Outside The Dragon's Tomb

Headmaster Gram was waiting for them when they exited the tomb, alongside a slightly shorter person with sharp menacing eyes and pointed ears, his eyes were as gray as the robes he wore.

He stood there casting a superior air as if he had just been disturbed in the middle of something important.

The Elves who had entered with Ra and the others quickly bent low in a graceful bow.

"Headmaster," they spoke in unison. "Show me what you've found." He said, nodding at them.

The Elves all looked at Ra who nodded before taking out the treasures they found.

Seeing this the Elves Headmaster seethed with anger however he soon hid his emotions.

Ra and the others also took out what they'd taken from the Dragon's Tomb.

But while Headmaster Gram beamed in delight, the Elves Headmasters expression grew more and more gloomy.

Headmaster Gram laughed whilst clapping him on the back,

"Old thing, don't be grumpy!" He grinned "Ours was a small bet, let's just forget it," he offered kindly.

"You think I cannot honor such a small bet? Worry not! I shall pay what I owe!"

The Elves Headmaster could not contain his pride and insisted on paying.

"Then, I await your good news Priyur," Headmaster Gram grinned.

Headmaster Priyur snorted before waving his arm.

A golden portal appeared before him and he stepped through it, but before the remaining Elves left, they each came up to Ra one by one and offered a small bow of respect, turning and entering the portal immediately afterwards.

Headmaster Gram watched this scene with some interest calmly pulling at his thick black beard.

"I am eager to hear the story behind this," He thought with a wry smile.

When the Elves had gone, Ra revealed the dragon soul to Headmaster Gram.

"Headmaster," he began, "We found many things inside the Dragon's Tomb, the things the Elves were able to take away was only possible because I allowed it.  I alone made this decision and will accept any punishment." He finished and hung his head.

"My boy," said Headmaster Gram, "A leader will always strive to ensure that those who follow him do not bear grudges or harbor resentments, I do not fault you for your decisions." He said, revealing a wide smile that showed how proud he was of Ra's actions.

"Now tell me about this blue orb you've brought out." He said with some excitement.

Ra hung his head again.

"Headmaster, this is likely the most valuable item we've found in the Tomb, it is the Dragon's true inheritance, its soul." Ra said.

"The dragon soul is the culmination of all of the Dragon's power, its strength and abilities, as well as all of its accumulated knowledge."

Headmaster Gram was nearly beside himself with joy but Ra continued.

"However, this one had already bonded to me." He finished as he watched his Headmaster visibly deflate.

"No matter, no matter, it is as it should be, either way our Academy has gained twofold.

A powerful Slayer and new information that will shake the foundation of Dragonslaying!"

Ra didn't have the heart to dash his hopes again so he remained silent about the fact that Dragons had to willingly impart their dragon souls before death.

"Alright, Let's return!" Headmaster Gram beamed proudly at each of them as a bright blue portal formed as his arm made a wide sweeping arc.

The 15 of them cheered excitedly as they ran toward the portal, disappearing.

Headmaster Gram gave one final look back at the Tomb shaking his head as he did so.

"Still not what we hoped for…" he sighed before stepping through the portal and disappearing.

It was extremely silent with their absence, but a disembodied voice broke through the air.

"Interesting, it seems my plans will have to advance...sooner than anticipated." The voice faded with a laugh.
