Chapter 11

Avril placed Lina down on the sofa and left for the kitchen.

"Have this?" he said offering her some water.

She looked up and breathed, "If you want me to get that then stop moving" she yelled.

Avril gritted placing the glass down on the table. He left her and headed upstairs to his room.

"You can use the guestroom," he said.

Her head popped up from the sofa still yelling, "How do I know where that is"

"The second door on your left" he said disappearing up the stairs.

He closed his door and pulled off his coat and then his shirt.

"How do I keep putting myself in such a situation" he muttered getting into the bathroom.

Lina who had fallen asleep woke up abruptly.

"Am thirsty?" she said looking around & saw the glass of water on the table. She moved to grab it but failed, with her impaired vision now she could not grab the glass.

Slowly she got up and moved to the table held the glass and messily drank the water.

"Mmm," she finished all the water then bent down to place it back down. But missed placing it in the air. She flinched when it fall to the ground shattering.

"Am dead, he's going to make me buy a whole set of glasses. " she cried trying to pick up the pieces but stepping on one and screaming in pain.

Avril stepping out of the shower heard the scream, he rushed downstairs and ran into the living room.

"What happened" Lina was on the floor crying her eyes with blood oozing from her heel.

Carefully he moved to her side carrying her up, "How could this happen" he said transferring her into the seat.

Lina looked up with her teary face, "Am sorry I didn't mean to... I just.... want water"

He sighed, "Okay please stop your crying it's irritating"

Lina closed her mouth sniffing.

He sat next to her and pulled the wet towel resting on his neck down to her leg. Gently he wrapped it around the injured part and told her not to move.

She laid back down and watched him clean up her mess.

He moved to the kitchen and got the first aid kit and some more water. Lina sprung up as he sat back down.

She took the glass and drank the water then turned to him.

He gazed at her, "How can you be so fragile and aggravating at the same time"

Lina blinked, "Can I sleep with you tonight?"

"Huh?" Avril gaped.
