"Okay, okay, I'm coming right now," Alicia said, her eyes shining with joy as she replied quickly.

After hanging up the phone, she was filled with joy, yet also a sense of sorrow. To her, the role of a father had always been missing. Because of this absence, she yearned for it even more, but the more she yearned, the less she seemed to get. Over time, this longing turned into an obsession. There was always a void in her heart, which would occasionally feel like a draft. Whenever she saw her friends being pampered by their fathers, she would feel extremely envious.
