CHAPTER 3

002 closed her eyes tightly. For a while she flew through the air, then she hit ground and opened her eyes. She saw the sky and knew she is out of the dark room, and out of immediate danger.

"Excellent performance OO2. Good reflexes and high level of intelligence."a voice said from nowhere.

"Next test coming in ten seconds, nine...eight...seven...six...five...four...three...two...one...start".

"Roaaarrrrr"a very might roar shook the ground.

OO2 immediately scrambled to her feet and glanced around,a huge cat was coming towards her. She turned and ran into the only safe place,she ran into the forest. She patted her breast pocket quickly for the knives, she still had three left. Not much against a fifty pound cat. She ran and ran. There are no footpaths, just grasses,and trees. She changed directions regularly,hoping to lose the cat. When it seemed as if she had done so,she leaned against a tree. She wasn't in the least wearied out, she wasn't even panting,she just didn't want to go further into an unknown territory. There was a hiss and a swift movement, her hand struck out on its own, catching a green snake. She quickly wringed the head and threw it away. It was then she heard the hisses. She quickly drew two knives from her pocket. Her head and eyes darted around, her brain barely processing what it saw, her eye reflexes directing her hands, her ears picking out the sounds. Each motion of her knife was accurate. With each movement of her hands, a snake was cut. But they were just too many. She had walked into lairs and lairs of them. But at last, they all lay at her feet, some of them still writhing. She immediately moved out of the area, propelled by her survival instinct. She trudged on, not in the least weary or tired. She was just looking for a way out of her Hell. She didn't experience anything else till it was evening, but she was cautious all the same, she knew the forest has many hidden dangers. When it was night time, she looked for a tree with broad branches, climbed up and lay on one of the top most ones. Fortunately, the tree has some fruits. She plucked some and ate to her fill. She soon fell asleep and started dreaming.

She sniffed, willing her eyes to stay dry. Whatever made her go after that little bird? She asked herself. Now she was lost in this dark forest.

Whenever you feel sad baby, don't cry, crying shows you are weak. Transform the sorrow into anger. Most times, stronger emotions than sorrow us what you need to survive. She remembered her mother's words.

"Fuck you bird" she said kicking at a tree.

"Fuck you beautiful little bird" she said, kicking again. Something fell with a thud, but she didn't look, she didn't care. Then she heard the hiss and turned

"And fuck you too, slithering snake" But the snake advanced it's maws opened wide, it's snake tongue flicking.

"Fuck you !" she screamed but still the snake advanced. Her defiance broke down and she turned and ran, the snake hot at her heels, it maws snapping. She ran straight into a small clump of grass and fell. She started crying, sure that she is gone. But the snake circled the bushes somewhat nervously, then slithered away, awaiting it's chance. Curious, she stepped out of the clump. The snake lunged. She hurriedly fell back into the bush, the snake landing at her feet. It didn't bite her, rather,it hurriedly found it's way out of the bush and slithered away. She now knew the grass is repulsive to snakes. She mashed some and rubbed all over her body. At night time, she climbed a tree. At last she could no longer keep back the tears and she cried. Then a voice floated to her.

"Gold?!"

She clambered down quickly running towards the voice.

"Gold?!" It came again.

"Here I ..." She started then froze. A tiger was five meters in her front.

"Roarrr" the tiger roared and...

002 woke up panting.

"Roarrr" a roar shook he tree. 002 looked down the same cat she had ran from the day before stood at the foot of her tree, sniffing around. Then it roared again and started climbing her tree. 002 knew it will sniff her out again if she didn't kill it. So she pulled out two knives and jumped to the next tree. The cat followed her. She jumped down and stood ready, awaiting the cat.

020 was just about to put the wafer into her mouth when a voice came on the speaker

"020 you are required at the great hall now" she sighed and put down the wafer. Another mission in two days. She placed her hand on the green memory board beside her bed and said "Open" The glass doors slid open and she walked out. In five minutes she is at the hall where missions we are assigned. The Lord was sitting leisurely on his usual sit up front.

"A new recruit is coming in. As usual, we are dropping you into her territory, precisely half a mile from where she is. Don't kill her but you are free to do anything else you please with her."

"Yes sir" 020 said and saluted.

"Your aircraft is waiting outside, start now."

"Yes sir"

As the aircraft lifted smoothly with hardly a sound,020 considered a situation she didn't think it fair that after condition her targets to kill everything that attacks them, she us instructed not to kill them. To her, it's the same thing as leaving her at the mercy of her targets. Whereas she will be careful not to kill them, their attacks will be aimed at her death. But she wasn't worried, so far none have killed her. She is the best soldier there is in the suplex camp.
