While the villain was being lead away, I still held the boy in my hip. "Hey, what's your name, little man?" I asked him, trying to be cheerful. I usually wasn't a kid person but I'd make an acception. "Willaim. W-what about you?" I smiled softly. "I'm Shelby. Is it ok if I call you Will?" "Yeah." "Well, then, Will, you are in good hands. I won't let anything happen to you. Your safe now. I promise." "Pinky swear it?" He looked into my eyes, and held up his pinky. I noticed his eyes were an unusual color. They were a violet color. I linked my pinky around his. "Pinky swear. Now let's take care of you, ok?"

I took Willaim back to HQ, and asked for some new clothes for him, then gave him a bath. I tried to gently splash him with water. He giggled, so pure, so precious. I then styled his hair in a Mohawk, and we both shared a good laugh. Once someone knocked on the door, I opened it a little, and took the clothes, thanking the person who'd brought them. I dressed him up in his new red plaid shirt, jeans, and little boots. I brushed his hair, and then held him on my hip again, looking into the mirror. "What do you think?" I asked him. He smiled a little. "Its...nice." After that, he only talked to me, and followed me the whole day. I took a picture of us but didn't share or post it. I didn't want to make him uncomfortable. Misty approached me later and talked to me. "I know what you did was for the greater good, Shelby, but we could've gotten into serious trouble. If she had started a fight-" "We'd still win. You could control her blood, and I could control her bones, which would stop her from making a move. She wouldn't be fast enough." "Hm. Maybe. But it was a reckless move back there. You didn't even plan anything out." I shrugged. "Heroes have to wing it sometimes, don't they?" She sighed, and I was dismissed for the day, left to hang out with Willaim. We only grew closer that day.
