"Who are you?" the man screamed out. His legs unconsciously took step back but as he did so, his leg gave away and he fell down once again.
Since the lightening was bad around there, they could not see who the person was.
"I don't think you need to know that." A voice as cold as the winter breeze itself echoed in the area.
Since all they could see was a dark figure, they were unaware of who the intruder was but it was not the case for Nagina who had already sensed her.
While they were standing in stalemate condition, the leader among them took the chance to take out his knife.
"Hiyaaaa!!" He cried out as he threw himself towards the figure with all his might. He wanted to take down the intruder, whoever it was when she had their guard down. Their plan was already going in to turmoil, he did not want another unexpected factor to barge in to it out of nowhere.
"Die you piece of shit!" He bellowed in anger, his face red with all the adrenaline that was pumping inside his body.
Stab!
"Heh!" A victorious smile appeared on his face when he clearly felt his knife sinking into the flesh of the intruder.
"This is what you get for butting into something that doesn't concern you." His hysterical laugh filled the air.
He tried to pull out the knife but realized it was not budging form his place.
He wrinkled his brows and tried to pull out the knife once again but to no avail. It felt to him as if his knife was stuck in between hard rocks.
"Why isn't it coming out, screw it!" He cursed out loud when even after exhausting all of his strength, he could not pull it out.
While he was about to pull out his hands, long fingers wrapped around his wrist. The hands were soft but the grip was monstrously strong.
Under the force of the grip, he could feel his wrist bones shattering.
"You…let me go this instant, you piece of shit!" His painful cries attracted the attention of few passersby but seeing that it was just a fight between street thugs, they ignored them.
No one wanted to ruin their night by getting involved with some piece of trashes who were fighting under the influence of alcohol.
"Here, I let you go!" Le Fang Ling crooked up her lips in a sinister smile as she pushed back the man.
After being finally set free, he hurried to check his hand only to find it twisted in a way that seemed unpleasant to the eyes.
"Y-You, monster," he shouted at the woman who was looking at him as if he was a vermin. The turquoise eyes seemed to be emitting much more intimidating than anything he had ever seen before.
Even the influence of the alcohol seemed to have left him completely when faced with someone who showed no mercy to his poor hand.
"Who are you?" he asked with a stuttering voice while his knee wobbled in fear.
"Oh,me?" Le Fang Ling held the knife in her hand and looked at him with a deadpan expression.
*Clink*
With a sharp metallic sound the knife fell on the ground from her hand.
"My identity won't be necessary, heh." She subtly raised her head and looked at the man who was cowering on fear.
A green aura engulfed Le fang ling's body and the killing intent permeated the stagnant air.
"Y-You are a cultivator?" He seemed taken aback by the sudden revelation of her identity.
"Well, yes, duh!" Le fang Ling rolled her eyes at his late recognition of her identity. Any mortal who saw her robe would be able to figure out that she is a disciple from the eternal blossom sect that was located ta the top of the mountain.
"Do I look like a clown?" She pointed at herself and smiled a not so friendly smile.
"There," she pointed at the man on the ground that was having trouble breathing and was wriggling like a roundworm.
"I am responsible." She formed a small whirlwind in her palm and smiled.
"You get what I mean?"
However, the man was having problem processing thins when faced with so many abnormalities. Whatever she said was out of his understanding.
"Oof," She let out a long sigh. To be honest, it was nothing that fancy. She just made sure that the air pressure difference between the surrounding atmospheric pressure and the man's body causing him to have severe reaction such as rupturing of blood vessels.
"Your friends' life and death is in my hand." She decided to give a short and sweet explanation instead of making it seem complicated.
"You just messed up with someone you should not have." Le fang Ling leaned a little bit forward and glared at him.
"But we never did anything to you."
"Oh, you didn't do anything to me," she curled up her lips in a striking smile that was equally evil and enchanting.
"But to her." She motioned towards Nagina by the side of the lake as she glared into his eyes without even blinking. By this moment, the remaining two thugs had already escaped form there by jumping in the lake and were swimming across the lake as fast as they could.
"Now, you choose your last wish before you die." She tilted her head sideways and smiled at him. With her body glowing and eyes shining in the dark, she looked like the goddess of death who had come to claim his life.
"I, mhmm…" he stuttered as he tried to find a way to ask for forgiveness and to redeem his sinful act.
Just before he was able to speak out a proper word that made sense, he completely froze.
"….."
The pupil of his eyes rolled back and only the white part of his eyes could be seen.
With a loud thud, he fell flat on his face.
"Aiishh, did he break his nose?" Le fang Ling scrunched her nose and looked at the guy whose nose smashed directly on the stony ground.
"Who know?" Nagina chuckled merrily.
"Nagina," Le Fang Ling's face turned solemn and serious as she stared at the figure in front of her.
"Host, you caught up to me huh?" Nagina leisurely shrugged her shoulders as he crossed her arms in front of her.
She had been enjoying the scene with ease of mind. When her name appeared she was a little shook but a smile unconsciously left her mouth.
"Don't worry. I just used a temporary sedative on them." Nagina pointed at the two men who were snoring on the ground.
"I am not that poisonous." She smiled, squinting her eyes which were still glowing in a bright shade of red. There was still a bit of bloodlust in her eyes and Le fang Ling could see it clearly.
She herself had already calmed down. The aura around her disappeared and finally the weird air pressure of the area on that side returned back to normal.
She stood up from the ground where she was crouching down and walked toward Nagina in light and brisk steps.
"Do you want to let them go?" Le Fang Ling asked as she approached Nagina.
"You are free to do as you see fit." She added while standing a few meters away from Nagina.
They were the ones who misbehaved with her and did something irreversible. Although she knew Nagina was more than enough for handling a few drunk mortals, that did not justify their action.
If in place of Nagina, there had been anyone else..
Le fang Ling did not even want to think about anything at all.
"I don't know." Nagina rubbed her arms as she sighed in dejection. There was something within her telling her to kill them but a part of her brain was asking her to take rational decisions.
"I have this desire to kill them but," her voice shook slightly as she tried to regain her composure.
"I feel like if I do that, it will only mean more trouble for you." She smiled with a bitter expression on her face.
Seeing the current look in her face, Le fang Ling's felt a big lump on her throat while she felt as if her entire chest was being crushed under a big boulder.
She had never seen her look as she did. Wasn't she supposed to be a happy and smiling little girl?
"Nagina, come over here." Le Fang Ling gestured towards Nagina but the latter plainly denied her request and shook her head.
"I feel weird right now, so you should probably leave me alone." Nagina took a deep breathe and balled up her fist.
As she released her stress, she loosened her fist and glanced at Le Fang Ling.
"I am sorry for the trouble host." She bowed down as she asked for forgiveness for her incompetency. She was a system but she had not even a single idea about her own existence. She got weird influxes of data making her feel like shit.
This all made her see herself as a good for nothing tag along rather than a helping hand.
"I think it would have been better if you have gotten someone else, not some weird existence like me." It was the first time ever she felt something trickle down her cheeks.
"Tears?" She herself was surprised when she wiped the liquid that was accumulating in her eyes.
"See, which stupid AI cries?" She chuckled once again as she looked at Le Fang Ling.
Meanwhile, Le Fang Ling moved towards Nagina in silence.
"Just discard-" Nagina could not even complete her sentence when she suddenly felt warmth surrounding her.
"Speak no more." Le fang Ling's voice was cold and heavy as she wrapped her arms around Nagina. She tightened her hug with all her might.
"But, I.."
Out of nowhere, she felt a warm and wet sensation on her lips, electrifying her. The world seemed to become white for a moment, as all of her thoughts disappeared.
A pair of warm hand caressed her cheeks as it brushed behind the strands of hair from her face.
Nagina widened her eyes in fear and confusion when she was suddenly attacked like this out of nowhere. But her whole body stiffened at where she was as she tried to accept the fact that her lips were being eaten by her host.
Fang Ling opened her eyes and saw the pair of red eyes staring at her in confusion. Her innocence made her very heart flutter. It was as though there were thousands of feathers gently rubbing against her heart.
Le Fang Ling cupped her face in her palm and deepened their kiss as she slowly probed open the soft and untouched lips she had occupied.
Her original plan was only a small peck to stop her from spouting nonsense, but...
Now she was addicted to the taste of her lips.
