Testing out abilities and rest

The moment they resonated with the statue they felt elemental energy coursing through, it was such a euphoric experience that they didn't even notice the system message. The sheer power coursing through made them feel invincible, unmatched like no other but sadly it was a temporary feeling.

Over time the feeling greatly diminished until only in their core could they feel a sliver of that power, only then did they get register what was happening around them and the system notification.

"Yo what is this? System show the notification." Tristan asked what on what they recieved. His question was quickly answered when seeing the notification.

[Acquired skill: Elemental mastery Lvl 1 ]

"Oh damn we get a skill for this?" Craig asked as he was new to the system troupes.

"Yeah that's normally a fuction of a system, luckily it stayed with ours." Rushdiy said thankful that such a fuction was kept.

"Now for 10 english marks, can you explain what this skill does?" Craig asked curious on what the skill does and how it functions.

Before anyone could even think about the question Tristan immediately answered "Its most likely a passive skill" and that got their attention with Rushdiy gesturing for him to go on, "Probably a passive that either A, improves our energy efficiency or B, improves the power and strength behind elemental attacks or C all of the above." With his explanation finished there grew a silence as the guys realised the potential behind the skill.

Breaking the silence was Craig as he said a single line that shared their current thoughts on the situation "Well damn" then continuing after that "So your telling me-" but before he could speak further he was interrupted by Tristan.

"Look either we can check and discuss the skill or we can check out our abilities or look for a place to sleep as I quite like not sleeping outside." Tristan said giving them options on the situation.

""Abilities"" the three said in unison as if they were in a choir.

"Aight" said Tristan and they started discussing the abilities.

Sadly before they could even start talking about their abilities, they all realised that they can't use elemental energy and thus cannot use their abilities.

"So what now?" Asked Craig and they all turned to Tristan in unison.

Tristan sensing their gaze furrowed his brows and asked "What why are you looking at me?"

In response Rushdiy shrugged and said "I mean you are quite knowledgeable with stuff like this."

"Yeah with system stuff! Not elemental energy! Do I look like a descender?" Tristan shouted irritated that they thought he knew everything.

"I mean-" Keaghan was about to make a comment but before he could finish Tristan interrupted him.

"Don't you dare Keaghan, we may have the descender title but remember it is false so we're more like discount descenders, Chinatown versions if you will, so I don't have any knowledge bor an idea on this." Tristan stated clearing their misconceptions on him.

"So what now, we came all the way here for a power we can't use, for what again?!" Craig shouted angry at their situation.

All hope seemed lost until Keaghan asked a simple yet important question "Ok we can't use our elemental powers but what about our other abilities that you asked for, what do they do Tristan?"

But Tristan seemed lost in a daze when hearing Keaghan's question.

"Yo Tristan you okay?" Craig asked concerned over his friend. But that broke him out of his thoughts.

"Yeah nah I'm fine, justing thinking about how stupid I am." he says in a calm but sad voice "But anyway that's beside the point" he say, now with renewed vigor "Keaghan your a fucking genius thanks for reminding me about our other shit." He says happy over what he found out.

"You know something" Rushdiy asked knowing that Tristan has some sort of info for them.

"Yeah I just remembered about our most important skill that made everything we have" Tristan said shedding some light on the info he remembered.

"And that is?" Craig asked, a question they all wanted to know.

"Essence Of Blank, a skill that allows us to learn anything even others racial abilities as long as we put effort into learning it. And pair it with Essence Of Archmage allows us to learn any magic and seeing that there is a witch in monstadt as well as a secret witch group I thinks this makes a dangerous combo." Tristan said giving them an info dump.

"Okay now what do we do" Keaghan asked feeling cheated on this whole ordeal.

"Aight I'll explain my idea but before I do I don't want to get interrupted, got it?" Tristan asked and they all nodded.

"Alright so what we-"

"But what I don't understand" but before he could continue any further Craig interrupted him, in hindsight he should have seen it coming.

"Mhmmmm. I sense a dickishness nearby" Tristan said as he narrowed his eyes at Craig.

Craig merely shrugged his shoulders and gestured for Tristan to continue.

"Ahem" Tristan cleared his throat "As I was saying we need to-"

"Alright our next topic is s-" Craig, again interrupted Tristan but this time something else happened as well.

"Craig! Stop please, Tristan's knows about what we need to do so please shut up and listen." Keaghan said irritated over this back and forth.

"Ahem, thank you Keaghan and as I was saying, I think we need to try to focus on that feeling we got when we resonated with the statue while trying to move or have the elemental energy move and then we trust that blank will do it's job." Tristan said happy that no one interrupted him.

"Aight doesn't seem that difficult of a process" Rushdiy said thinking this would be easy, but boy was he wrong.

A while, it took them a really long while before they made any progress but when they did it only came when the the day was nearing it's end.

When the sun approached the horizon, suddenly the feeling, the feeling of that energy, the feeling of absolute power that flowed thought them returned but this time they knew that they had to control it this time and not let it run away.

Instinctually they knew what to do when trying to move the elemental energy, that acted like a stubborn child, but after a bit of "coercion" the energy started flowing smoothly and respond to their commands.

Finally now they can use elemental abilities.

"Woohoo! Fucking finally! I can use it! Fuck you world!" Rushdiy shouted, happy that he can finally use elemental energy.

"Yoh I never want to do this shit again." Tristan said tired over how this start has been.

"Yeah this was scuffed and full of bs" said Keaghan hoping that they don't do this again.

"Yeah, nah Rushdiy I'm with on this. Fuck! King! Finally!" Craig shouted, loud enough that nearby animals and beasts could hear him.

Seeing the potential problems that could happen due to Craig's shout, Tristan quickly acted and shut him up "Craig! Shut up and don't shout, last thing we need is to attract all sorts of vicious beasts and monsters to our location."

Hearing this, Craig sheepishly smiled and apologised "Oh shit sorry about that, didn't really think that one out."

"But you don't think Craig, your physically and mentally incapable of thinking as well as statistically." Taking a jab at Craig's intelligence was Rushdiy, who was irritated over what could have occurred due to Craig.

"Aight chill out" Tristan intervened, stopping both Rushdiy and Craig from wasting any more time "we have pressing matters to focus on, like this" he said as he lifts his hand, as if holding an orb with his palm towards him, as it takes on a green hue.

"Oh shii, that's pretty cool" Craig said impressed by that sight, then suddenly he got an idea. "Wait lemme see something" he said and tried to manipulate elemental energy. After a bit of effort he was able to make a green hue appear around his hand.

"Yes! Now check this out guys."

Cleave!" Craig shouted as he swung his hand in a horizontal chop but sadly it didn't go as expected.

Instead of the massive wind blade that seemed similar to the invisible slash used by a certain curse, all that popped out was a sad attempt so a slight breeze.

"Pfftt hahahahahaa, what was that supposed to be Craig." Asked Rushdiy who was dying from laughter.

"Hahahahaha." The same scene could be seen with Tristan.

Keaghan was the only one not 'laughing' but if you focused on him you could see him snickering.

"That 7 in intelligence doing you wonders Craig." Rushdiy said taking the opportunity to mock him further

"Oh fuck you, if you think that this is funny why don't you do it huh?" Irritated with the teasing, Craig challenged Rushdiy to do better than him.

"Aight I'll do it but Craig you misunderstood something, I don't think this is funny it IS funny Craig." Rushdiy said mockingly to Craig and then started focusing on controlling elemental energy.

Same a before but didn't take him as long as Craig to control it. After getting a decent grasp he decided to try something, bending his elbows so that his palms faced upwards and in a swift move, he rotated his wrist and pushed outwards with his palm, what accompanied that was a violent gust of wind, not enough to do damage but enough that it can be noticed.

The difference between Craig and Rushdiy's display was like night and day, if Craig's was like a breeze that someone blew with their mouth, Rushdiy's was like a household fan set to the max.

"See Craig that is how it's done not your cheap fan manoeuvres" Rushdiy said happy that he schooled Craig.

Seeing what Rushdiy did, Craig could only hang hang his head and admit his defeat. "Damn I lost, but next time I'm gonna beat you next time." But instead of sulking he resolved himself to beat Rushdiy one day

"Sure you will Craig, sure you will." Rushdiy said in a mocking tone. Curious on what Keaghan will make he asked him "But Keaghan you gonna try something?"

This sudden question startled him but he recovered and the same process that Craig and Rushdiy did, Keaghan did as well but it took him the least time among the three. Once he had a solid grasp on controlling it he decided to start, pointed his finger like while his hand was in the shapr of a gun, he prepared himself,he willed some energy out and he and said one word.

"Bang"

Faster than any of them could see a wind projectile was shot, which both impressed and scared the others.

"Damn Keaghan how'd you do that?" Craig asked hoping he could adapt that into his imitation.

Hearing his question Keaghan thought for a bit while Craig showed anticipation but Keaghan's answer would leave him more pissed and confused.

"Mmm, Mmmm, Mmmmmmm, I don't know, actually how did i do that? I went went purely on instinct." Keaghan admitted with a straight face

"Ah, fuck it then Imma go my own way." Craig said determined to get his 'cleave' to work but then realised that there was one person who did not try creating an ability.

"Yo guys someone else needs to go before we leave, ain't that right Tristan." As soon he called Tristan out everyone looked at him.

Seeing what Craig wanted to Tristan smirked and decided to mess with him.

"Aight lemme see oh wait I already have a use, made it when I first got the hang of manipulating elemental energy." Tristan said and immediately a small shiv of made of elemental energy.

"Aight now this is some bull!" Craig in an angry tone said "How just how? Ex-fucking-splain how out off everyone here I get the shittiest ability. We have Tristan and his bullshit prison shiv, Rushdiy and his fuckin force push shit, Keaghan with visible bullet nonsense and what do I get a fucking breeze, yoh yoh yoh yoh I need to calm down before I break something." And with that Craig's rant was over.

With Craig's rant over, and that they can now use elemental abilities, the others decided to just ignore it and continue with the their plan of getting a camp to stay at.

"Aight boi's I think it's time we go find ourselves that hillichurl camp so we sleep, because I don't know about you but I could use some rest." Unsurprisingly it was Rushdiy who expressed his desire to sleep.

"Yeah we need find a place to sleep, I don't wanna sleep in the wild." Said Keaghan agreeing with Rushdiy

"That was something I wanted to get done before night so let's go, I remember there was a camp nearby lemme check the book real quick." Tristan said and started to look for the book, quickly he found a necklace with a book pendant and after a bit of trial and error was able to get the book. "Now what do we have here, hmm oh so go there, there then here turn here and ok, aight bet lets go, maybe even pick up some fruit alonh the way." After memorising the path Tristan took the guys to the camp.

"*Nom* Not too bad of a place now we just need to barricade this then we can finally sleep." Tristan said looking at the empty hillichurl hut while eating a sunsettia. "Aight boi's can we sort this out before we hit the hay."

"No worries brother, I got you." Craig said, volunteering help fortify the area.

"Welp let's get this over with.' Keaghan said in a tired voice clearly showing his irritation for the situation.

"Seeing as everyone else is helping, I might as well help too." Rushdiy said, ok with this arrangement.

And after a tedious process they were finally able to barricade the house.

"Aight boi's Imma hit the hay see-ya" Tristan gave his goodnight greetings and wen to sleep. That acted as a catalyst and soon the other three went to sleep, using the plentiful rugs they found for comfort against the elements.

And just like that, their first day in teyvat passed.
