Charming The Men

Xiara was shaking, her skin pale white, she raised a trembling finger to eye level and aimed it at Ra, "Why do you frequently find yourself in dangerous situations..." she asked with a hint of a tremor in her voice.

Ra rolled his eyes, "I did not force you to come, you had every opportunity to leave," said Ra suspiciously, "I'm beginning to suspect you of having other motives." he fixed her with a penetrating stare before turning away, no longer bothering with her.

Bast, however, would not let her off as easily, "At the first opportunity, you can find your own way back to the lower plane," she spat at her with no small amount of disgust.

Xiara hung her head and looked away, the shadow of a strange expression briefly visible on her face.

"Morrigan, Solara," Ra spoke up.

Solara, still in human form seemed to materialise out of thin air by his side, the truth, however, was that she had never left it.

Morrigan had flown in a tight circle and now hovered several feet above the ground, powerfully batting her wings.

She gazed at Solara for a moment, and then her body began to emit a thick grey fog.

The fog seemed to fall to the ground like a falling stone in slow motion, and when it dissipated, there was a beautiful human girl with long white hair in its place. Her eyes were silver orbs and her face had cat-like features. She had an oval face and pale white skin, as well as a nose so small it may have well been a button.

She looked absolutely adorable, Basts' eyes were shining as the little girl rose from a crouched position to stand on unsteady legs as naked as a newborn. Merlin tactfully looked away as Ra wrapped the girl in his cloak. Morrigan had a mischievous grin on her face as she studied her limbs, open and closing the fingers on each hand.

Gwyn was loud in his shock, for a Dragon that rarely spoke he was surprisingly vocal during this time.

"Wow! that is so cool!" he exclaimed, bounding around his sister's new form, his wings were folded tightly against his back as he ran in small circles and inspected her body.

"How did you do it? Teach me, teach me, teach me, teach me!" he demanded excitedly, Morrigan shrugged, "Intuition?" her answer was more of a question, "I'm not even sure I can change back, I just..." her voice trailed off,

Bast came forward and wrapped her arms around her, her face bore a gentle expression. "You wanted to stand beside your father." she offered. Morrigan nodded.

Bast squeezed her tighter, and Morrigan squealed happily.

"Ima try, Ima try!" Gwyn yelled determinedly, and the next moment his little snout was covered in wrinkles and his eyelids were shut tight over his silvery orbs. From time to time he released odd noises that resembled something like grunts, however, nothing changed and the rest had soon left him to his own devices.

They were currently camped along the banks of River Ard, it would soon be dark and they planned to enter the catacombs during the day. Ra wanted Solara and Morrigan to scout in two seperate directions, in the east to keep a close watch on the Ardian Palace and the north, where the town the catacombs had been discovered lay. Optimally, they wanted to enter the town and by extension, the catacombs, undetected if possible.

Ra carefully outlined his plan until he was sure everyone knew their roles.

Morrigan further surprised them when she rose into the sky without wings and flew in the direction of the town.

Bast and Xiara were sent to quietly infiltrate the town by pretending to be travelers, and he and Merlin would protect them from the shadows.

He didn't look it, but Merlin was immensely powerful in his own right, far more powerful than Bast, Ra suspected Merlin must have had an encounter with a strange form of magic, because even though he was unable to see through him, it was clear that it was still Dragon magic, but purer, as if it originated from within rather than without.

Ra entertained the thought that Merlin may have become a Dragon, and almost fell into a fit of laughter at the thought. He grinned at his friend who gave him a strange look as they walked like twin shadows between realms.

Inside the town, Xiara had already turned on her charm and flocks of young boys had quickly surrounded the two women.

Ra was able to witness Xiara's shamelessness up close as she interacted with the males, "Hi cutie," she crooned, tilting an average looking young man's head up with a hand and a finger caressing his jawline, a shiver seemed to shoot through the poor man's body as he quivered with excitement. "My friend and I are lost," she pouted, and Bast rolled her eyes; a look of contempt quickly souring her expression.

"Can you tell us where we are?" Xiara continued as if she didn't notice.

The male nodded eagerly, his eyes listless with lust, "Beautiful ladies, you are in Ardarian Village, It's a town but it started as a village and no one ever thought to change it," he said excitedly as Xiara moved closer to him and he felt his arm sink into her cleavage. He licked his lips, "My lady, if I may be so bold, if you need a place to stay-" But Xiara cut him off, "No, thank you." she said brightly. Finally releasing him, the males hopeful expression was instantly replaced with one of disappointment. However, the yearning in his eyes did not fade, "Will I-" he hesitated, his arm half extended towards their retreating backs, he mustered his courage and tried again, "Will I see you again?!" he blurted, his cheeks reddened as he stood out from the crowd of enthralled males.

Xiara turned around and flashed him a small smile, "Maybe," she said teasingly, and then turned away from him once more.

"That's dangerous!" Bast hissed at her as she glanced back at the throng of lovestruck men. But Xiara merely shrugged, responding evenly; "Which step did you take, then, that wasn't fraught with peril?" Xiara met her gaze with a level one. "This is the path we've chosen, isn't that right?" She shot back.

"Oh, bravo," Bast sneered, "only, where was this bravado after your encounter with the Queen's guards?" she snapped, and without waiting for a reply, no longer paid Xiara any attention.

"Just a moment of weakness," Xiara said quietly, and sadness could be heard in her voice, "any normal person would react the same..." she thought this last part to herself, even she needed convincing.

Wow, this took a while to finish.
