"You're bold to even stay in his home after what you did"

Lina knew what her friend meant but her new boss was being so considerate and scary at the same time for her to even suggest leaving.

"I know and I was embarrassed and scared for what he would do but he did nothing and instead helped me out. I was phased out I failed to react" she declared

"It might have been cause he felt bad seeing you cry that he decided to hold back, so be alert tomorrow morning he might change his mind and request for his beautiful expensive couch" she heard her friend laugh.

"You love teasing me, am too tired to listen to you. In case my brothers pass by tell them I went on a study trip, can't have them investigating where I am" she said.

"Don't worry, I have them in the palm of my hand" they both laughed.

"Have a good night bestie" she said.

"Have a good night too, remember if you need my help didn't hesitate to call me"

"I know," Lina said hanging up. Even though it was a joke Lina knew her friend was right. What if it was only because of her situation he changed so if it ended then he would revert to the scary mean person he used to be?

"Now I can't sleep at all" she muttered laying still in bed. She then remembered how he had said that Lina had begged him to sleep with her. She giggled, "How could I be so bold so him that, guess my intrusive thoughts won that night" Sometimes sharing the bed with her brothers made her sleep faster so she did it so much it had turned into a habit. Her friend and roommate joined her in bed on the nights she failed to sleep.

A knock came at the door startling her, sitting up she heard his voice calling her name.

"You're asleep yet?" he asked.

"No, I can't" she answered. The door jeered open and Avril walked in.

"What's wrong are you in pain," he asked coming closer to the bed.

"No, am just not used to...."

"Sleeping alone" he finished for her.

She nodded, "You mentioned it in your sleep so I know," he said.

"But there is no need to worry, I will lay still and soon be able to go to sleep" she lied.

He smiled, "If you don't mind I can stay here until you go to sleep"

"What, this is your house you can stay anywhere you want" she hurriedly spoke.

"Alright," he said taking off his house slippers and getting on the bed.

Lina moved back surprised that he was serious.

"Lay down and try sleeping, maybe you can rest now," he said

Obeying Lina slowly laid down and glanced back at him.

"And you?" she asked.

"I will leave when you go to sleep" he answered grabbing his phone.

She fell silent watching him type something, "Can I ask you a question?" he heard her say.

"Mmm"

"Why are you so nice to me all of a sudden?" she asked.

"Cause your my employee and it's partly my fault for allowing you to drink that night, you ended up hurting yourself," he said.

"Oh, I didn't think about it that way" she muttered.

He placed his phone down and turned to her, "What did you think it was?"

Lina turned to the other side of the bed and whispered a good might.

"You're not going to answer me" he smirked.

"No, my question got uta answer so am good" she replied

She felt him shift and thought he was leaving but two strong arms grabbed her arms turning Lina on her back and facing him directly.

He gazed down at her, Lina could catch sight of something different in his eyes and blinked.

"Am sorry but you can't sleep without answering mine" he said.

The moment his warm breath skimmed over her face she realized how close he was.

That handsome perfectly sculptures face, his skin was so beautiful almost pear-like. Her eyes moved down to his nose then down to his lips.

He noticed she bit her lips and frowned, "Stop staring back at me and answer my question " he said.

She nodded, "I thought you liked me but I guess I was overthinking" Shyly Lina turned away from his gaze.

Avril moved his hand from her shoulder and slid down under her head pulling her to him.

Before she could master what was happening, his soft lips were upon hers and her brain seemed to shut down
