Fate could hear the sound of footsteps traveling towards her location. Through both her experience in assassinations and her newly enhanced hearing, she could tell that there were only three individuals. Each of them what to have been lightly dressed as she couldn't hear the clanking of armor. But she could hear the sound of their weapons moving and what seemed to be a cane or a staff.
Fate stood at the ready, facing the large door on the side of the hall opposite to the throne. She had no idea who they were or why they were coming. Hell, she didn't even know if they were human. But she wasn't about to let her journey end when it has only just begun.
After a few moments, the doors opened up, proving her thoughts correct. One had dark brown hair, brown eyes, tan skin, and a muscular, scarred body. He was dressed in leather armor and carried a large claymore on his back.
The one on his left seemed to be a ninja. He was dressed all in black with a mask covering everything part of his head other than his eyes. He carried two daggers in sheaths behind his back.
The final one, Fate figured to be a mage. He had long, black hair, blue eyes, and pale skin. He was dressed in red robes that covered his scrawny body, and carried a wooden staff with a blue crystal at the end.
'What the hell is with the stereotypical bad guy group shit?' Fate thought to herself as she got a good look at these men.
"So this is where you ran away to, little bitch. Just come along quietly and we won't have to punish you too much," said the man with the sword.
"I'm sorry, who are you?" Fate asked with a crooked eye.
The three of them stood there stunned for a few seconds until the sword weirder finally spoke with a laugh, "Ha! Did you hit your head or something, little bitch? Or are you just trying to make a fool of us? Either way, I think you need punishment. We payed a lot for you, and we're not about to let you off."
Fate looked at her own hand, "So the owner of this body was a runaway slave," she said with a murmur, "Either way, I'm not going with you. Why don't you just go and fuck yourselves. After all, I can't image anyone else would want to fuck you."
Fate's words made a vein appear on the mens foreheads, "You Fallen Bitch!! A pathetic dog dares to talk to a superior human like that?!"
The swordsman took a step forward but stop in his tracks when she spoke, "I'm not a dog. I'm a wolf. And if you take another step forwards, then you're going to regret it."
Fate couldn't see it, but there was a faint, golden aura surrounding her, letting out an invisible pressure, but also sending a shiver of fear up the men's spines. They didn't know why they were so afraid. A couple hours ago, the little Fallen was shivering in fear of them. Why were they the ones suddenly afraid?
"Tch! You Fallen bitch!" said the warrior, drawing his sword and charging at Fate.
However, on Fate's side, she was wondering what the hell was going on as well. She saw the swordsman rushing her, but it was so damn slow! It looked like she was looking through a slow-motion camera. It almost seemed like it took him thirty seconds just to take one step.
'What the hell is going on?' Fate thought to herself, 'Is he really that slow? No… my eyesight has just improved so much that I can see things at a fraction of their actual speed.' She moved her own arms to find that she was able to move at a similar speed to her attacker, 'Damn. This is amazing!'
Suddenly, that warm energy in her body flared up, almost as if it was trying to get her attention, 'Interesting. I wonder what I can do with this magic of mine? Let's see…' Fate infused this power into her muscles and felt a burst of strength in her body, 'Awesome! Now, I'll infuse it inter my nerves and increase my reaction speed.'
Doing as she thought, she now moved at double the speed she did before. All the while, the man was still several meters away from her.
'Now,' she thought, 'Time to test my new body.'
Fate rushed towards the swordsman at a speed that he or the others couldn't react to. She arrived in front of him in a second. Then, with that strange power flowing through her muscles, Fate sent her fist right into the man's chest. However, she sure as hell wasn't expecting her fist to go through the swordsman's flesh and bone and for her fist to exit out his back.
Needless to say, everyone in the ruins were completely and utterly shocked. Blood gushed from the hike in the man's chest as he stood there frozen in horror. The other two in his group were staring, dumbfounded, at the Fallen that punch a hole straight through their leader's chest.
Fate herself was staring wide-eyed at the wound that she made. She had no idea that simply using this power could give her the strength to tear open a man's chest like it was made of paper.
Fate tore her arm from the man chest, making him fall to his knees and collapse, and examines it. Her claws and beautiful white fur were now stained red with blood.
"Well shit. I wanted to see how strong I was but I didn't think I'd do that. Whoopsie," she said with a small chuckle at the end.
The room was quiet until the robes man spoke in a rage, "You disgusting monster!"
A fire ball formed at the tip of his staff and launched itself straight at Fate. Fate forced the energy in her body out through her pours, and created a shroud of golden energy around herself. She didn't know why, she just felt like this was what she needed to do. Thankfully, her hunch was correct because as the fire ball hit her, it did nothing but explode. No damage was done to her whatsoever.
"You monster!" the mage said with a horrified expression, seeing his magic fail completely.
"Keep in mind that you're the ones that bought and attacked this monster. You really have no one to blame but yourselves."
"Shut up!" he answered as he prepared another spell.
Fate launched herself at the mage, this time grabbing her assailant by the face, and slamming him into the stone ground. The force was strong enough to cave in his skull and kill him instantly.
"Goddamnit! I wasn't trying to kill him either! Oh well," Fate looked at the ninja with a glare, "At least there's still one left."
