Ari helped the man stand up while examing him and finding no clue to an answer for his condition. "I think taking two people in and out was still too much for my body." Mars tried to convince Ari using a big smile despite the weak state he was in.

"Ok Special Ops Mars, I am going to contact the Commander then since there is nothing else we can do right now." "Thank you, Ari."

Since Mars was still waiting he accessed his Energy core to take a look at what he could do with it. Again black mass shot out from under his feet covering everything besides himself. But there was no Core coming out of it, instead his veins turned into a deep black, trembling and trying to forcefully dig through his skin, letting him scream out in agony. The veins punctured his weak body, letting a black fog leak out that quickly flowed towards a space in front of him. The black mass underneath fused itself with the mist creating a spinning black orb. After the orb was stabilised did his veins crawl back under his skin sealing the entrance with black substance again.

Out of the black orb came a muddy root, its substance dripping on the ground. The drops hitting the ground quickly transformed into a small tree that grew more and more until it reached the root way up in the sky. The consistence of the tree became more solid until it was rock hard, looking like obsidian.

Instinctively Mars reached out toward it using his Mind Force but the Tree rejected him even dodging his approach.

He thought about his still dark veins and tried to push them out using his Mind Force. They were still in an unmovable state not listening to him.

After trying a bit more he suddenly "felt" his veins and the black substance that pumped itself through his body. He tried to recreate the rupturing feeling he had felt earlier and made a small cut near his hand.

Smoke slowly climbed out of his vein, seemingly not sure of this development. The moment he directed it to fly toward the Tree a connection was established between him and the obsidian tree.

Mars immediately regretted his choice. The backslash from Energy adaptations was almost the same he felt during the Affinity adaptations. All his veins seemingly boiled, the black substance tormenting through his entire bloodstream and changing it. They created more and more pathways through his body and mutated his cells at an incredibly high pace, letting them send out even more of that black energy through his body. His veins were slowly forming into new vessels, becoming sturdier and more durable, able to reliably let this energy flow through his body until it erupted again and again. The power of it trying to test if his body could hold on.

The shockwaves Mars was pulsating were even felt by the other people inside the building. The energy lost in the shockwave was gathering around him forming a coating that wrapped him inside completely.

In the black mass he saw a mirrored image of himself - A man with pure black eyes.

Pores were opening themself on his skin poking holes everywhere and creating a doorway for his energy to go out. Connecting this shield with him and making him the master of it. He could enhance it, infuse it with void, make it invisible or let it dissappear completely by calling it back.

Mars suddenly felt a chill crawl down his spine. A feeling of emptiness and hatred just came from his Energy Core. After getting closer and closer, he saw eyes. Eyes of a dark blue colour. The same colour and shape of the beast he saw in the Illusory Space.

"System, what have you done?" A trembling voice came out of Mars's mouth.
