Sacred wolf

He watched the movements of wolf ready to slash at it. Morris suddenly ducked down trying to give others an opening.

Jasper quickly fired four deadly strikes from his gun in a second. Jennie threw her knife at the beast with full force.

The wolf was prepared to dodge and then attack. It easily dodged the four bullets by dashing twice.

The wolf did not look like it had any difficulty dodging the bullets. Its speed was around same as the bluebird he fought before.

However it did not expect a knife to come flying at it. The knife thrown by Jennie stuck the beast on its waist.

A screeching sound was made from the knife's attack. Jennie and others were stupified. They expected the beast's body to be strong but this was too much.

The knife only scratched the wolf's skin, the wolf did not even bleed from it. The wolf wanted to dash to its attackers and finish them off quickly.

But Lucas was already there, he wanted to deliver a finishing attack after the firings and knife attack.

He was already rushing to the wolf when his teammates attacked, but the damage to the wolf was close to zero percentage.

He was supposed to be the main damage dealer according to their team's formation. He had used his beast weapon, his glove was emitting blood red light.

The attack was supposed to land on the wolf's vital organ but the wolf had high defense and never lost its momentum. It easily dodged the critical hit which only hurt its leg.

'No, it wasn't supposed to be like this.' Lucas was trembling near the wolf. The beast avoided the deadly strike but Lucas could not avoid its attack.

He was within a meter of beast's range. The skill from his glove took ten seconds and a lot of energy to prepare.

He could not use the skill again, ten seconds were a lot in the battle. With the speed of the wolf, it could finish them all in ten seconds.

Before the wolf could attack Lucas, Morris ran to it. His hand glowed blue, it was the use of energy to reinforce his hand but more authentic than Roan's.

He struck the wolf in its belly, a loud thump sound was heard. The beast groaned, it seemed to be hurt.

Lucas quickly stepped back to the rest of the team and poured his energy in the glove.

Jasper was ready with his gun to fire at the wolf after Morris escapes the area. His bullets were powered by some kind of skill which gave his bullet a wide area damage.

Jennie was ready too with her hands tightly clenched on a knife and a gun.

But the wolf did not attack. It howled and released a purple aura. The aura was so domineering that Morris could not even walk.

His legs felt soft, he kneeled on the ground shaking in fear. The condition of others were not good either. Lucas was already low on energy, he too fell down on the ground.

Jasper and Jennie could support themselves for a while but the fear in their heart was overwhelming.

'Is this the end? Morris is going to be killed first then the wolf would kill me' Jasper thought his heart full of fear.

'If I knew this would happen then i would never have teamed up with these weaklings' Lucas was cursing himself.

Jennie was on the ground crying, her body was shaking.

Roan was the furthest from the wolf. The aura of wolf affected him the least. He still felt scared of the wolf.

He remembered the strength of the Panda earlier. It was in another league among the intermediate tier. He was not even sure if the Panda earlier was intermediate tier.

The wolf never attacked them, it had same temperament as the Panda but the strength rivaled of the Panda.

He did not hesitate, using the wind path he rushed to wolf who was standing still.

He slashed at the wolf's neck with all his strength but did not use energy. The wolf did not expect someone to still come at it and attack.

The wolf used its claw to fend off the knife. Roan was pushed back 2 meters before stabilizing himself. His attack also pushed off the wolf back.

The wolf leapt on Roan trying to tear off his body. Morris was still on the ground shaking in fear.

When he saw the beast use its aura he believed it was his demise but Roan who was far behind him came to attack the beast.

While on the ground, he did not even care for others. Let alone expect a newbie like Roan who he assumed to be weak save him.

Morris was still on the ground feeling shocked about the outcome. He forgot that he was supposed to lead his team to kill the beast.

Roan saw Morris's face filled with mixture of shock, horror, fear and happiness. "Quick" Roan shouted at Morris with his hands signalling the boy to step back.

Morris realised his current situation and quickly stepped back. He helped Lucas and others who were still in shock and were filled with fear to stand up.

When the wolf attacked Roan it could not maintain its skill. The residual affect of skill was still there but it could be resisted.

"Prepare your skill Lucas. Jasper, we don't have that much time, use your full powered shot when you get a chance." he instructed them

"Use your fire skill and assist Roan" he said to Jennie. Jennie nodded and covered her hand in fire, then coated her knife with it.

After instructing his teammates he used his defense skill again and stood close to Roan.

The situation seemed similar as before. The wolf was standing in distance and so were Roan and his teammates.

The current situation was a stalemate. "Be prepared it might use the aura like skill again" Roan warned others.

'The beast is similar in strength to me and has a speed similar to me when using wind path' he frowned, he could not find a way to tackle the beast.

He could not show all his cards in front of others. 'The beast still has a weird influence skill' he murmured.

He looked at the beast and wore his green lens. The power of green lens affected the demon kangaroo, he hoped it would work on the wolf.

Before the wolf was still in stalemate, he rushed to the wolf with knife in his right hand. He secretly reinforced his right leg with energy.

The wolf had similar speed as him, it used the purple aura again. Suddenly the pressure on his body increased.

'Damn it, the wolf timed the skill and used it only when I am 2 meters away from it' Roan cursed the beast.

He felt heavy and his speed was somewhat slowed. He was already close to the wolf.

The wolf had a cruel smirk on its face. It dashed towards Roan ready to stab his neck with its claws.

Roan wanted to invest his stats into agility but it was already too late. He reinforced his hand, ready to defend his neck.

The beast was only a meter away when temperature suddenly increased. Roan felt heat on his left and the back.

The beast was struck with a one meter giant fireball. The fireball struck the wolf, it squirmed and groaned.

The fire scorched its flesh, it was still alive and its flesh was slowly recovering. The fire was still burning its body, making its natural healing inefficient.

Roan's skin was also burnt. he was very close to the fireball and could not defend himself.

When the wolf was squirming in pain, Roan used his lens to put the beast in illusion while dashing to its neck.

He was already very close to the wolf, he directly stabbed its neck and used his leg with reinforced energy to hit its head.

The illusion seem to have worked. It was less than a second but the beast was already in pain and did not get chance to defend itself.

The kick to its head was very strong, sound of cracking could be heard. Its bleeding head struck to ground by the force of his kick.

The wolf's aura skill again became ineffective. Lucas rushed to it and hit the wolf's head with his skill. The wolf's head was deformed and cave in.

Its body was still recovering from the burnt. Lucas had no more energy to strike and Jasper was already exhausted from using the fireball.

Roan used 4 points energy into his leg and kicked the wolf's head with it, releasing all energy in one hit.

The wolf's already deformed head shattered on the ground. Its body stopped recovering, the fire on its body was also put out.

Roan looked at the wolf's body and then looked at Jasper. 'It seems that he was controlling the fire to stop the beast's recovery' he thought

After killing the wolf a series of notification popped up from his system.

With instant level up his body recovered to its peak state. He sat down and started meditating.

Morris and others also sat down on the ground recovering their energies. No on among them was hurt physically but still they exhausted lots of energy.

Roan meditated for an hour before standing up. Others were also more comfortable and had their energy recovered.

Morris broke the silence and said with a smile "Thank you Roan, I did not know you were this strong. You saved our lives"

Others also nodded at his words and forced a smile on their faces. Roan did not pay attention to their politeness and looked at the wolf's body.

Morris looked at the wolf's body and quickly said " You can have the beast crystal for yourself."

"It is fine , I don't need it" said Roan. How could he accept the beast crystal when he already gained it from system.

The body of the wolf was empty and it could only be used as dinner.

Morris hesitated but did not speak again. He went to the beast's body and cut its body to get the crystal.

He cut the body in two, sliced different organs but could not find the crystal. He cut the body into pieces but still did not find anything.

Seeing Morris cut the beast into pieces like butcher everyone felt bitter. They were teenagers and could not bear seeing blood and flesh.

Jasper frowned and said "That's enough meat for everyone, we won't be able to eat it all" he thought that Morris was doing it cook dinner.

"He is not making dinner, he is searching for beast crystal" said Roan indifferently.

Hearing the words from Roan, Jasper realised that they really did not touch the beast to carve out the crystal.

It should be still inside the wolf's body. He went close to the body to look for the crystal.

Everyone else also went close the body of wolf and looked at its body. They started helping Morris search for the beast crystal.

Roan did not want to stand out and look suspicious so he also went close to the body and checked it out.

Ten minutes passed and the beast's body was cut into fine meat but they could still not find the beast crystal.

"Did it spit out its beast crystal and hide it?" Jasper asked

"There are some beast who sacrifice their beast crystal for its child but I don't know of anyone who hides it." Lucas replied to Jasper

"Does that mean the beast was already this strong without even its beast crystal?" Jennie asked thinking of entirety different topic.

Morris and others felt scared of this. Roan wanted to clear out their confusion but he could not tell them about system.

"It must have recovered its strength after that and was still in process of recovering. That is why it was hiding here and did not attack us first." Roan explained them

"It is correct, only when I attacked the wolf then it retaliated. It did not make move first. It was just standing opposite to us" Morris confirmed
