Surreptitious

"I know.. and I love you too. We will be a family soon." She looked at him with an excited expression, "I wonder which one of us our baby will look like? Is she going to be like you or me?"

That question made Eric anxious to his bones and he didn't respond. He knows her baby won't look anywhere near like him, he knows the truth, it is not his child and he can only hope that her daughter will have Ji An's looks and the real father of her child has a fair skin or else everything will be ruined. He will be caught lying to everyone and Ji An will hate her, he can't let that happen.

"Eric???.. are you okay?" Ji An worriedly asked him as he went quiet and he seemed off.

"Ah yes, I'm okay." He recovered well after zoning out for two minutes. "Since she's a girl she will probably be like you. She will be as beautiful as you." Eric smiled at her, but he was still thinking of what will happen if things get ruined when the baby comes out? "Ji An I don't want to rush you, but should we get married 2 months after our baby is delivered?"

"Well, I should at least lose some weight after giving birth." She laughed, "I don't want to walk down the aisle not looking good. Six months maybe?"

Eric just wanted to be sure she is his before her baby shows her features, "How about we get married at the registrar first. The ceremony can be held 6 months later. At least our baby will carry my name legally. What do you think?" The least he could do is to secure his position as her husband, he will worry about the future later.

"Hmm you are persistent aren't you. Okay, let's do it then. Let's get married at the registrar before I give birth." She gave him a sweet smile. They had become good friends and she gave him her trust that's why they are getting along well.

"I'll make all the preparations needed so we can wed as soon as possible. You should rest, I will prepare your food and let's feed our little one here." He rubbed her belly and kissed it. "But first, let me show you around."

Eric took her to their room. It is the master bedroom, of course, the biggest room out of 3 rooms. Though all the rooms are en-suite with bathrooms, their bedroom has the biggest and have a walk-in wardrobe. He already bought clothes for Ji An and had it stacked neatly in her wardrobe, he also got her clothes for during and after her pregnancy.

"Is this our bedroom? I really like it." She sat on the bed. "This is very comfortable. As she laid down and felt the softness of their bed, "I feel tired already, I think I will have a nap first. I'll check the whole house later." She laid down properly on the bed and it didn't take her long to fall in deep slumber.

Eric started to cook in the kitchen and thought of getting a maid for Ji An and a nurse to help her during her pregnancy and after. He still needs to go to the office and he cannot leave Ji An on her own. Especially with her big belly, what if something happened and she's alone. That thought made him really worried.

There's still no news about Ji An and her whereabouts, but he hasn't given up, he was determined to find her no matter what. His father did some arrangements between the Shen family and theirs, even though his presence were never there, both families agreed that they should get married or at least get engaged as soon as possible.

Shen family is actually a good choice for Cheng Ze as they own Shendong Enterprise. If their kids marry each other, their stock price will go up. Good business for both sides indeed. Though Gu Feng doesn't really mind if his son chooses a woman with no money. But right now his son actually picked the right woman.

Cheng Ze was not interested at all. He was avoiding Lori in any way he can. But he can only avoid her for so long as she also has her ways to see him.

Lori barged in his office with a very angry face, "Why are you avoiding me, Cheng Ze? We are going to be engaged whether you like it or not! After what you've done to me? I could be pregnant you know? You still don't care?"

"Tsk." He smirked and got annoyed, "Lori... Lori... Lori," he went to her and touched her face slightly, "First of all, I didn't do anything to you for you to fall pregnant. I know you manipulated the situation. I'm not stupid! And yes I DON'T CARE! Why should I? You wanted all of this. Right?" He then walked to the window of his office and put his hands in his pockets before he looked outside, "You want to be engaged? Sure... You want to get married? Sure... But I will never be a husband to you. And I will make you wait long for a wedding! I thought you were a really good person. I liked you before, but now... I can see your true colour. I'm disappointed!" He shook his head repeatedly.

Li Wei was just standing there and heard everything he had said, his boss didn't even send him out.

Lori couldn't utter a word. She just stared at him. After about 5 minutes she asked him, "How much do you love her?" Tears flowed on her eyes and her heart felt like it had been squeezed.

"You shouldn't ask that question. You should just leave. I still have a meeting later and I don't have time for you," He looked at Li Wei "Send her out. I don't want to be disturbed." Cheng Ze was about to sit in his chair when Lori strikes again.

Li Wei turned to Lori but Lori has more to say. "I am the only daughter of Shen Shui and no one, not even you can treat me this way!! I am going to be your wife whether you like it or not. I will banish that woman even in your dreams." She said angrily while in tears.

What she said made Cheng Ze really angry, he was already struggling to find her and Lori's words are something he doesn't want to hear. Her words about banishing Ji An even in his dreams made him furious. Instead of sitting down, he went to Lori, grabbed her neck and pinned her on the wall choking her slightly as he didn't put a lot of force in his hand. "You dare to do that, I won't hesitate to ruin you and your family!"

"You love her that much?" She held his hand that gripped her throat, "Just kill me! End my life now! Do it with your own hands!" She sobbed and could not believe what he just said.

Cheng Ze loosens his grip and lets her go. She slumped on the floor and sobbed. "Leave!!!" He shouted at her, "I don't want to see your Goddamn face here! Get out!"
