The Major Plan

The boy carefully takes a scrap of paper from beneath his foot. There are small handwritings that look like this :

R17778F

R26684H

He pauses for a moment, trying to find anything in his brain that could crack the codes. These numbers and words must mean something important to the girl. Right now he is not quite sure what those codes mean. If he doesn't have enough knowledge to unveil these codes. He certainly could ask the girl. Impliedly. He thinks to himself as he reflects a shifty gaze from his eyes.

The girl is busy splitting birchwood for their fire source materials. She swings her ax to the edge of the wood strongly splitting it in half. It is a good exercise and a way to organize her thoughts. She regrets giving the boy hug for whatever reason. By doing other productive things, she believes that she could forget the action that she just did.

Or maybe not. She shrugs knowing well that she's being in denial.

She is convincing herself that what she did back there was just mainly a good act. Yes. She is a good person that's why she hugged the boy. She feels sorry for the boy because he seems to have had difficult times before they met. There is a high possibility that the boy has PTSD. Even though he doesn't want to talk about it. The girl does not want to be nosy about his past and mental state.

But then again, the girl suddenly remembers what her mom said when she was still alive. Sympathy and love are only separated by a thin layer of paper. By means, it is so close that it's difficult for you to differentiate it. If you keep giving sympathy to someone, you begin to understand them, you feel their pain, and before you know it, you become part of them.

The girl swings her ax again. This time the wood doesn't split in half.

"Damn it…I can't focus." She sighs.

"Focus doing what?"

The boy appears suddenly, surprising the girl with his deep voice.

"Can you just…., not sneak around when I'm holding my ax?" She rolls her eyes.

"Sorry," he replies.

The boy wants to initiate a conversation. However, he realizes all this time he has never done it before. If they have a conversation, the girl always starts first. Because he does not know what to talk about plus he lost his memories. This time, he needs to do it first so he can execute his plan.

"There is something I want to ask, let's talk."

"But I'm cutting some firewoods now."

"It's fine, I'll do it later. Let's talk first." The boy holds the girl hand shyly.

"You're strangely cute today, okay let's sit on the porch in front of the house."

They sit side to side while the boy still holding the girl's hand.

"Right, now maybe you can keep your hands to yourself."

"Can't you just let it be?" The boy's corner of his mouth turns down looking sad.

"Why?" The girl asks nervously.

"Because I like it." He answers with glowing eyes and a beaming smile.

Oh My God. The girl thinks to herself. His honesty is just out of this world. And his smile is just—it is something that would be described in a novel or comic. When the male character smile, the flowers are blossoming and the birds are chirping.

"I was just wondering, are we going to keep hiding in this wood?" The boy inquires.

"No…, if that's what you have in mind. I won't be here forever." The girl answers.

"Then do you mind telling me what happened before we met?" The boy grips her hand softly.

It is finally the time. Yes, it's okay if one person opens up, the other person will also open up about their secret. We are close enough now. The girl says to herself.

After that, the girl tells the boy about how she lost her family. She has been keeping all this sadness to herself so when she's pouring the story to the boy, naturally, tears flow down from her cheeks. The boy hugs the girl slowly and pats her back. He feels like he is returning the favor that he has received. He also wants the girl to depend on him sometimes.

However, that information is not enough to break the codes. For now, the boy knows the reason behind her fiery gaze. He could feel her bloodlust when the creatures are around her. The girl has a strong desire to kill all the creatures that catch her eyes. The boy feels bad for using his smile to get what he wants. It is still worth the price. He holds the girl's secret.

The girl keeps on weeping. She feels relieved after telling the boy the story. But she just can't seem to stop her tears from falling down.

The boy wipes her tears with his hands.

"Are you feeling all better now?" He speaks gently.

"No…"

"Then I'm just going to carry you to your bed,"

He wraps his left hand on the girl's shoulder and his right hand on her tights. He squats down and rises lifting her body using his legs. He keeps her close to his chest enabling the girl to hear his heartbeat. He opens the house door using his right foot. Then, he puts the girl carefully on her bed.

The girl knows that the boy has a well-built body so he must be strong. But when he carries her around, he feels like a man. His scent, his muscular lean body, and his touch. She likes all of it. She could never get enough of it. But of course, she will never tell the boy. She will keep that secret to her grave.

"I don't want to eat dinner, I just wanna go to sleep now." The girl states as she closes her eyes, tired from crying.

"Okay," he says.

The boy casually walks to his sofa and glances at his shotgun. He looks at the shotgun for a while. Like a complete puzzle. He realizes something.

His mouth curves into a smile.

He breaks the code.
