Chapter 76

Excusing himself from the guarding duty Sean followed the group of mercenaries and entered the Salt Lake city gate after being subject to multiple security checks. Mostly identity check, check on whether he was from any registered guild, weapon's license etc.

After the check Sean followed a particular group a few paces behind. In this group there were a total of 7 members apart from Cornelia herself consisting of four women and three men. Amongst the three men one was Kelly Ashburn who was following Cornelia around like a dog and the other two men were his lackeys.

Amongst the four women one was Kelly Ashburn's fiancé and the other was the black hearted potty mouthed girlfriend who was trying her best to keep a straight face. The other two were the women who were partnered with Cornelia when she was the guard of the scouts.

Currently Cornelia was making her way to the mercenary guild. Her aim was to get the info on recent happenings in the capital and possibly the current situation her future husband was in. Unlike in small cities which they had previously passed the mercenary guild's building in this city was huge and the style with which it was built was unique as well.

Back when they were in Golem city the building's outer structure was made of sandstone giving the building a rough look. The inside had a mixture of granite and marble for tiles and different images were sculpted to the wall. The rough interior and exterior design to the guild building created both a strong and indomitable presence from the outside and a warm atmosphere on the inside.

But here in Salt lake city the entire guild looked more like a medieval cathedral. The buildings were tall with conical points at the top. The exterior design was more like the cathedrals built in England during medieval period and the colour were of grayish white giving the building an ancient feel from the outside.

Entering in there were many mercenaries and adventurers, some as groups, some as individuals either taking missions or simply talking with each other. Cornelia ignored her group and made her way to the front desk. There were a total of three women, all young beautiful and enchanted everyone with their smiles and the way they dressed.

"The latest hot news within the kingdom please" asked Cornelia in a hurried tone. Her heart was beating fast because the outcome of the battle between the two princes affected her very life and that of her family. She knows the rivalry and enmity between her father and Jared. Despite her father being the current head of the warrior faction she felt scared for her father's life every time he went out for any mission or clan related meetings.

Her father was known as someone who was extremely loyal to the clan and to the kingdom and hated any and all involvement in illegal activities making the other members in the warrior faction dissatisfied.

Once a member despite the repeated warnings engaged in kidnapping young girls for prostitution and was executed on spot once the matter was found through investigation. This has led the other members to both fear as well as hate her father and in the process selected Jared as their unanimous leader to succeed Gabriel.

Despite this there were still many who respected and followed Gabriel and Cornelia knew that the faction behind Jared was still biding their time and any slip up from Gabriel could very well spell disaster to her family and that slip up might very well not exist if she ends up marrying the crown prince and becoming the Queen.

Paying 10 gold coins Cornelia received a memory crystal in the process. This was a crystal used for recording information and was usually used in selling news, recording videos etc. This was also used in storing info about students back in Four leaves academy in Golem city.

Getting to a corner Cornelia injected her Qi into the memory crystal and browsed through the info. Well we cannot call it browse as the info she was expecting was displayed in big ass words at the front page of the memory crystal.

"The battle between Princes, Lux Arcadia becomes the crown prince!!. Desertion from Voight Arcadia, the fallen crown prince, last sighted escaping the borders of Arcadia kingdom".

Cornelia's face turned pale and her body swayed. Though this was the hot current news, according to the date mentioned in the info the battle between Voight and Lux had reached its climax around 12 days ago. In other words the travel through these dangerous plains by masking herself as a mercenary has all been for a naught. No this entire journey has been nothing but a waste of time.

Cornelia didn't care about Crown Prince's desertion but the thought bout her family being imprisoned by that lecherous fucker Jared made her stomach churn and turn pale. 'I need to return to my clan immediately. Considering how dangerous those perverts were I am afraid of my mother's safety'.

With this thought she tried to make her way to the entrance of the guild however she was stopped by a fake gentleman Kelly Ashburn.

"Fuck off motherfucker!! Can't you read my obvious signal. I am not interested in your ugly ass face nor am I interested in your stupid background. If you don't want to get killed by me, get the fuck out of my way". Cornelia was absolutely livid. She had lost all her noble temperament and talked like a woman from streets turning the people near the group shell shocked. The group of 7 were much worse. The girls were so shocked that they had their mouth wide opened. The girls try their best to maintain their image and never speak vulgar in front of men as that would make them unattractive and undesirable.

Kelly Ashburn's face was ugly. This was the first time he had been shouted at. Though he was attracted by the cold demeanor of Cornelia and was intent on making her his girlfriend he did not expect that he would be shouted at in front of his fiancé, his bitch and his two lackeys.

'This bitch, I had given her so much face by being a gentleman but she actually shouted at me. Does she think that just because of her cold demeanor I would accept any treatment. You think that just because you act all high and mighty with that cold act you are a noble woman from big family. You should feel happy that a man like Kelly is showing an interest towards a bitch like you. Bitch fall on your knees and apologize to him".

If everyone froze when Cornelia shouted at Kelly now everyone's wars were practically bleeding. "Damn what is wrong with women these days?" whispered one of mercenary near them.

"Just hearing from afar people would think that they were a bunch of women from slum area. It doesn't look like a woman from good background" said another.

"Damn!! women these days are so ruthless" said another.

Cornelia froze for a second not expecting this. She had been in a very bad mood these past 10 days and today after hearing the news she wanted to go to her hometown as soon as possible but it seemed like the pest that had been creating trouble for her these past 10 days was creating more trouble and just as she gave a piece of her mind the pest's little bitch just stepped up her game.

Cornelia felt murderous at this moment. She wanted nothing more than to torture and kill this woman just to set an example. She who hailed from a large mage clan and treated like a princess since young age was subject to verbal slurs and profanities by a woman who was nothing more than a side bitch to a young master of a medium class family.

Sean who had stayed behind this group was trying his best not to laugh but still a weird noise came from his mouth and few shivers from his body would have been apparent if anyone had noticed him. Unfortunately or Fortunately for Sean everyone had their eyes on Cornelia and the foul mouthed side chick expecting a cat fight to start.

Well Cornelia did not disappoint the spectators. With a scream calling the side chick as bitch Cornelia sent a powerful kick to her stomach. The side chick was a level 6 warrior and Cornelia was a level 8 warrior and the result between them was apparent.

The kick landed on the solar plexus of the side chick taking the air out of her followed by whatever she had eaten for breakfast. The floor near the reception of the mercenary guild was soiled by the side chicks multicoloured puke making every mercenary in the vicinity take a few steps back and so did Kelly and his entrege.

With a pissed off face Cornelia stormed out of the guild building and Sean quietly followed her from behind. He did not know what had set off Cornelia but he decided to give her some alone time before asking about it.
