Madelyn Bouncing Back

"Eek!"

The door burst open.

Bella and Henry strolled in, chatting and laughing, with Morris tagging along.

As they stepped inside, they were shocked by the sight before them.

Madelyn looked terrible, coated in grime and water marks. Her hair, face, hospital gown, and sheets were all dirty. She was frantically wiping her face with a towel.

"Maddie, what happened?" Bella rushed to the bedside, wanting to help but unsure of where to begin.

Madelyn glanced at Lilith but remained silent. Lilith, however, bravely confessed, "It was me."

Henry's face darkened, and he lifted his hand to strike Lilith. "You little witch! Why are you doing this?"

Morris quickly intervened, pulling Lilith behind him for protection. "Uncle Henry, please calm down. Let's discuss this, no need to get physical."

Madelyn looked at Henry with a hurt expression. "Uncle Henry, don't blame Lily. She's young and doesn't know better."
