Chapter 221: The Untold Story of Clark and Dormammu

Clark's three ventures into the quantum realm became crystal clear after Aunt Janet's assistance. To Clark's surprise, his first encounter with Dormammu wasn't when he donned the Ant-Man suit and inexplicably entered the quantum realm.

Indeed, he had encountered Dormammu in the quantum realm, but that wasn't the first time. Clark's initial encounter with the entity, resembling Thanos' chin in appearance, occurred as his soul or consciousness journeyed from Earth in his previous life to the Marvel Multiverse.

His soul traversed through the quantum realm, a mysterious passage even Marvel's advanced technology couldn't explain. The journey was a kaleidoscope of colors and thrills, similar to the scene where Doctor Strange experiences an astral projection under the Ancient One's guidance. However, witnessing it on screen is vastly different from experiencing it firsthand.

Clark's journey was faster and more intense than the legendary astral projection. During this petrifying high-speed, zero-gravity flight, he wanted to scream but couldn't produce any sound. He yearned to faint but remained painfully conscious.

During the journey, Clark saw a black shadow consuming a vast universe. Above this shadow, there was an orb radiating seven-colored light, seemingly formed from an incredibly pure and powerful energy. This energy was far more terrifying than anything Clark had encountered, dwarfing even universal energy. The disparity between them was like comparing fireflies to the sun.

At that time, Clark didn't fully grasp what he saw. However, with his current knowledge, he recognized this energy as the ultimate form created by the shadowy figure after absorbing and refining the universe's fundamental energy.

This energy was unfamiliar yet eerily familiar to Clark, as if it were an intrinsic part of him – inseparable and undeniable.

The next moment, Clark received his answer. As his consciousness brushed past this energy during his traversal, it was absorbed into his soul, becoming one with him. Dormammu's essence, inadvertently snatched by Clark, took on a form resembling Thanos' chin, manifesting his anger.

Dormammu appeared, pursued and roared, but was helpless against the rapidly traversing Clark. Dormammu, hindered by a force in the quantum realm, couldn't act freely, while Clark's soul merged into his current body, vanishing from Dormammu's sight.

Thus, the traversal was complete. Clark realized a terrifying power was hidden within him. He shook off the confusion and turned to his second memory.

This memory concerned his accidental entry into the quantum realm while testing the Ant-Man suit. His previous soul journey created a quantum entanglement, which, upon shrinking, led him uncontrollably to the subatomic level and back into the quantum realm. With no recollection of the previous experience, everything felt novel.

Due to the entanglement, he headed towards the universe being devoured by Dormammu and encountered him again. Clark realized that Dormammu's main body wasn't in the quantum realm; only a fraction of his energy formed a presence there, much like the Omar he encountered in the space fissure.

In that unknown universe, two energies and a shadow escaped the devouring universe. One energy, red and chaotic, was feared even by Dormammu, who quickly ceased his pursuit. Taking advantage of this, a white energy fled at incredible speed, brushing past Clark. Then a red and black figure followed, enduring and rapidly healing from Dormammu's attacks.

Dormammu shifted his attention to Clark, deeming him more valuable than his previous targets. Clark, newly slimmed down and weaker than Daredevil, was no match for Dormammu, even just a fragment of him.

As Dormammu's dark tentacle entangled him, Clark's indomitable spirit awoke a powerful battle music in his mind. With this, he shattered Dormammu's avatar using quantum energy. But this overexertion brought severe backlash, leaving him near unconsciousness until Janet timely revived him.

However, due to specific quantum flow patterns, Janet couldn't maintain contact with Clark, leaving him with only a vague impression upon waking. Clark then escaped the quantum realm using methods depicted in Ant-Man, with Dormammu's dark mark imprinted on him.

The last memory was simpler: Clark and Mindy, in their mission to rescue Hank, were swept into the quantum realm, losing consciousness and traveling from 1999 to 2008. Clark's powers increased significantly, and Mindy awakened her abilities, but little else of note occurred.

Understanding his past with Dormammu, Clark summed up their relationship: he had unwittingly stolen from Dormammu, who now sought both his possession and his life. Yet the power was now part of Clark, irretrievable unless he died. But why should he return something he claimed rightfully? Dormammu was evil, after all.

With Dormammu unable to cross over yet, Clark believed his growing strength would be sufficient to confront him in due time.

As Clark sorted his past, Aunt Janet helped Mindy recover her memories. Janet's aid greatly improved Clark's condition, allowing him to sense and potentially control the quantum energy within him, although mastery remained out of immediate reach.

Clark's quantum physics knowledge also advanced significantly, ranking just below Hank and Janet's.

Meanwhile, the Avengers rejoiced at Janet's return, lifting everyone's spirits, including Tony, who usually harbored reservations about Hank. The only disappointment was for Ava, whose intermittent memory loss was more severe than Clark's and Mindy's. Janet's powers only managed to suppress Ava's physical anomalies, a result inferior to Clark's Qi.

Unable to offer a complete cure, Janet apologized to Ava before leaving with Hank to enjoy family time. Clark, comforting Ava, promised to help control her condition with his Qi until a permanent solution was found. Ava, leaning into Clark, timidly asked if she could sleep with him that night.
