"Stand the fuck still!" Darius shouted.
Darius wanted to separate some slimes to hit him. Still, all of them were trying to hit him… it was no joke to be a target of hundreds of Fireballs every three seconds, after all. Fortunately, all that came with some rewards.
(You got the passive Heat Resistance.)
(You got the passive Fire Resistance.)
(Heat Resistance - 0/100: During this heatwave, it's a good idea to wear two different deodorants – one under each armpit. But that's just my two cents. Passively decreases the effect of area of effect fire-related attacks and damage caused by weather.)
(Fire Resistance - 0/100: What do you call the sweat produced when two people make love in Alabama? Relative humidity, and passively decreases the damage caused by one point per level by fire-related attacks.)
The good side of those skills was the fact that Darius received ten times more experience points than the damage that he received. The downside was the fact that it hurt like a fucking bitch.
Darius decided to stop after two level-ups. He thought that he was stronger-willed than that since he fought the orcs for several days, but it seemed that was that and this was this or the inverse in that case.
"I should level up those skills a bit every day," Darius thought. "I can stay here and grind for those skills; a bit of time would be fine, but I feel like my sense of time will deviate if I keep using this function of this domain often. Besides, I should find the situation ahead and decide what I will do based on it."
Before he actually could do that, Darius had to do something about his mobility. The Chaos Compass was still a movie pretty slowly, so he wasn't that close to his destination… he wished that he could learn magic to be able to fly super fast or something then again… he suddenly realized something.
"I am stupid… Please, someone, kick me in the balls to make me realize how stupid I am," Darius said and then sighed when he finally realized that he could solve that problem with ease just by running until he ran out of breath and then he rested on his domain. "I was so caught up in coming up with such a smart plan that I completely neglected this…"
Live and learn… Darius began to run toward the North, even though it was dark in the area, and he ended up tripping on some rocks and branches on the ground. After five minutes, he was out of stamina, and then he rested in his domain for the equivalent of two seconds outside before doing the same thing over and over again. For him, he had one hour of break, so it didn't feel that grueling… and he could cross massive distances in a couple of hours. That actually happened… Before midnight, he crossed five hundred kilometers and then found a large city between some mountains.
"I found the slimes pretty fast, but nothing after running this much," Darius thought while he was seeing many lights still illuminating the city. "Regardless… there are no signs of battles here…"
Entering the city in the middle of the night was out of the question, so Darius decided to camp at the base of one of the mountains. Still, while he was climbing down, he found some caves along the way… it seemed that it was a mining city in the middle of a mining area.
"I would say that the biome of my domain is starting to take shape… but I wonder how I can make things like mines appear there," Darius rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Anyway, the Chaos Compass is moving crazily, but I can't see this city in a bad spot…"
It was hard to imagine that Darius arrived too early or too late… it was also hard to imagine that the gods made some wrong math while thinking how much time Darius would need to cross the distance.
Regardless, Darius slept out of his domain for a change in order for when he woke up, he could enter the city. It was finally time to meet some of the people of the world… even before, during the summer breaks, he didn't spend so much time without seeing others.
Darius couldn't help but be amazed by the towering walls made of stone that surrounded the city. The walls seemed to stretch on forever, and he couldn't imagine how they were built without modern technology. The stones were perfectly cut and placed, creating a sturdy barrier that seemed impenetrable.
After seeing the city in the morning, Darius confirmed that the place was completely fine. He wished that the gods had added some more information when they granted him the quests, but in the end, it seemed that they had their own problems, and things couldn't be solved that easily.
Regardless, Darius began to walk toward the city, wondering if his clothes would be made him stand out in the crowd. He washed them every day in the last few days, so they looked pretty beaten up. His sense of fashion in the world had yet to develop as well, so it couldn't be helped.
In any case, Darius forgot all about that when he reached the city and saw their appearance… everyone there had brown hair and fur… and they looked like raccoons…
