Arrogant at first sight (2)

The woman searches every door of the rooms and stops right before the ICU ward.

"Hello, Vedha!".

The doctor too comes to greet her and both share some words which went over Aditya's head for few moments.

He was kicked out from his trance by Vinoth's harsh stamp on his leg and coughs awkwardly.

Vinoth mutters "She looks young but her attitude just screams a strict mother's vibes from her".

Aditya smiles stepping ahead towards her.

The doctor introduces her "Meet Mr. Aditya. He is the Inspector".

Vedha forwards her hand formally "Hello, Sir".

Aditya acts cool and gives her a handshake "Hello, Ms. Vedha".

The doctor speaks "The patient is just 20. So, please becare while asking her the sensitive questions".

Aditya who expected Vedha to get shocked is shocked by her calmness.

Vedha gets the details from the doctor and asks "What about her family?".

Aditya speaks before the doctor "Yet to arrive".

Vedha nods before asking "Her other details? Like college and all?".

Vinoth nudges Aditya from behind and hands him the file with a teasing smile.

Aditya gives the file to her and she mutters a thank you.

The doctor takes her leave.

Vedha speaks breathlessly "How about giving me few minutes?".

Aditya tilts his head strangely and says looking at Vinoth "Sure...".

Vinoth shrugs blankly.

'For preparing herself?'.

Vedha takes a seat before looking into the details of the patient and her face is completely serious with no evidence of her previous smile.

Aditya who was watching her intently gets a glimpse of her frown, anger and finally worry.

She asks suddenly catching him red-handed "Can I- *frowns* Can I get her case file, Sir?".

Aditya coughs embarrassed and hands her the file muttering "Sure, Ms. Vedha".

Vedha glares at him till she gets the file in her hand while literally screamed 'Back off' and says calmly "Thank you, Inspector".

Vinoth who was watching these, starts controlling his laughs. He never saw Aditya getting this kind of treatment and walks to and fro to suppress his laughs. He can't miss this rare encounter! So, he needs a distraction! which is Walking!

Vedha stands after reading the file and asks "Now, what do you want me to do?".

Aditya instantly turns professional and speaks "Just want her to point the criminals from these suspect photographs. I will handle the rest".

Vedha nods forwarding her hand.

Aditya looks at her blankly "What?".

Vedha asks suspiciously "Usually officers will send me in with a call connected so that they can hear me? I am a media person after all?".

Vinoth sniffles his laughs and hands his mobile seeing Aditya standing dumbfounded "Here, Ms. Vedha. You can use mine".

Vedha takes a look at Vinoth before getting his mobile and dials her number from his mobile. She attends the call in her mobile and hands her mobile to Vinoth but Aditya gets it from her.

She squints her eyes in suspicion at their behaviour and walks into the ICU ward slowly.

Vinoth grabs his earphones from his pocket and tugs Aditya "Back to work, Man".

Aditya too sits with a smile plastered on his face in spite of this serious situation.

The Present.

The Hospital.

The doctor speaks reading Vedha's test reports.

"You have got a strong impact on your spine from the blow. Take the medicines and avoid stressing your spine. You can work but not too much. It will be too risky if you get any injury now which will add the existing tension there. Okay?".

Vedha nods slowly hearing the doctor's words. She is still absent-minded.

The doctor looks at Vinoth helplessly "Explain her when she feels alright". She takes a look at Vedha and shakes her head letting out a deep sigh.

Ever since she got her conscious back, Vedha is in deep thoughts.

Vinoth convinces the doctor "I will take care of her, doctor. She is just in shock but trust me she can handle herself better".

The doctor leaves with a nod.

Vinoth walks beside Vedha and asks holding Vedha's hand slowly "Are you okay?".

Vedha finally notices his presence beside her bed and nods looking at him slowly.

Seeing him hesitantly smiling, she knows something is bothering him "What is it? Want to say something?".

'Just tell me he is fine and coming back. Tell me he is only missing..'
