Wolf's Zone

A young girl, Letty Black, understands that the last thing she remembers is her father's death. Her childhood, teen years, first kiss, and first love are a tabula rasa. Her memories are gone, and no matter what she did and how many qualified doctors she had seen, there's no progress in getting her memories back except for strange dreams: an unknown city, a handsome blond man with magnificent blue-brown eyes, and... wolves...? What do all those dreams mean? Is she mad, or that's a hidden world under her nose?

A man of her dream

Letty heard a knock on the door and opened it. Mary, the hotel clerk, was standing in the doorway and smiled brightly when she saw Letty opening the door.

"It's time to go to work! Are you ready?"

Letty saw Mary was already in another uniform that was completely different from the previous one. Then she had a knee-length black shirt, a white blouse with a round neckline, and a black jacket, but now she was standing in front of her in a black silk dress and hessian boots. She might be a dancer due to her look, even her makeup was brighter: black and silver eyeshadows, cay eyes makeup, and bright red lipstick.

"Almost. What should I wear?"

"Black skirt and white blouse is the common uniform of all waitresses. The emblem will be put on your blouse later. And put your hair together, we don't need red hair in any of the drinks or dishes".

"The moon badge?" Letty asked at ease, and Mary giggled in the same way.

"No, the emblem of the nightclub with your name on it."

Letty closed the door, changed into a black pencil skirt, white transparent blouse, black stilettos, and put her hair in a ponytail, took her purse with a diary in it, and went out of the apartment. Then she closed it and followed Mary to her new workplace.

"It was hard to leave everything as I left in Dallas, but I couldn't stay there any longer. Everything around me was so odd and alien, that I had a feeling I will never have my memories back in that alien place, and the only way to go was to this city. I remember it too brightly like I was happy there…"

"At first, we'll go to the manager," Mary said when they entered the nightclub building. Letty started looking over it to find out it was as expensive and well-looking as the hotel itself. The walls were dark gray, and each table had its own light, painting gray walls into different colors. The most popular lights were fuchsia, red, green, purple, yellow, and blue. Each table was served due to the lights on the wall. In the center of the room was a big dance floor with two stages where dance girls were working. The bar counter was right under the balcony.

Mary guided Letty to the bar counter and smiled at the barman.

"Are they in their working places?" She asked without specifying whom she was asking about, but the barman nodded.

"Yeah. Just arrived."

Mary nodded, took Letty's elbow, and guided her to the hidden staircase behind the bar counter, then they got upstairs and went to the balcony.

"There's a manager's office," she knocked a few times using some special code, entered after it, then put the envelope on the table, "Bella, I have found you a new waitress, but she has no experience at all."

"That's not a problem," Bella said, took the letter from the envelope, read it, then looked up at Letty, observing her from head to toe. She liked everything in that girl, and there was no wonder why Aiden cared about her so much. She was a real beauty. Bella put the envelope on her table, got around it, and took Letty's hand, "Thanks, Mary. We'll teach you everything you need to know, Letty. Don't worry about that."

Bella was one of the girls, whom you can't forget due to her dark skin color and long chocolate hair. Her deep dark green eyes were studying Letty from head to toe as if trying to look inside her soul.

Letty noticed a strange tattoo on her bare shoulder, and it reminded her of a wolf's bite she saw a few times in her dreams. It was like a mark that was indicating something, but she just didn't know what. Bella noticed her look, but didn't hide her tattoo or explain anything. She just straightened up her dark green cocktail dress and smiled friendlier than before.

"I think you need to talk with our boss now. He's here today, so you're actually a lucky girl. But, can I ask, for how long are you supposed to stay here, Letty?" Bella guided her away from her office and then led her across the balcony to the boss's office, while Mary went downstairs and disappeared.

"Until I get all the answers to my questions," Letty said and Bella nodded, going alongside the wall, then stopped, and turned to Letty, knocking to the wall.

"It's a door…" She whispered, and they both heard a hoarse male voice.

"Come".

When the wall moved from its place and freed them a path to the office, Letty blinked a few times from amusement. Isn't it pure magic? They entered the boss's office with Bella still squeezing Letty's elbow, and she let go of it only when the wall returned to its place, as if Bella was afraid that the girl will run away.

"What's up, Bella?" The same male voice asked, coming somewhere from the balcony.

"I have a waitress. I remember you told me we need one to help Catherine. Mary wrote in the letter that she settled in our hotel and agreed to work here to make her payment cheaper," Bella explained, looking to the balcony as if waiting for someone. After her words, a tall man turned from the balcony to his office and came closer to them.

Letty looked over him from head to toe. He was the same man she saw a dozen times in her dreams: a tall and muscled man with tanned skin, deep blond hair, and blue eyes. His face was wide at all points: a broad forehead, strong cheekbones, and an angular jaw. He had thick eyebrows, a straight nose, and plump pink lips. The man was dressed in dark gray jeans and a white T-shirt with a print on the chest area, "Not an Angel".

His eyes moved from Bella to Letty, and she finally saw the brown color in one of his eyes, as he was standing pretty close for her to notice it. And what's most important, she knows him.

"Aiden?" She asked, and his calm facial expression changed. He was amused, "I… I heard your name…"

She lied and he smelled it. He could smell all the lies, but in this case, he didn't say it.

"You're Letty Black, right? I'm the head of the city, so I know every newcomer", his facial expression became calm again, and he came back to his table, sat in a black leather chair, and took out some documents, "Bella leave us alone. Letty, come here please, and take your sit."

Bella went out of the office and Letty sat in a chair in front of him. He looked at some documents and then looked at her. It was something in his eyes she can't explain, and he can't hide.

It was something in his eyes and behavior that was making me feel comfortable even if I don't know him or, maybe, I know him considering the number of dreams I saw him in. I don't remember the content of those dreams; I just remember he was in there. Could it be that we were close to each other before I lost my memories? I had so many questions and absolutely zero answers.

Suddenly, he put the documents away and put his hand on mine. I felt some kind of electric shock moving from his hand to mine, and the atmosphere in the room became magnetic. My inner voice said this magnetism is because of the two of us, and I somehow felt it was true. His blue and brown eyes were so warm that I feel I…missed them.

"If you have something to tell me… Don't be afraid… I can help you…" He held my hand for some more seconds, then took his hand away, and I felt disappointment rising inside me. My cheeks blushed, and I lowered my gaze from his face to his chest, where I noticed the same mood badge I saw before.

"I… I just have so many questions, and I'm afraid to ask them because people will think I'm crazy…" I said and looked at him again, being afraid I will have hallucinations because of that badge. However, I wasn't sure that the wolf on the road was my hallucination.

"You can trust me, Letty," he smiled slightly and then hid his smile behind the hand that he pressed to his chin.

I felt I could believe him. I felt it from inside and my whole body was ready to believe him. Likewise, I don't know what's going on with me. Can I trust an unknown man so easily? Can I trust a man I saw a dozen times in my dreams but don't know in reality?

"Maybe a bit later… I'm still new here…" I replied and hid my hands under the table, as well as my look. He was disappointed, and it was easy to feel even without looking at Aiden. It made me feel bad too. It's still unknown to me, but I don't want him to feel bad, so… I decided to open my soul to that man from my dreams.

"Well…"
