Final Battle

Upon entering the arena, multiple shadows cast an eerie presence, shrouded in darkness. Whenever I attempted to gaze directly at them, my mind would crumble, and my vision would falter. Yet, as the veil lifted, I found myself face to face with a girl, accompanied by the golem I had previously vanquished. Notably, a trio of wolves stood by her side. So, she prefers to fight alongside a pack, it seems.

As always, I commanded my slime to dig beneath the surface. However, the astute wolves caught wind of the slimy intruder. Their behavior mirrored that of my own companion, alerting their master to the presence of the slime. It appeared I was in a precarious situation. But that did not deter me.

With a swift maneuver, I conjured a flaming blade in my hand and hurled a fireball toward the girl, obscuring her vision. Utilizing the art of Fading Strike, I maintained the illusion of remaining in the same position while ascending high above, awaiting the opportune moment to strike. My slime emerged from the earth's depths, attracting the attention of everyone present. Seizing the opportunity, I descended with my flaming blade poised, prepared to end the battle swiftly.

Alas, as I drew near, my flaming blade collided with an invisible barrier encircling the girl. The impact sent me hurtling backward, though it seemed the shield had at least been weakened. Now, the wolves were in pursuit, and the golem continued to shield its master. In their airborne assault, I managed to seize one of the wolves, while the other two sunk their teeth into me.

Absorb. Though they failed to grant me new skills, their essence provided a much-needed rejuvenation of stamina. And just like that, after assimilating the strength of the three wolves, I found myself brimming with energy. The girl branded me a monster, to which I merely replied, "Perhaps, but I am a survivor."

Activating my Body Strengthening ability, I lunged towards the golem with my heated steel blade. In one swift motion, I pierced its eye, a testament to the substantial growth I had achieved since our previous encounter. The girl appeared desperate, tears streaming down her face as she professed that everything she had done was in the name of survival. Sympathy welled within me, and with compassion, I swiftly decapitated her in a single powerful swing, sparing her from further suffering.

Absorbing her skills, I acquired newfound abilities: Monster Domination 2, Holy Barrier 3, and Mind Reading 1.
