Li Na looked out, saw the three men staring at her and blinked in wonder. They had nothing better to do than stand there?
She waved at Wang Weiming and he almost instantly appeared in front of her, stunning the two men outside. "What can I help you with?"
Li Na saw his worried eyes and smiled. She mischievously waved at him to come closer and brushed her fingers over his face. White streams of flour were left there and she chuckled. "Is my oven done? I need to start baking cookies."
He nodded. "It is already outside."
"In that case let the servants light a fire inside, I'll be out soon." She needs to take care of the cookies.
As she took out the dough the two servants came near and froze as they met her cold eyes. "We just want to help."
She smirked and pointed at the well. "Then go wash dishes. Go."
With angry expressions, they strode out and met the three men looking at them icily. They bowed respectfully and rushed to the well while having a strange feeling in their bones.
No one was by the well, so they whispered as they washed dishes. "This is bad. How should we proceed with our plan? If they don't get their medicine today, the work we have done all this time would be a failure."
"But why does the medicine work only on the days of the full moon?" The younger one rubbed the plate angrily. "Only on the night of the full moon. What kind of poison is that?"
"Idiot. That is the only time they are weaker. Their bodies become prone to get sick or to become weak to poisoning. That's the only reason. But, they ate those strange cookies lately and their health became better. If that child prepares those things again and we can't stop her, then all these years are wasted." The one servant looked at the girl in the kitchen with narrowed eyes.
"Today is the full blue moon. Today they are just commoners. Should we call the secret soldiers to come?" The young servant looked at his brother with a smile.
"Yes. There is no other way. We should..." Suddenly shadows fell over their bodies and they froze. As they looked up they saw three icy expressions and knew they were doomed.
Li Na was now busy on the other hand. She could see from the corner of her eye that soldiers took the two men away, but didn't bother with that much. It was their home and she had no right to speak.
But she could feel a slight nervosity from the remaining servants and cooks. "Stop staring and do your job! They probably did something wrong. You all work here long enough to know they don't attack randomly. Now concentrate while I'm outside. Most of the dishes are done, so you can relax in a bit."
Actually, they relaxed right after her words. The Wang family is famously strong and strict, but they never punish anyone without a real reason. As long they do their job properly everything will be fine.
So they just relaxedly smiled and rushed to finish up.
Li Na, on the other hand, brought out the first plate with dark cookies and sighed as she saw three men staring at it with a hungry expression. "No. Cookies after dinner. Or you wouldn't be hungry. Now move, I need to bake them as long it is the proper time."
She looked up and saw the sun going down slowly, while the Emperor saw the full moon in the sky and remembered General Wang's words. The cookies are done only by the full moon. He looked up and saw a round plate of the moon and exhaled out of relief.
Wang Weiming looked at his grandfather and saw the mischievous smile on his lips. What did this old man tell him?
Li Na, on the other hand, had no time to play with them. Luckily she already tried to cook on a fire. Luke Coleman prepared a similar thing for her. They already knew she couldn't use gas or an electric oven.
She put the plate of cookies inside and explained to the nearby servant about the heat she needed. Luckily they understood what she asked them and controlled the temperature.
Soon the sweet smell started spreading throughout the garden and made the three men gulp, as she took out the first cookie plate.
She sternly looked at their greedy expressions and waved her finger. "No. Go to the main hall and wait. This needs to cool down enough. Go!"
Wang Weiming understood why she wanted them out and looked at the two men with icy eyes. "She said we go, then we go.''
With a quick swipe, he pushed the two men out of the door and when they were outside of the cooking yard, his face became icy. "Let's see what the two were talking about before dinner. By looking at her expression, she wants us to try her dishes first. We can have the cookies later on."
Actually, the Emperor saw her putting only one plate of cookies inside, not knowing that she made a bunch of it. "There are twenty in it. As the Emperor I want half."
Wang Weiming stopped and shook his head. "No."
The Emperor knew how stubborn this child was, so he tried to make a deal. "At least a third of it."
"No." Was the answer again and it made him grit his teeth.
"Then how many do I get?" His whole body shook. He is the Emperor, he should just make an Edict and get it all, but if he does that, these two people might flip the whole country for it and leave.
Wang Weiming then looked at him with a smile. "We only get how much she gives us. Either one, ten or hundred. It's her who will make a free choice. Don't pressure her. She is a tiny baby girl, if you scare her, she might choose never to make them again."
"She wouldn't dare to just do that, right?" The Emperor saw the girl with a new light. What kind of child is this to be so stubborn?
But looking at their smiling faces, it seems they liked her just like that.
