Nancy found herself staying up until 4 am. She had spent hours texting Nolan and had no idea it was that late. They both had a fun time texting and laughing on the phone, talking about their past and things happening presently in their lives and in school. Nancy had also tried to remain as quiet as she could so as to not disturb Aunt Kat.
Within a few hours of getting to know Nancy even more, He realized she was not just pretty, she also had a good personality despite the fact that she had gone through so much in the past few months.
He also opened up to her about his childhood and how crazy it was trying to not get touched by old women who found him attractive at a young age. He exposed his sister, Tara, by telling Nancy some silly childhood stories that he knew his sister would kill him for.
"Tara did that? No way!!!", Nancy snorted as she typed back a response.
"Yes she cut off her hair with a razor and had to shave it all." He added a laughing emoji, "she didn't go to school for one month because she was ashamed"
As much as Nancy wanted to go tell Tara and laugh at her the next day, she knew the girl would kill her brother so she decided to keep the funny story to herself.
They both also talked about their dating life which Nolan had brought up after asking if she was dating anyone.
Nancy was flustered at his question. Is he really attracted to her and wants to know if she was single? She thought and giggled at the message for a long time before responding back to him.
Nolan read about how she had her heart broken back in New York and she had decided to stay single since then. She also asked him a question that made him smile from ear to ear.
"Are you dating Stacy? I mean I asked because everyone in school thinks you are together; you know holding hands and all that".
Nolan smiled and replied almost immediately.
"I have never dated anyone in my entire life if I want to date, it would be someone with a pure soul".
Again Nancy stared at his message for a long time, she threw her feet in the air in excitement, giggling and rolling on her bed.
"If he is not dating her then maybe he actually wants me? I mean he is probably referring to me as the pure soul. I have a pure soul, Right? Nancy, you have a pure soul don't you", she muttered And giggled repeatedly.
The next day, Nancy was so tired. She had woken up by 7 am to get ready and eat before going out to catch the bus.
On getting out of the bus, she immediately saw Jada walking away from Beth, And the girl had also walked into the school.
"Hey… Jada, what is wrong?", Nancy curiously asked her friend whose expression looked like she had been punched in the face.
"We just had our first fight... She told me I didn't trust her, I mean who would trust her after what happened last night?", Jada said and sighed in annoyance.
"Hey… it is okay, I am sure you two will figure it out… did you explain how it made you feel yesterday seeing her get in the car with the guy?", Nancy asked.
Jada nodded and exhaled deeply, "I did and she told me that was her friend And he helped her home because her mother was sick. I mean she didn't even tell me about that, how does she want me to react to just leaving without saying anything?" Jada exclaimed.
She narrowed her eyes and glanced around.
Jada's eyes immediately widened when she finally focused her gaze on Nancy.
"Did you stay up all night Nancy? What do you have bags under your eyes?", Jada Said while touching Nancy's face, "you look like you are about to pass out with your dying eyes".
Nancy smiled and slowly walked away from her friend while waving at her.
"See you after school and don't worry much about Beth, I am sure you two will figure it out. Bye I love you", Nancy said before hurrying into the school without looking back.
"Love you too", Jada said while watching her friend leave, she also turned to leave.
"Could she have been texting Nolan all night? Do they have each other's contact now?", Jada said while walking off.
After the first class, Nancy was seen opening her locker and bringing out her Spanish textbooks, she suddenly got startled by a touch on her shoulder.
She turned and saw Jay smiling at her.
"Why are you so startled? It's just me", he chuckled as he rested his shoulder on a locker while staring at Nancy.
She sighed softly and locked her locker.
"I don't know. I guess I need some rest", she answered while looking at Jay.
He looked so good as usual, maybe even more good-looking today since he had a haircut but Nancy was too tired to notice or give a compliment.
Jay noticed her eyes, he gasped and stared in concern.
"What's wrong? Didn't you sleep? Your eyes", he asked.
Nancy sighed deeply, she rested her back on the locker while holding the textbooks to her chest.
"Yeah I slept super late, I was up doing stuff", she lied.
Jay was quiet, he remembered how he had seen her last seen on Instagram when he woke up, he wanted to ask but it would seem like a stalker if he did so he minded his business, hoping she was not up talking to another guy.
That would have broken his heart.
"I am fine though… I will sleep super early tonight to catch up on my sleep schedule, I will hate to ruin it… but right now I sure need sleep and it's just the first class, more to go", Nancy said and groaned softly.
She instantly saw Nolan walking past them with two of his friends.
His charm, the way he walked and smiled while talking with his friends, his perfect hair and catchy eyes.
"He is so perfect", Nancy thought as she watched him.
Nolan's eyes caught Nancy, he also noticed Jay next to her but his gaze was fixed on her as he walked by.
He gave her a smile and raised his hand to say hi.
"Hey", he said.
"Hi", Nancy responded as he walked by.
Her face was flushed and an uncontrollable smile appeared on her face as he walked away.
Jay who had noticed them was too stunned to speak, he watched Nolan leave and his eyes returned to Nancy who was still smiling.
"Isn't that Tara's brother?".
Nancy immediately stopped smiling, she raised her head up and stared at Jay.
