Chapter 76

At the same day, principal Black called all the elders and instructors of the academy for a meeting. She did not say what it was about, but everyone was anxious because she did meetings rarely.

"Do you know why she called us?" A man asked another one that was walking together with him.

"No, I get the message and I came here, do you think soothing happened?"

"Maybe, she rarely calls us to meet together."

A third one joined them and asked too:

"Did you hear if something happened in the academy?"

"No, we also have no idea."

The whole floor was filled by instructors and elders walking in little groups to the meeting room and they all had no idea why the principal called them.

"Do you think someone is in trouble?"

"I heard rumors that she is already a 6th Star knight, maybe she wants to go in recluse."

"Really, I thought the whole time that she was a 5th Star knight, she is so young!"

"Yes, how do you think our academy gets so much help from the empire, it is only because of her. You are a new instructor, so it is normal that you did not know it."

They all were conversating till they reached the meeting room and entered it. In the meeting room were Principal Black and the others on her side. Because they were the official disciples of the principal, they had the right to sit equally with eh elders and instructors.

Whatever, as everyone entered the room, the elders sit on the right side and the instructor on the left side of the room. They were 15 instructors in total and 9 elders. The elders were the one that operated the academy and the instructors had to deal with the students affairs and teaching.

The elders were normally between 3rd and 4th Star and they had the various duties, but they had only little to with students. At the same time there were instructors that were also between the 2nd and 4th Star that worked to teach students and everything that involved students. This two type of posts had almost equally power, but the elders had more saying in the academy, because they managed the academy. And thanks to them, the principal had not so much work.

The elders and instructors could also change the posts if they wanted, but they needed to fulfill some requirements. There were also no problems between the two of them, because the one that supervised the relationship between those two group was the principal itself and she did until now a very good job intermeddling with both.

"I called you today to present a new idea that I developed to produce more quality students in the future. I am here to listen your opinion, do you agree?" Principal Black began to speak and to show her authority, she spoke with dignity of a queen and with the strength of a king. She did not look weak in the room filled with men.

"We agree, principal."

"Good, I want to open a junior academy for young people, that still did not awake the mana core or meridians. It will be a preparation academy for everyone, that will not cost anything. Everyone will be able to attend the junior academy." She stopped and looked at them all.

They were surprised by this idea, then they never heard of something similar.

"Principal, it is not only a waste of resources? What can they bring us?" asked an old man that sat in the right side of the elders. He could not understand her idea and thought that it was an impulse of being young. "They are only children and the most of them will not become cultivators, so why should we teach and train them?"

Principal Black knew that the most of them were traditional and they would think that this idea is only a waste of money.

"Think about it as an investment for the future of the academy and the city, if the younger generation grows up well trained and they can read and write and learn various subjects, then they will be successful, even if they do not awake as cultivators. It is better than growing to be a generation where the majority only works in the market and do notjing to develop the city and empire. We have the resources to grown up a generation of successful people that will work the empire to be better. We should not forget that the cultivators are only the minority and the normal humans are the majority."

"Did you hear the example that a successful men have to know how to read and write? If the majority of people cannot read and write, then the geniuses between them that had no chance to learn go to waste. I want to change that and give everyone an opportunity."

"And money is not an excuse, we can finance a lot of such academies for years with the money we have in the treasures. Let us use a part of it for the good of the future."

The whole meeting room felt into silence, they all were thinking about what the principal said. They knew that this idea was a very good idea, but they also knew that it brought a lot of problems with it. One of the reason why such ideas were not accepted normally was because the people in the power did not want to have intelligent people under them.

If all the people could write, read, and have their own opinion, then everything would be more difficult. That was why they preferred to have an ignorant population than a intelligent one.

But they wanted to give it a try and accept this idea, because the majority of them came from normal families that had not enough money to send them to a teacher to learn to write and read. If they did not have the luck to awake, then they would be now in a market selling fruits or in working as servants in some restaurants.
