Trisha was still dumbstruck about what Quinn said to her. If she wasn't going to get pregnant how would they have a child. She get that Quinn was from a rich family but still... She dropped her spoon and continued to ponder about what her brother's wife had just said.
"Nate really have to hear about this" she murmured.
.
After some hours, Nate was finally done with his meeting. He shook hands with the shareholders as they left.
"We'll talk about the contract some other time Mr Nate, it's nice doing business with you"
"Thank you. I hope we catch on as well" he replied. They both laughed and left the business room. Nate escorted them to the door and signed a paper which his assistant handed to him.
"The secretary quit her job because she had to move with her family" she said to him.
"Look for another person to replace her for the meantime. We'll find another person for the job, I'll interview her myself" he said.
"Okay sir" she replied sucking her lower lips.
"I'll be heading home now. You can take the day off" he said and left without even staring at her. His assistant squealed happily. Of course, everyone wants a day off.
.
Paige on the other hand was looking for a new job. Her dream was to become a radio presenter which she finally became but everything got ruined due to her carelessness. Now, looking for another job was a hard task for her. What she did that day was on everyone's lips. She was glad that it wasn't a show where the faces can be shown, if that was it, she wouldn't have walked round the city this way. She would be completely humiliated.
.
Paige came across a familiar company. She stared at it and walked into it. She had an idea. She could work as anything apart from being a radio presenter.
.
"Hey Betsy, you're leaving already" the receptionist said to Nate's assistant.
"Of course. He said I should take the day off" Betsy replied happily.
"Hi?"
They heard a female voice behind and stared at her.
"Hello ma'am, how can I be of help?" The receptionist smiled at Paige.
"I need a job please" Paige replied quickly without beating around the bush.
"Oh, you can write your name here and come back tomorrow. Perhaps, you can meet the boss for your interview if you are called"
"Sure, I will. Thank you" she replied happily.
"Write your name here and contact details" the receptionist pointed at an empty space. Betsy stared at her as she wrote her name. She peeped to see her name.
"Paige? Wait, are you the radio presenter that just got fired?" Betsy asked a little loud. Those passing could even hear her. They stopped to see what the matter was. What was she driving to? To humiliate her?
"Um.. yeah, I am" Paige stammered.
Betsy folded her arms and frowned.
"What the f*ck are you doing here? Are you planning to ruin the reputation of this company the same way you did to your former company?"
"Betsy.. stop" the receptionist whispered to her.
Paige couldn't stand it anymore. She turned and left immediately.
Betsy scoffed and threw her long hair to the back.
"That wasn't necessary you know" the receptionist said to Betsy. But Betsy still didn't listen.
"I can't let her work here" she rolled her eyes. The receptionist stared at Paige in pity as she left the company.
.
Paige sighed in frustration. She should go back home since she didn't get any response today. She won't give up yet, she'll try tomorrow.
.
Paige got home and met someone standing by her door. She frowned and stopped walking.
"Hello?" She called out. The person slowly turned and stared at her.
"Finally! You are here!" She said. Paige shot her eyes and mouth wide open. It was Trisha.
"Oh my goodness, hi!" She greeted with respect. Trisha was like an older sister to her.
"I've been waiting for you for like ages. Where did you go?"
Paige scratched the back of her head, thinking of a lie that she could give. But Trisha already knew everything that happened.
"Come on, let's grab a drink together" she pulled Paige's hand and they left her building.

Meanwhile, Nate walked into his house. He saw his wife on the couch watching TV. The whole floor was littered with pop corn and empty can.
His expression changed immediately.
"Quinn?!" He yelled. She was frightened by his voice. She quickly sprung up from the chair and stared at her husband.
"Why the f*ck are you yelling at me? Do you have a death wish?" She yelled at him in reply. Nate was dumbstruck. He was breathing slowly, trying not to lose his temper.
"Clean this floor Quinn. Look at the whole house, it's in a mess!" He said angrily.
"Then hire a f*cking maid! Don't you dare expect me to do any work"
"Oh yeah, I was about to do so then what did you tell me, you warned me not to bring any maid here. Now, you are telling me to bring a maid. Make up your mind already!" He said angrily again.
"Don't you dare raise your voice at me. I'm going to tell my father about it!"
Nate walked closer to her. That was the only word she always use to threaten him. This was a contract marriage so whatever he does to her that make her feel bad, she always like to report to her father. Her father would help her to scold her husband and make him treat her right.
Sometimes, her father would tell Nate that his daughter wasn't given to him to cook for him or clean the house for him. That was when Nate knew he was in a death trap and not a marriage.
"If you do, what would happen? Will he scold me again like a child?" He replied, glaring hard at her. Quinn couldn't believe that Nate wasn't scared of her father anymore. She could remember that she could use her father to instill fear in him but it doesn't work anymore.
"What?" She murmured.
