelled as he blasted the robots head into pieces.

" I can't keep these things from firing forever!"

Nathan yelled as blood dripped from his mouth.

Just then dust emerged from the downed sentinel in a panic.

" Dust?! What's the..."

Scott was asking the woman.

" It's not human! It's..."

Sooraya was explaining.

" Sentinels Mission failure. Initiate escape sequence 7265-E"

The robot said as he emerged from the pilot seat.

" No!"

Laura yelled as she chased the robot.

" Laura no!"

Nathan called out.

Laura jumped into the air and dug her claws into the machines back.

" YAAAAAAGH!"

Laura yelled in pain.

" Laura!"

Nathan yelled as he ran to catch her

" Gotcha!"

Nathan said as he caught the woman.

" Unnnh!"

Laura groaned.

The smell of burned flesh filled the air.

" I got ya X. I got ya."

Nathan said to the girl.

" All right get the wounded down to the med bay."

Cyclops said to the group.
