Getting married

Jason was very distressed with the damage done after visiting her family. He called doctor Charles over the minute they arrived at home.

"It seems she might have some preconditioned reaction to her external family. If she's really been living with them for the past eight years then it must not have been a good eight years for her. I suggest you keep her from there at least until she gets better if she's going to withdraw like this every time she interacts with them"

"It won't happen again" Jason promised

"For now just let her have familiarity and security from the things around her"

Jason stared at Karen who stared back at him with a dull blank look on her face.

Marcus layed flat on his belly, playing a video game on his phone.

"What are you doing Marcus? Won't you go swimming with Jason today?" Genny, Marcus's little sister asked expectantly.

"None of your business" he replied gruffly.

"Oh come on big brother, I need new merchandise. The old ones have all expired with drool"

Genny said aggrieved, holding out some worn-out pictures of Jason in swimming trunks and other sports gear.

Marcus frowned at her disgustedly." You should just give up. He's too busy playing with his little girl."

Genny was bewildered. "What did you say? He's playing with a girl!?" She screamed.

"Just stop disturbing me alright. If you really want to know, you can ask him yourself" Marcus retorted. Marcus had never been supportive of his sister's obsession with Jason. He lived his sister very much and realised that Jason wasn't the sort fall for his sister when he hadn't fallen for her after all these years. He had just allowed it because other men were just not good enough for her. He loved his sister too much to hand her over to some one like himself or anybody not as good as him. There just weren't a lot of men better than himself.

Genny was so curious that she stomped over to her grandmother, the only one who gave her full support in pursuing Jason.

"Grandma, Marcus says Jason has a little girl? What does he mean?"

Grandma Hue had actually heard from her husband who met with Old master Wu just Thursday that Jason had gone in for a sick little girl. Grandma Hue really didn't know how to tell her granddaughter that Jason had chosen such a girl over her.

"Come here Genny" She said patting the space beside her on the couch. After Genny sat, her grandmother started. " Look Genny, men are the strangest creatures sometimes. They can do all sorts of things that have nothing to do with logic."

"What are you saying? Does he have a girl or not" Genny asked distressed.

"Calm down. Now that your brother says he has a girl, you should know that it's the truth."

"What! No way! Could he just be playing around with her?"

Grandma Hue shook her head " He seems very serious, he says he's going to marry her"

"..."

Genny, where are you going? Grandma Hue called after her granddaughter who had already started to rush out of the house.

"Marcus! Marcus!." Grandma Hue entered the living room and slapped her grandson on his ass.

"See? This is why I don't come over often" Marcus wailed

"Fix this. Your sister just left the house after you told her Jason had a girl." Grandma Hue ordered impatiently.

Marcus sighed and got off the couch to go after his sister.

Karen had barely moved at all, neither from where she sat not the muscles on her face. She just stared at various things in passing with taking to any particular one. Jason sighed watching her. He dragged her to the dining room for dinner.

"This is really awful" Nanny Jo submitted.

"It's alright, she'll get better. " Jason commented, more to himself than to Nanny Jo.

A servant came rushing in " Master Wu, there's a young lady at the door. You told us not to let any ladies in so I didn't let her. But she's insisting." The servant reported, clearly distressed.

"Who is she?" Jason asked

"Er... She says she's Genny Hue. Yes Genny Hue" the servant answered.

Jason dropped his cutlery getting up to go to the front door.

When he got there he witnessed an incensed Genny, swearing at the servants who were baring her path. She stopped abruptly when she saw Jason come out the door. "Brother Jason? I'm so glad to see you. I know you don't like it when I come over but I heard.. I heard.. that you got a girlfriend." Genny revealed tentatively.

"Well you heard wrong" Jason said coming towards her. A smile had started to break out on Genny's face. " I didn't get a girlfriend but a fiance. We'll get married soon" he finished.

Genny could audibly hear her heart break.
