Auction House

I’d left Zin by the picture window and headed upstairs to change. I was nervous. The pit in my stomach was growing bigger by the second. I knew that if I died, I would still come back, but I didn’t want to die again. It wasn’t easy to do. Besides that, I had become accustomed to long black hair.

Putting on my leather pants and hoodie, I pulled my hair into a bun. Looking in the bathroom mirror, I realized I’d left my neck significantly bear, but I doubted Zin would try anything.

Heading back downstairs, I could see everyone was by the front door, getting ready to go.

Reggie smiled at me as I came down, “We’re going to head out first and meet you guys there. Several Shifters are guarding the building right now, and Lou is already there, according to the call Pheral just got. So, we will get things set up as soon as we get there.”

I nodded and asked, “Sounds good. Where’s Zin?”
